  There is one thing that I know that you need to check that COULD be your problem.  Open Control Panel (in Classic view) and click Folder Options (or, in Control Panel, click on appearance and personalization and then Folder Options).

  Open the view tab and make sure that "Always show icons, never thumbnails" is NOT checked.

  It would be good to hear from you as to whether that was the problem!

  Just installed the LR3 software and updated to the latest version. I inserted the SD card with 12 photos (jpg and raw) in the card reader, but on LR3 screen I saw 12 gray rectangles. However, I imported the 12 pictures in a folder on the PC. Gray remained of rectangles. With other programes I can see and open images. I have mad a mistake? Y at - it a particular to setting? My camera is a LX5.

  If you can see your images to develop, but not in the library, your preview cache is broken. Delete it and rebuild your previews. This is the file ending with '.lrdata' who lives next to your catalog.

  If you can not see your images in two places, your monitor profile is corrupt. See here.

  I'm having a problem when I open My Documents, the window opens and looks great, I can go to any folder and open it and everything is well again, however if I then opened my pictures, and then open a file... some files, less than a second after they are open [and the pictures show] will make the window My Documents to disappear also all the desktop icons disappear the computer will then will reset it self , add all the icons and waiting for me to do something.

  Thank you for your message.  Please provide comments to a few questions so that we can better help you get your problem solved.
  1. are there recent changes made to your system, namely the hardware or the software?
  2 How long present this problem?
  Here are two methods to try, please try in order.  If a system restore fix the problem, do not perform step 2.
  Step 1:
  Run a system restore to before that was the problem.  Please click the link below to get instructions from system restore.

  Step 2:
  Create and test the new user profile.
  Click 'Start' > right click on 'My computer' > select 'manage '.
  Double-click 'Users and groups' > below, select "users".
  In the pane, right click on the space empty and select 'new user '.
  Enter the identification information you will retain and select OK
  Right-click the user account that you just created, and then select "Properties".
  Select the tab "member of" > click on "add".
  Type Administrators in the field and select "check name".
  Once administrators is added, click OK
  Disconnect and connect again your new account, opening pictures with your new trial account.  You can even browse your other photo folder by going to the following location:
  c:\Documents and Settings\ (user account) \My Documents\My images
  If it works, your profile has been altered somehow.  You can then start to copy your data from your old profile to it.

  I think that the excerpts come from thumbnails cache. And clear the cache of thumbnails is certainly worth it. See How do I clear the Cache of thumbnails in Windows 7 and Windows Vista by using the disk cleanup utility.

  Looks like you are describing the view thumbnails of image files.

  Open File Explorer , and then click the view tab in the toolbar.

  On the right-hand side, click Options.

  In the Folder Options window, click the view tab.

  Remove the check mark from the option always show icons, never thumbnails .

  Click Apply/OK.

  Missing in this equation are the Premiere Elements version you were using and the operating system on which it is running. But...

  The Act is accomplished. But... Up to now, and after that you went ahead and moved to version 12, we now learn what Premiere Elements version you were using. We don't yet know the operating system involved.

  You said first Elements 10. First 10 Elements is affected by a problem serious display known if the computer uses an NVIDIA GeForce video/graphics card card. In this issue, the only cure is to roll back the version of the driver about may 2013. The description of the problem and how to make the rear roller are described in one of the messages at the top of this forum. What video/graphics card your computer use?

  On another front, Adobe will release a new version of Premiere Elements any day now. Not one, but Adobe knows the function defined for the new version. This type of information is announced at the time of the release of the new version.

  So the solution to the problem you presented in this thread could have been...

  1 roll back the version of the NVIDIA GeForce driver for all may 2013 if possible (Windows 8 or 8.1 64 bit, maybe not possible)

  2. move to a different version of Premiere Elements (which you did)

  I offer the foregoing for consideration so that you can review your decisions. We are pleased to learn that the first items 12/12.1 works for you.

  My computer died recently, so I had to install Dreamweaver on a new machine. Everything works fine except that I can't see the images in Dreamweaver with absolute addresses (universal) that are hosted on my site.
  
  I can see the images with relative addresses and I can see the images with absolute addresses on other sites.
  
  When I go online and copy the locations of images of images already on my site and paste these addresses in Dreamweaver as a location of the image, all I get is a gray broken image symbol.
  
  When I download a page that contains images (though those I do not now see in Dreamweaver) everything looks a lot online, so I know a problem isn't coding or links.

  OK... Just to fix it myself...

  In the "Site definition" under "Local news" in the slot "HTTP address", I had written to the address of the site. When I added to this address, my office off the main site directory images began to appear.

  If you access your Yahoo mail via Mac Mail application, in the Mail menu bar, click Mail > Preferences , and then select the display tab to assure you that:
