I bought a new pc and installed Thunderbird, now also on old pc but thunderbird on new pc hangs up

my pc is dying so I had a newer version and installed Thunderbird on it, using Gmail. My old pc has about 4 messages in the Inbox, but on the new pc, the Inbox has all the messages received in the past months. I have deleted many of them, but now Thunderbird completely hangs up on the new pc, but it still works on the old pc, when the old pc is able to boot (not always).

I went in the web browser and go to Gmail and the Inbox also had hundreds of messages, I deleted everything except 5 messages. When I return in Thunderbird, the Inbox again shows hundreds of messages from the last months and hangs (not responding).

How to make it so that when I delete a message from the Inbox in Thunderbird on the old pc, it will not reappear in the Inbox in Thunderbird on the new pc?

Old PC using Norton 360, new PC with Microsoft Security Essentials.

OLD PC POP, outgoing server type is SMTP
New type of PC server IMAP, SMTP outgoing

A possible clue - on the new PC - he started work without changing any settings. What I did on the new PC's opinion it is an '' Important '' of folder names and all the many emails in my Inbox were there. I deleted them not Thunderbird, but from the Firefox Web browser. What I think is what has helped all the old emails disappear from my Inbox.

My old PC does not have a folder named 'important '.

Recently of new messages are appearing in my important file again if they are no longer in the Inbox.

Thanks for any help you can provide on this.
