  It is not possible to access a catalog on a network. The catalog must reside on a hard drive that is local to the computer running Lightroom. The best way to handle this is to use the catalog on the laptop while you travel. Then choose the images that you want to copy to the other computer and export them in a catalogue, including images. These images and the catalog could be placed on an external hard drive which could then be connected to the main computer at home. Then, you will be able to import into this catalogue.

  HM, it is clear that it is not found on your old C: (so E :). )

  And there is no config file to tell where to find the catalog to Lightroom. It's just that the catalog is in the place you choose (most of the people chose to have the catalog to the location by default...).

  What antivirus/antispyware/security products do you have on the machine? Be one you have NEVER on it
  machines, including those that you have uninstalled (they leave leftovers behind which can cause strange problems).

  That is easily solved by having the option catalog by default in the set preferences or the real of the real catalog path, mine is D:\Lightroom 6 Catalog\Lightroom 6 Catalog.lrcat, or have imposed on the most recent catalog. With this second, and by default, the set LR option will start with the last catalog that has been opened. All you have to do is to re - open your real catalog file > open catalog (and it will appear in the list box menu to open the recent item).

  PCD file format is not supported with Lightroom, you can try to convert your PCD in Jpeg files, and then import it in Lightroom.

  My external storage drive crashed taking all my photos. These photos can still be viewed in Lightroom, but I cannot save to a new location.  Is it possible that these images can be collected in the lightroom catalog?

  What you can do if your originals have disappeared - try everything you can (such as rescue programs) to retrieve them - is to extract previews you see in LR. It's JPEG files, and their quality will depend on the size of the preview and rendered quality.

  If you have the Firefox button, you can access your favorites by pressing Alt to temporarily activate the menu bar. You can also go to Firefox > Options and activate the menu bar full-time. You can also open your favorites using the hotkey Ctrl + B.

  If you want to permanently add a bookmarks button to the toolbar, you should watch section of the Knowledge Base on the customization of the toolbar.

  I've been struggling for hours to open lightroom. My computer turns off without reason, and then I went back into the light room and had the following startup message:

  I tried everything I can. I searched online and you have deleted the files of 'locking' of the catalogue record. I did what is obvious and just rebooted.   In your OS, the folder that contains your catalog must have read & write permission.

  If you think that you already have, we show a screenshot so that we can see in the Explorer Windows/Mac Finder folder that contains the catalog file; and show us an another screen shot of the permissions on this folder.

  Also, please check the catalog file in your operating system to ensure that it is not set read-only.

  This seems to be a problem with this catalogue.

  Launch of Lightroom with the command button and choose the option to create a new catalog

  If you are able to create a new catalog, then go to file menu > import from another catalog > choose your main catalog to import data from.

  Or, you can search for a recent catalog backup and verify if you are able to open that.
