hen I go to it says disable 'status' HP wireless assistant but no, where do not see how to activate it again, can someone help please!
Hi you can access device manager and enable you WLAN, or simply more portable computers HP come with a button to toggle WLAN, please check the color of the light wireless button and press again to see if it changes color, if not you have successfully activated the WLAN again.
You can also try
- Reboot the laptop.
- Press F10 .
- Enter the BIOS .
- Select Advanced options .
- Select the Device option , WLAN/LAN switching.
- Switch to Activate .
- Select save changes and exit .
If you could tell the laptop model and the version of the operating system you use that I'll be able to give you more accurate and simpler measures

HP Probook 645 G1: Turn off the wifi when it is connected to the wire
Hello
I have a HP 645 Probook G1 A4 - 4300 M / 4 GB / 500 GB SSD/DVDRW/14 "HD/W7P 64B latptop.
I also have a model Dockingstation REPLACEMENT-I10X.
I have attached an ethernet cable on the docking station that works. My problem is that when I connect my laptop to the docking station. Get a priority above wired wireless. If the laptop still uses wireless unless I turn it off manually.
Ofource I want to log out manually. I want the phone choose wired when wired and wireless when wireless.
I tried a couple things:
1. I went setings adapter--> advance--> Advance settings--> moved the connection to the lan network to a network connection wireless, top of page bottem. it did not work
2. I manual put several metrics in connection properties (internet protocol 4 & 6--> Properties--> Advanced--> change automatic metric to manual and filled a small number to wired connection (No. 5) and filled a higher number (No. 250) to the Wi - Fi connection.) it did not work
3. looked in the bios menu. There is no option to change the priority or something like that.
Now, I always disconnect the wifi when I'm attached to the docking station (even tried plugging an ethernet straight cable to the laptop, but that has not helped either). Problem is when I unlock the laptop from the docking station, I have to manually reconnect to the wireless network.
Additional info: since my laptop is always closed when it is locked on the docking station, I cannont press the WIRELESS button to disconnect or connect.
Any suggestions help would be greatly appreciated.
Hello:
See if the BIOS of your laptop computer has a LAN/WLAN, commissioning.
On my HP Elitebook 6930p it is a parameter to enable the LAN/WLAN switch that automatically turns off the wireless card when an ethernet cable is connected, and vice versa.

- You have a good signal for your WiFi?
- Recent changes to your system?
- Have you recently purchased any product 2.4 GHz can cause interference?
You can try and uninstall the device and reinstall and make sure your driver is up to date follow the instructions below:
1. click on Start and type devmgmt.msc, then Enter. The Device Manager window opens.
2. expand network adapter.
3. right click on the wireless network card and select Uninstall.
4 restart the computer. Windows must now install the drivers itself.
5. put up-to-date drivers in the same way but selecting put updated driver

Satellite R840 - 12 c: cannot manually turn off the WiFi function
I recently bought a brand new Toshiba Satellite R840 - 12 c Notebook.
The Wifi light is still "on" and the function key does not work, in other words cannot manually turn off the WiFi feature.Although the WiFi feature is still "on" I can't connect to wireless modem. "
When I go to Device Manager I find conflicts in "other devices" for
1. network controller
2 PCI Simple Communications Controller
3 unknown DeviceTried updating drivers connecting via ethernet cable to the modem, but nothing helped.
Can anyone help?
Hello
Have you installed the driver WLan?
The laptop seems to be equipped with the Atheros AR9285 WiFi card and in most cases the Fn + F8 key does not work because the Wlan driver is not installed or is not working properly.Recommend first of all remove the network card wireless from Device Manager, then restart the laptop. After restarting again install the new driver Atheros Wlan downloaded for this wlan card.
Here you can find all the drivers Wlan published by Toshiba:

I just accidentally turned off my system restore application.
I just accidentally turned off my system restore application. I used the running config setting and disabled running applications... I have a msg to stop or anything like that.
The reason I did was to see if I could stop my browser to freeze or slow running, as I had downloaded chrome for reminders and love... then when it does not work, still having the same problem. Then I went to the option to restore to see if I could go back and fix it, I got the msg stop restore point!
Well now, how can I solve the problem, that I set out to challenge in the first place the slow down my laptop works... IE browser... etc.. ?AVG is a big eater, but I'm glad that you said because I seem to always remember to be "nice". I suffer from "Obnoxious Syndrome" so liable for my messages.
Pretty old...
I prefer these instructions :)
Run a test on your RAM with memtest86 + (I know it's annoying and will cost you a CD).
Memtest86 + is a version more up to date of the old program memtest86 and they are not the same.
The memtest86 + does not work under Windows, you will need to download the ISO file, create a bootable CD, boot on it and then run memtest86 +.
If even a single error is reported is a failure and you do suspect of your RAM.
If you have several sticks of RAM, you may need to run the test on them one at the time and change them out to isolate the particular omission of a single stick.
Always keep at least the first Bank of occupied RAM so the test will find something to do and simply restart your system.
Sometimes reinstalling the RAM in slots will relieve the error, but a failure is always cause for suspicion.
The instructions and files are here:
http://www.memtest.org/Here is a link that shows that you create and use the CD memtest86 +:
http://www.GeeksToGo.com/Forum/Guide-to-using-Memtest86-t246994.htmlIf someone says to run memtest86, you can tell them to go sand paper and that you know memtest86 + replaces memtest86 and here's why:
