I can list pools of resources via a command line tool?

I'm trying to find out if I can understand if a virtual computer is in a resource pool by using a line of remote control. This could be easier than getting a list pools of resources available on a host, or if a virtual machine is a member of a pool of resources. Any ideas anyone?

I tried the tools provided with vmware-viperl (guestinfo.pl and vminfo.pl) and vmware-cmd (as well as other tools that were not even close).

Thank you.

Take a look at this script that retrieves this information without having to use the unsupported ESXi console: getVMsResourcePools.pl

You will need to install the vSphere SDK for Perl OR use [vMA | http://www.VMware.com/support/Developer/Vima/index.html ]

I'm trying to create a file of access database via a command line similar to right-click, click New and then click Microsoft Access database not only from a window (unless I can call this command line window).  Does anyone know how to do this?

The Right-click/New command is really just make a copy of a file stored in your templates folder.  So to do the same thing from the command line, you would simply use the command COPY and make a copy of your template file (an access database empty).

PowerCLI can help you achieve this goal. Using PowerCLI, you can deploy remote host model.

Here is an example for the same.

  • [Solved] Possible to enroll the workstation via the command line (Linux)?

    Hi all:

Under Linux Mint or Ubuntu, the ToolTip that should allow me to save the product key just won't display, making me unable to use the program. Normally, the system should ask me a root password after I click to enter, but nothing happens here, and I can't find a problem in any log file (by clicking on the option adds nothing in the newspaper at all). I try this on a new brand operating system installation and using the installer to update from the Web site.

In a Terminal, use the following command and use your real serial number instead of the fake one which is indicated.

Something like which is unknown to me and I doubt that this could be possible.
As you say there is a preinstalled Toshiba HWSetup tool which can be used to change some BIOS of some settings. But what a way to change the settings of the BIOS to the Windows operating system.

  • Access iCloud drive via the command line

I wanted to write a small script to access iCloud by car via the command line, and to my surprise, this seems to be a very special place that is not displayed in /Volumes or even in my home directory is Dropbox.

Veterinarians here know the way, if not to enlightenment, then to iCloud drive?

    Thanks in advance.

It is actually a rather interesting problem. I did research I should have done before I came here and found that iCloud Drive is accessible here:

    ~/Library/Mobile\ Documents

What is interesting is that the many, many interesting things found in this directory when you reveal all the files through ls - al, is that custom directories seem to appear. Even more interesting, in the Finder, select go > go to folder... and that type path and it does not recognize the path. Type ~/Library/, and then of course that's fine and see you the directory of Documents Mobile...

  • Satellite L - can I add new accounts via the command prompt?

Is it possible that I can add new accounts to the machine via the command prompt on the screen of "recovery"?

(When you start in recovery mode and select command prompt)

I tried the normal commands "net user username / add ', but the accounts are not added to the machine.

Y at - it another command which can be used?
    Thank you.

    Hello

I don't know if it will work using the in my opinion Mr. recovery console, it is not possible.
As far as I know that you can add the user and the password using the CMD, but this might work only when the Windows operating system has been loaded.

In this case, you can use this command to add the user account: + net user username / add +.
If you want to add a password for the user account, then you must use this way: + net user username password / Add +.

When I run the command of discoverer line, I have to mention explicitly all parameter names and their values

    Is this possible...

Thx for your ideas and your advice, sandra

    Hello

How parameters could be made optional in the Office?

It can be made using desktop only, there is no functionality of optional parameters.
If you have a single desktop, you will need to set the parameters in the command line.

  • RVL200 and Windows 2000 Server - can not access network resources via VPN

I am new to the VPN, and I feel I'm missing something very basic in my configuration. I just installed a RVL200 as the gateway for my corporate network router.  The network includes a Windows 2000 Server that acts as server DHCP and several PC and a printer.  I was able to "establish a SSL VPN tunnel" home connection to the router, but after recording in everything I see is the screen of virtual Passage - one with lock icons - otherwise I am inside the router.  The statement shows that I am connected.  Once the tunnel is established, what am I supposed to do to get computers to the computers on my network?  I can ping all computers on the network using their LAN address.  I'm supposed to see a choice of network resources to get to this point?  I put the router as a trusted site in the server and even tried to disable all firewalls, but I see that the VPN screen with icons.  I don't know how to proceed from here because I don't know what I'm supposed to see.  Thanks for any help that you can give to a newbie!

The SSL connection is only for the VPN router. To access the computer, you can use Windows Remote Desktop connection. So that you can access to remote computers on the network, or you could look for 3 third-party software for remote access

    Hope this helps

  • How can I turn off the monitor (e.g., "standby") via the command line at the push of a button (or any other shortcut need not additional software)?

    Hello

I don't like it when, after a break from work on my PC, the screen turns off as set up through "Power Options" in the control panel. That's why I put the relatively high threshold.
However, when I know that I will not need the computer for a while, I want to save energy and wish the mode "sleep" could be activated immediately. Turn off the screen is not an option, because it has a USB hub built-in - off completely would be to unplug any connected device. Usually, if the computer has always works and might need the resources connected.

Ideally, by pressing a button (or start a program or something), the screen would immediately go in mode 'sleep'.

On systems prior to Vista and 7, IIRC, running a command in the sense of:
    Rundll32.exe user32.dll, SendMessage (HWND_BROADCAST, WM_SYSCOMMAND, SC_MONITORPOWER, 2);
would do the trick. The dll should run the command to set the monitor to sleep. We could create a shortcut or even integrate the command in a batch file, but unfortunately it doesn't seem to work on Vista or 7.

Does anyone have an idea on how to do it on Windows 7?

I would strongly try to avoid having to install any additional software to help me. (There is quite a little all about, even free applications that promise to do exactly that, but I want to avoid them if possible.) "And I can't believe that this basic that could be done on XP cannot act more on 7!).

    Thank you for your help,
    NicApicella

    Hello

Sleep is one thing and switching Off the Display is quite another.

I found a way to turn off the screen in case you don't have a hardware switch or a keyboard shortcut as in my Dell Inspiron laptop (Windows 7).

Create a batch with the following script file:

    echo off

    C:\Windows\System32\powercfg.exe-changer - monitor-timeout-dc 1
    C:\Windows\System32\powercfg.exe-changer - monitor-timeout-ac 1

    START/min/Wait C:\Windows\System32\scrnsave.scr s

    C:\Windows\System32\powercfg.exe-changer - monitor-timeout-dc m1
    C:\Windows\System32\powercfg.exe-changer - monitor-timeout-ac m2

with the idle time to turn off your screen set in the Control Panel, replace m1 and m2.

Control Panel > Power Options > any 'Active' diet Plan > change Plan settings > disable the display setting (minutes).

    For example, in my computer laptop m1 = m2 = 30 and 10.

Now create a shortcut to the batch file and optionally assign a keyboard shortcut and an icon.

    Explanation of the script:

The first two commands sets the idle time Display Off for the minimum possible setting of 1 Minute for the AC and DC (battery) power. The third command put the system mode blank screen saver 'instantly' and / Wait for the screensaver to terminate application. After 1 minute of inactivity, the monitor turns off power completely.
The Saver screen/Wait is over by the event of the reactivation of a movement of the mouse button, the last two lines of code will come back the idle time-out settings of origin defined in the Panel view. This to ensure that after waking up, the display does not Turn off all 1 minute of inactivity expire.
