I can't access my files on xp after using windows 7 for a while

IAM a user in windows xp with sp2. Recently, I went to windows 7 during about 2-3 weeks and then put it back switched to windows xp...

Now, I can not access some of my folders, no opening or deleting or anything and I only have 1 Administrator account on my computer...

I need to access my account, what can I do?

Problem solved...

apparently the permissions for the user is not a new thing in windows 7 windows xp offers you the options of files with similar safety records.

It's article which has contributed to:

Thanks anyway.

If logged in as an administrator, then you can do what you like, connected as a user for you only the things you 'clean '. However if it is simple to do, you should also understand its effects. If your machine is used only by yourself or people that you are happy to have provided full access to the hard drive then you don't remove no permission and that you are confident, no one will remove/mess with the files they don't own then begin.

    Hello

    1. what happened to your administrator account?

    2. you remember to make changes to the computer recently?

You will not be able to change your name from standard user to administrator.

    Step 1:

You can see the following link and start in safe mode.

My computer have Windows reloaded and now I can't access my e-mail stored previously in Windows Mail. How can I get back them?

You can try to search for *.eml, but if the disk has been formatted first, they will not be there.  The files are also hidden, so make sure that you enable the display of hidden files and folders under control panel | Folder options | View.  You can also check with those who 'reloaded' of Windows to see if they have backed up your data first.

  • Can I remove the file 'SaveData.mig' after I run Windows Easy Transfer?

Can I remove the file 'SaveData.mig' after I run Windows Easy Transfer?

I used easy transfer to move files from an old computer to my new about 12 months ago. The SaveData.mig file takes 22 GB of space on the new computer. I would like to remove it but I don't know if it will mess up all my files that have been transferred to my new computer. Anyone know if I can delete this file in order to free up space? Thank you

I agree with Mohdrafi - you can remove safely; However, you should have a more recent backup of your current files just to be on the right side (image FULL weekly backup and an incremental backup every day for an external HARD drive - I've seen too many people get burned when their drive hard breaks down or something worse and then they lose all their precious documents (, photos, audio and other files).  There ARE recovery procedures, but they don't always work, and they don't always get everything (especially if you expect to solve the problem or continue to use the PC in the meantime)- and depending on your version of Vista.  Delete this file will NOT affect the files and settings that you restored using the process.  Could have deleted it hours after that the process has been done (once you have a good backup) and it would have been very well then.  If you have a good backup, I can see no reason whatsoever to keep the file.

If the normal delete function in Vista doesn't work, try using one of the following free products to remove the file.  Unlocker to: http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml or file Assassin http://www.malwarebytes.org/fileassassin.php (with or without forcing the deletion: http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/12/27/force-delete-cannot-delete-locked-or-in-used-files-or-folders-with-fileassassin/). These programs often work when normal functions remove Vista not work correctly.

Congratulations to the use of Easy Transfer - this is a pretty cool tool isn't it?  Not sure how many threads that we have here people with issues or recoving given him--I saw a lot.  It seems easy on the surface, but when it doesn't work it can become quite complex and aggravating (and I know people who have unfortunately never were able to retrieve their data and settings no matter what we tried).

    I hope this helps.

  • Why can I access is more my hotmail account using firefox?

Since this thing 'Windows Live' has been implemented, (ie: pushed to the bottom of the throat), got hurt continually access to my hotmail account using Firefox as your browser, until, from the past week or so can not access at ALL, unless I use IE. Everytime I turn on my laptop, I get the 'Windows Live Mssgr' box and must stop and that close. (Oh, I tried a few time just "go with the flow" and went forward and connected to Live Mssgr, and I was immediately HARASSED by dozens of 'contacts' I had NEVER heard of and had to spend the 5 minutes following or so playing whack-a-mole with the hordes of spamming, until the only way to stop him stopping once again.) I am NOT interested in LiveMssgr, Windows Live, or one of that truck, is what I'm interested to have access to my hotmail account, using ANY BROWSER, I JUDGE GOOD of USE!  I have already written on this time, but I was told I was in the wrong section, and I had to go in this section. (And of course, some worker drone MS came and he labeled as being "CORRECTLY answered"). WHY can I access is no longer my email using ANY other browser except IE; and WHY does microsoft keep pushing constantly to be the largest and most greedy aggressor on the block? .... Anyone? .... Important: System Restore will return all system files not as documents, email, music, etc., to a previous state. These files of types are completely affected by the restoration of the system. If it was your intention with this tool to recover a deleted file to non-system, try using a file instead of system restore recovery program.

Important: while performing the check disk on the hard disk, if bad sectors can be found, then check disk will try to repair this sector. All the data available in this area may be lost.

Custom installation WARNING: If you format the hard disk during the installation, the data files are saved in a Windows.old folder on the partition you installed Windows 7.  However, you should always back up the files. If you have encrypted data files, you may not be able to access them after installing Windows 7. If you have backed up your data files and then restored after Windows 7 is installed, you can delete the Windows.old folder.
