  Hi Lisa,

  Hyperion visual Explorer supports drill but its not similar Excel add-in, if you need to dig some members right click and select zoom before you can find the feature and documentation, to watch using files because it is not a product of oracle and is a third-party product.

  I agree with what Glenn says, and I'm not trying to discourage you from asking, please, please, please telll me that Oracle has sell sheets that gives you all this information and more.

  You must have this stuff, right? Briefing notes, competitive analysis, etc. etc.

  Surely the sales representative you work with can get you access to information if the OCS cannot. Right?

  Or maybe I'm just projecting what I'd do if I worked for Oracle, that is, diving deep with SCUBA tanks in all the internal goodies until my brain exploded (some would say that in my case that is about 3 feet deep, but you get the idea).

  Oops, should add you should check the software table - they are the OEM for VE. You might be able to pick up a few ideas on their website.

• Error in the Visual Explorer

  Our users use Explorer Visual Hyperion to make analyses and reports. When they apply quick filters, recovery takes a lot of time, and then it will fail, saying: «ask the administrator to increase the value of netinterval and netcount.» After that, it appears "Decompression failed" and "invalid pointer".

  If you are facing due to timeout error even after changing the settings of netdalay County and netretry. Try to change the registry settings of Windows server for TCP/IP setting, where you add some DWORDS.

  Hope the following information helps you.

  The following changes to the registry:

  1. open the registry (regedit)

  2. go to the Local Machine\System\CurrentControlSet\Services\TCPIP\Parameters

  3. Add the new DWORD value named TcpTimedWaitDelay, right-click, and select Edit.

  Select the decimal option, type 30. (The default value of this setting is 2 minutes. That's how long it will take for a used by the network for a connection to be released and restored TCP/IP port. 30 sec is the minimum allowed by Microsoft)

  4. Add the new DWORD value called MaxUserPort, right-click, and select Edit.

  Select the decimal option, type 65534. (The default value is 5000. This determines the highest port number TCP can assign when an application requests an available user port to the system).

  5. Add the new DWORD value named MaxFreeTcbs, right-click, and select Edit.

  Select the decimal option, type 6250. (The default value is 2000. This determines the number of blocks to control TCP (TCB), the system creates to support active connections. Insofar as each connection requires a control block, this value determines how many connections active TCP can be supported simultaneously. If all the control blocks are used and the connection requests more arrive, TCP can prematurely release the connections in the TIME_WAIT state to free a block of control to a new connection.)

  6. restart the Essbase server.

  We've worked with oracle on it and here's the steps provided by them

  "
  If you do not use the functionality of the Visual Explorer from within Essbase Excel Add-in, you can eliminate the error by renaming both files.

  1. go to the directory \Hyperion\products\Essbase\EssbaseClient\bin

  2. rename the file so the extension is not an executable, i.e. from have.exe to have.exe.ORIG

  3 Rename the DLL file is not a library file of valid data, i.e. from have.dll to have.dll.ORIG link

  as I mentioned earlier, I installed products Hyperion 11.1.1.1 in a distributed environment. I have three so-called machines, Machine A, B Machine, Machine C. All machines have the Windows 2003 operating system. And only Machine B and C of the application server computer installed.   I assume you mean just the sample application, you can also work around by, do not select tick sample application, click on the tab with the date information and change the date of 2008, click on the first tab and select the sample application, now click Finish and it will have duped into thinking that it is 2008.

• OPA webservice performance issues

  We are experiencing some performance issues with the service call a takeover of modules. The service is called via a regular Web service (XML) and we analyzed (using a clean SOAP UI call) the OPA response time is 1.5-2 seconds.
  
  As the modules is not very big (below I provide you with project statistics), I am surprised by the amount of time it takes OPA to return. Anyone know what could possibly cause this problem?

  The amount of data you pass in to OPA (i.e. What is the XML)? I saw some performance issues with web service calls big (such as those involving thousands of entity instances), and I understand the bottleneck in these situations the time it takes to parse the XML. (The engine of the OPA itself is extremely fast).

  Of course, there are many variables to consider in all environments. Without doubt you and your team will have to do some testing to eliminate assumptions until you find the root cause.

• I can save the layout of a table?

  I am using Hyperion Intelligence Explorer 8.3 on Windows XP/SP3.
  There is a section of a report that I use I want to convert an Excel worksheet.
  I use the function insert a table. Then layout all the columns in this section.
  Then make an article of export. Which works very well.
  What slows me down, is that whenever I do that, I have to pick off all the columns in the report.
  That takes some time.
  What I was wondering if there is some way I can speed up this process.
  For example, if I could save the layout once and reuse for the future of the reports which would be wonderful.
  The columns are always the same. But maybe there is a better way to convert this
  section of Excel?

  A couple of things come to mind first... What is the ARBORPATH on the desktop? I saw him get messed up in 11.1.1 installs. Also, have you tried the standby old "restart the computer" to see if it made a difference?

  The padlock shows only that there is a secure connection and does not guarantee that you are connected to the right server. So you could always be connected to the wrong server if you make a typing mistake in the URL and someone said that mistyped the URL. The lock feature has been replaced by the identity button of the Site on the left end of the address bar (address).

  When I right click on a folder (no file!), it happens:

  This application has requested the execution to terminate in a medium unusaual

  Strange that, in this case only when the name of the folder not constituted only a single character!
  I try safe mode, but still exist! Unfortunately I turn off System Restore. I also scan with nod32 (it is updated), but nothing has changed. I download c ++ runtime library from Microsoft and install it too. I also use fix tool from Microsoft, but my problem is still there.

• 32-bit Vista Home Premium - Library visual basic runtime C++ crash Explorer.exe

  By inspecting some messages on the map, I saw this error discussed before, but not in this context.

  Background: Running 32 - bit Windows Vista Home Premium (SP2) on an of Gateway GM5664 desktop (2.3 GB AMD Quad - core CPU with 3 GB of RAM). Firefox is the main browser.
  All the latest updates Vista suggested by the operating system have been installed successfully (through 14/08/09). McAfee and Dr. Web scanner revealed no problems with malware as of yesterday.
  Latest video drivers Radeon Catalyst are installed.

  Situation: I tried to access the directory where my iTunes library using Windows Explorer.  Like Explorer treats files in the appropriate subdirectory, the system crashes with the following message is displayed:

  "Error running in explorer.exe. The application requires the execution to terminate in an unusual way. Contact the application support team
  For more information. "It indicates the nature of the error as something related to Visual Basic C++

  I downloaded a couple of freeware registry cleaners and they have corrected many errors of registry, however, the phenomenon persists. When I downloaded
  a registry-setting product commercial (Quad Registry Cleaner), after a preliminary analysis, it is referring to several errors more than the freeware version captures, the most common being the empty registry keys.  It is better to spend the money to buy a commercial registry cleaner, or are there other solutions to try first.

  NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Registry cleaners are full and complete trash!  They do a lot more damage, then they fix NEVER actually!  Especially if you use more than one!  They are all ready to go to look for competing software, and delete the registry keys!  You give a perfect example of the typical scam, a free version, find the errors that only the product of tax can fix!  It is complete and total garbage!  The first thing you need to do is run the System File Checker.  You do this from an elevated command prompt (right click and select run as administrator).  then type: sfc/scannow which allow to run and to try and correct problems detected with your system files.  But for the love of goodness, fake registry cleaners clear Czar.  Believe me, they are nothing but trouble!  Locutys of Borg
