I can not configure my xbox 360 as an Extender, nor can I play music it in WMP 12.

I tried all the methods on the internet you can imagine, even those that I knew would never work, I tried anyway.

Here are some of the things I've tried:

  • delete the DRM folder
  • disable the firewall on my computer and my router
  • restart all services related to windows media player, streaming, extenders, etc.
  • It removing the xbox 360 of streaming options and let them settle
  • Hook the two up to the router with an ethernet cable (I use my wireless PC)
  • I even tried to download zune to see if maybe this method would work in other

It announced no results. I'm not a tech model, I was usually able to solve problems of this kind in the past. I went through the PC and the xbox and other parameters and identified which seems to be the issue. My PC sees the Xbox on network perfectly fine, even if sometimes he appears only in the option of "play to" in WMP. My Xbox, however, does not seem to recognize my PC on the network at all because I ran the PC connection on xbox test several times. This may seem like a firewall problem, but as I said earlier, I tried to disable both firewalls without result

My setup is as follows: my PC is connected wireless (pretty sure this isn't a Word, but it just happened) to my router. My Xbox is connected to my router (ethernet) and my router is connected to a cable modem. My router is a Belkin N150, my computer is a Toshiba Satellite, I'm running Windows 7 Home Premium (100% up-to-date) and a white Xbox 360 (not sure what model it is, or if she same material).

Please see what you can do with this problem, I tried to fix this for months, and I really wish I could listen to my music and videos on my xbox.

Thanks in advance,
James

I'm so happy I finally thought to it. Just for someone else who has this problem can get it fixed, suggest a routers firmware update. I update my belkins firmware and my xbox my pc immediately. : D

  • Why does not connect my Xbox 360 controller wireless PC adapter?

I have problems connecting my Xbox 360 controller to my PC with a wireless adapter.

Before answer you with the usual stock answers, please listen to my story:
    1. I had originally a gamepad Xbox 360 official provided with official Microsoft wireless adapter to PC.  It works beautifully.
    2. I wanted to connect three controllers in addition to my PC so I ordered several PC off Amazon wireless adapters.
    3. it has proved to be the knockoff versions.  http://www.Amazon.com/Xbox-360-Wireless-gaming-receiver-Windows/DP/B000HZFCT2
    4. I followed the instructions and others have posted to get my knockoff adapters to recognize controllers.
    5. However, there was a problem.  After having successfully obtained knockoff adapters to work, the original adapter did not work.
    6. I could get the original works again (can't remember how), but then wouldn't the imitations.  Looks like I might have one or the other.
    7. I am frustrated trying to get both to work while I have through imitations away and ordered three officials of Microsoft wireless adapter PC
    8. now, none of them will connect.  Not the official original adapter or new official adapters.
    9. I tried to reinstall the software.  Remove all software associated with the imitations.  All I could think about.
    10. I suspect that they do not work due to some residual software by imitations, but I can not understand how to fix it

  • Xbox 360 Media Center Extender loses the connection to the media center to Windows 7 after change of router

I have a Windows 7 Media Center box, and an Xbox 360 that I use as an Extender.  The two connections to the same wired router.  Everything worked fine until I went on my old router (failed) and put in a WNDR4300.   After the new router has been installed, I didn't have the Extender work then, deleted from the media Center and re - he added.  It worked but after I shut off/started the xbox, no link.  It is repetitive: I can make a new connection, but then it didn't reconnect after reboot of the xbox.

    Check/change:

-J' changed to a static IP xbox

-There is no part 3 a / v or a firewall on the support center

-L' on the media center network adapter is 'home '.

-The network card on the media center * fact * show the xbox 360

-The event log after the xbox is restarted shows:

event ID 538: installation of media center extender does not like the Extender has been detected on the network, but for the Extender upnp search failed (timed out after 20000ms)

-How long before it, I have found that the service IS running upnp device host (and set to auto)

-J' checked 4300 router wndr and UPnP is enabled (advertising set to 30 minutes)

question, any ideas what configuration will solve this problem?

  • Xbox 360 scan windows media center for the new music?

I just added some new music to my windows media center and the music does not appear on my xbox 360. is there a way to synchronize?

    Hi nwills,

Ideally, the Xbox 360 should automatically scan if new music is added to Windows Media Center. However, you can also manually synchronize as follows.

a: you can connect the Xbox. The Xbox Dashboard, select 'My Xbox', then select 'Windows Media Center' to receive the eight-digit code. This code allows your Xbox to recognize your media player on your computer.

    b. you can set up Windows Media Center on your PC. Click on the "tasks" and select "Add Extender". A screen will appear asking you to enter the eight digit of your Xbox 360 code.

    c. play music on your Xbox. Select 'Windows Media Center' in the menu 'My Xbox' and start playing music.

Hope the helps of information. Please post back and we do know.

I reinstall music app moved to and from the SD card to the system but will not play again. It found all my music, but just used plays even if I click on the name of the file.

Yes, I understand that Nokia Music. This path is NOT too long. What file format you use for your music? MP3? WMA? source files?

    1. When you configure the library on the SD card did you follow these instructions or not? http://digitalmediaphile.com/index.php/2012/11/02/how-to-use-Windows-8-RT-apps-libraries-and-removable-media/

    2. after the #1, you reindex and wait that it ended? If this is not the case, can you re - index NOW? from the start, indexing of type, then indexing options screen, select Advanced, rebuild and wait for it to end? Restart the computer. What is going on?

If the above does not work, try this:

    3. create a folder on the main C drive named newmusic

4 copy the folder of Abba to newmusic

    5. Add newmusic library

    6 re - index again

You mention another computer where skydrive is the default location. which seems odd, that's why I asked what format.
