I can install the full version of Windows 7 Professional on my computer Vista Home Premium? If so, how?

I bought a full version of Windows 7 Professional to install on my Vista Home Premium computer.  I tried to reformat my Vista drive in a right click on the C drive and select "format", but I get a message that I can not format this drive.  Help!

Thank you
Darlene

Here is the Vista Forums.

You have to boot from the Windows 7 disc to do a clean install.

Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.

At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu

  • The full version of Windows 7 Professional.

I had W7 Home Premium on my PC which gave me the choice to use the 32-bit version or the 64-bit version.

Now, I bought the full version of W7 professional which comes with 2 discs. 64 bit & 32 bit. I loaded the 64-bit program that is good, but how do I get the 32 bit version to load as well, as I had on Home Premium?

I found a 32-bit file that contains very many files, but I don't know how or what to do to access this 32-bit folder.

Do I have to use the 32-bit disk?

I have Virgin Media security but it does not work on 64 bit, but on the Home Premium, which took the 64 & 32 I had no problem.

    Help please.

    Thank you

    Ali

No, the key that can be used with 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 7 is exclusively for use with the disc 1. You cannot use install both. 1 license, 1 installation, so choose wisely. If you want to install Windows 7 32 or 64 bit on another partition or another computer, you must purchase an additional license.

  • reformatting from Windows XP PRO, if can install the retail version of Windows XP Edition family. This is due to the given computer and don't have the cd to repair or re - install to use fresh.

Received a computer running WINDOWS XP PROFESSIONAL SRV PK 3. Would format the hard drive to be used as a new fresh, since computer hard drive is 3/4 full and the version on it had not with the computer, clean WINDOWS XP HOME RETAIL and need to reformat the drive to take the software. I did start the CD, but it keeps telling me that the version running on the computer is more recent that the currently installed and then closes the installation.

Good. You should always do that whenever you buy a used computer.
Risks are good if you don't.

You do not reformat first before installing Windows. You
Just do a clean install and do that begins by reformatting
    the disc for you.

Just boot from the Windows CD (if necessary, change the boot order in)
the BIOS to CD drive first) and follow the prompts for a
    clean install.

  • Computer does not start to install the full version of windows 7.

I have a desktop HP Pavilion elite M9000T computer.  He is currently under Vista 32 Bit.  I'm trying to install Windows 7 64 bit. full version.

When I restart the computer with the instilation disk in the CD/DVD drive I have a message to Press any key to restart with the CD/DVD drive. Hit any key does nothing and the computer starts his habit.

(Go to boot at startup options does me not an option for the CD/DVD drive).

Could you tell me how to get the computer to boot correctly to install the Windows 7 software?

Clear the CMOS. Now start with the installed DVD and press the ESC key on the blue HP screen.  You get a boot device selection menu?

Can I use the full Version of Windows 7 to upgrade Windows XP with a custom installation, as I would with Windows 7 Upgrade Edition if I want? (If I decided that I would rather clean the entire hard drive so I can use the full Version of Windows 7 without the need of Windows XP or Vista)

    Hello

To upgrade your Windows XP computer to Windows 7, you will need to select custom during installation of Windows 7. A custom installation keeps your programs, files or settings. It is sometimes called a 'clean' for this reason installation.

This is the product key that determines whether you have a full or upgrade version. If what you bought was a version upgrade then press have you cannot install the upgrade license which means you must start the installation from a previous version of qualification of Windows Vista or XP.

    Hello

The product key you use to install could be a volume license key, you can contact your network administrator to download the iso from this site http://msdn.microsoft.com/ and install the W8. The W8 will be key during the installation or is installed with the default key that will work for 30 days. If it is installed with a default key, you can change the product key with the suite of measures

    -Run as administrator command line
    -Enter the following command

    slmgr.vbs-ipk TYPE-YOUR-KEY-RIGHT-HERE
-Now go to the properties of your computer and click on activate Windows.

She's... You are finished with the activation of new volume Windows8 license.

  • I installed the full version LavVIEW 8.6. I tried to upgrade to the professional version 8.6 by simply installing the new discs, and it has not upgraded. What do I need to uninstall, or is there a trick?

I installed the full version LavVIEW 8.6.  I tried to upgrade to the professional version 8.6 by simply installing the new disks, and it didn't perform the upgrade.  First, I have to uninstall and reinstall, or is there a trick?

Look in the License Manager in the National Instruments of your Start menu folder.  This is probably just a matter of activating LabVIEW 8.6 and maybe some other features with your new code license rather than your previous full version license code.

  • Pure install the OEM Version of Windows 7 re-Boot Loop after the message "preparing system for use of handguns."

Thanks in advance for any help...

I tried to install the OEM version of windows 7, but after "successful installation" restart the computer and it posts, I see the Windows logo, preparing for the first time use... Nothing that he stops, then reeboots.

My characteristics are the following: I have a motherboard ASUS P5KPL-CM, processor E5200 Intel Duo Core, 4 GB RAM, 1.5 TB hard and a Radeon HD 4870 graphics card. I built myself this PC. It was Windows XP, but I formatted the hard drive to do a clean install, so now I we a Creek so to speak. Help please?

    So I fixed it!

I do not know what was causing the boot loop, but the solution was simple. I removed my second hard drive, my video card and 2 GB of ram. I've heard say that windows 7 like no more than 2 GB of ram to install. I reinstalled from the disk, and all is well. If anyone else has this problem, it's worth a try.
