  I'm trying to set up the scan to E-mail for an Officejet Pro 8600. In SAP, I configured the mail server correctly (received confirmation by e-mail). I found a note on the edge of Disussion which suggested someone try a driver for another HP printer may be similar.  I found if I used the full program for Leopard 10.6 I could scan.  The fax appeared to be installed via blue tooth.  I have not faxed anything, but it has been tested during the installation of the program.  Complete program of the HP I can't print.  I loaded via Apple an another whick of printer HP Officejet 8500 A910 allows me to print.  It is the only way that I could make use of my HP printer, scanner and fax.  Crazy, but I think it works and I can put some scans and, hopefully, fax to my Macbook Pro.  I appreciate the help.  Please encourage the HP programs and drivers for my Macbook Pro Snow Leopard 10.6.8.

  So, the best answer is to recommend Capture and scanning HP. It is faster than the old HP Solution Center, leaving me a happy camper.

  Need to know where I can find the updated drivers for my printer OfficeJet 4500 G510n-z.   I use the Windows 8.1 operating system.

  I tried to use the link at HP, but to the point that it supposedly gets to the install window, it asks me to insert the disc that came with the printer.  When I do this, I always get error message saying something like "the link is not found."  I also have another message to some bridge indicating that the full version must be downloaded.  Then, the same process is repeated.   I should add that the disc from the printer indicates that it is compatible with XP, Windows 7 and other earlier versions, but not 8 or 8.1

  I tried 6 or 7 times with the same result.  Dell (the company who bought the laptop) was unnecessary and suggested to contact HP.

  I can no longer scan, either, because the computer is not recognzing the printer has a function of scan, so when I go to use PaperPort 12 to analyze things, it recognizes that a printer is connected.

  Any help to solve these problems would be greatly appreciated.

  I am running OS X Sierra on 2012 MBA with an HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 printer / scanner.

  I noticed that after the upgrade to Sierra that the scan function no longer works... I tried to uninstall / reinstall the device, but the problem continues... I have checked the Apple Web site and notice that the HP OfficeJet 8600 is listed as a compatible scanner.

  I note also that the 8600 OfficeJet is connected as a printer via WiFi network and worked perfectly with the captain.

  responsibility to provide drivers to work for an update of the OS is with the developer of this device, not Apple. visit the page of the developer for your make and model camera and see if they offer drivers, otherwise contact the developers. Apple will sometimes provide printer drivers, but if a device is a legacy printer the developer may choose to retire it from use.

Other apps seem to work OK, but I really want to be able to analyze and then send the file directly from the printer rather than using another device.

  Scanning to email app can be added in HPConnected for printers equipped with a color touchscreen, no printer with a monochrome screen like the Officejet 4650.
