  Reformat the drive worked fine and I deleted all of the AV and other programs not essential.  I reinstalled Samantic AV and scanned w/n implies.

  Thank you Marie Therese - it seems that my problem has been resolved for now.  I'll check more closely when it is actually updated for me to download.  Right now, I don't get any error messages, and I always get downloads that come to me automatically to Windows, so I am happy with that.  It seems that I solved the problem of stage.   I'll let you know later.
