I can't start anything on my computer!

Hello world!

I have a problem with my HP Pavilion dv6 laptop, installed brother of new graphics card drivers for me and after that I couldn't start all programs on my computer! He managed to help me start some programs using compatibility mode, but otherwise I can't start anything without the use of compatibility mode, any help would be appreciated!

Jenna, xoxo.

EDIT: Okay, then I found the system restore thing, while it had installed Grand Theft Auto IV and a device driver Package. The next day, when the computer started to the top of the screen was all dim, so it uninstalled and reinstalled, but the screen problem dark fixing done in other numbers like Skype, Chrome does not. There those who work, but now nothing works at all, I can start some programs using compatibility mode, but others not.

I used to be able to just everything starts with a double click, the best option would be to come back all the time until it has installed the game or the graphics card drivers?

Thanks in advance again

"I used to be able to just everything starts with a double click, the best option would be to come back all the time until it has installed the game or the graphics card drivers? Yes. That would be the best option. Tell your brother that when installing graphics drivers for a HP laptop, always use the provided HP drivers. They are changed by HP.

If you want to do a clean install of Vista, what kind of computer you have? Most laptops and many OEM desktop computers (HP, Sony, etc.) come with a picture of factory restore on a special partition on the hard drive. The factory restore process is normally called by pressing a key of function (such as F11) to start the computer. There will be a message as to what function key press the screen when you start your computer. You can also consult the manual of your computer or the computer mftr.'s site, or contact technical support to learn how to restore your computer if you plant from each computer mftr. He does it differently - sometimes even between models.

These machines also generally have a utility to create physical recovery disks in case the hard drive needs to be replaced or the factory restore image is somewhat damaged. If you have not created the recovery image recovery physical and/or damaged disks, contact technical support of computer mftr. to order a set of recovery disks. 1. what operating system is installed on your computer?

I suggest that you try to do a system restore to the point just before that you deleted the account.

Note: When you perform the system restore to restore the computer to a previous state, programs and updates that you have installed are removed.

Help, please! I can't download anything on my computer. I am currently using windows 8 and Google Chrome. However, I tried to use Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox - neither work. Hi Jsonlee,

Thank you for your response with the updates.

I would like to know - did you start the computer in "Safe Mode with network" to check if you are able to download in this mode.

In Safe Mode, the network drivers will not be loaded and thanks to which you cannot connect to the Internet. But in Safe Mode with networking, the network drivers are also loaded with base on the computer drivers. So, please make sure that you select "Safe Mode with network" and then try to download using your browser application.

You can also try to temporarily disable the McAfee Security program and check if this brings any change in status. To do this, please contact McAfee technical support.

Important: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

Please get back to us with updates.

    Hello

    • You receive an error message?
    • What exactly are you can't access?
    • What version of Windows are you using?

You can refer to the following steps:
    Step has.
    a. restart your computer.
    b. when the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information tap the F8 on your keyboard key repeatedly until you are presented with the screen Windows 7 Advanced Startup Options.
    c. using the arrow keys, select the desired option of Mode without failure.
    d. press the Enter key on your keyboard to start in safe mode of Windows 7.
    e. when Windows starts, you will be at a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Windows 7 goes into safe mode.
    f. do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

    Step B.
If it works fine in safe mode try performing a clean boot in order to find the cause root.
See the article below for instructions on how to start your computer in a clean boot state.

  • My computer is infected and I can't do anything.

My computer shows that it is infected and tells me that I should do something. But when I try to use the AVG virus scan, nothing happens. Everything I click on anything, whether it causes a message if poster that says that this file is infected you want to remove the threat to security. In addition, this new "security software" called AntiMalware Doctor and Solution Antivirus Pro is now on my computer. What are viruses?

It's almost as if I can't do something, because the computer gets all messed up right as it starts. How should I do?

    I'm the OP?

I looked up TDSS killer once I realized you're talking earlier, and I saw several links talks about how the TDSS killer messed up their UBS Ports. Did do something wrong when they ran the program?

The internet does not work in normal mode or safe and when I run the Diagnostic it says something about HTTP and two other forms of web, but I was able to get the updates to SAS and AVG before I ran the scans. But yes I know that focus on one thing at a time.

Nobody talked yet RUNDLL, what is it? This error arose after that I ran SAS. It appears also on my laptop, but the file that talks about each of them is different.

    1. Yes, you are the OP (original poster)

    2. I never heard talk of TDSS Killer waste USB ports. I can't say it didn't happen, but have never heard of him. In addition, Kapersky, TDSS Killer manufacturers, is not likely to clear a scanner with these potential effects without providing a warning of the same thing. I can speculate only there was another common link in the case where the USB key is affected.

    3. I did, in fact, deal with RUNDLL errors. Refer to my post immediately after your inquisition about the same thing. I told you these type errors are very common when dealing with the removal of malicious software. Basically, these errors are the result of the registry requires the execution of a file that is no longer exist due to the file being malware and removed by the malware scanner. My exact post is the following:

"EDIT: these errors always occur as a result of malware." It is part of the malware THAT deleted SAS. The file is NOT a legitimate file. Keep scanning. »

    4. it is very strange that you were able to boot into normal mode and connect to internet before, but now you can't.

OP wrote > I'm normal now. I can't access the internet. The only things that I've used so far is rkill, SAS, and am currently in the middle of scan AVG. So far, it took 1 hour and 45 minutes and analyzed more than a quarter of 1 million objects.

My last thought on this subject is to locate the disk and clean install as recommended by PA Bear.

    can not download or update

I have a laptop Toshiba Satellite running Windows Vista.  About 4 months ago it stopped being able to download anything. I can't watch attached, or the computer will allow me to update things like... Adobe Flash Player. I turned off my Kapersky anti-virus program and tried to look all filtering of e-mail settings. Nothing has worked.  When I click 'Download' attachment (Hotmail account), it gives me three options... open, save, cancel... When I click Open or save he responds quickly unable to download... try again or cancel are my only options.  If I click on start it immediately opens the same question... try again or cancel.  Can anyone help? My daughter needs to send me a pdf file, so I can print for the school.

    Hello

1 did you changes in the computer before this problem?
    2. meet you download only with Hotmail account problem?
    3. what web browser do you use?

    Method 1:

I suggest that you have temporarily disable or uninstall the security software installed and check if the problem is resolved.

    Uninstall or change a program

If you do not disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network during the time that your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

After turning on my computer I can't start live TV in media center.
It's just there for a few seconds then it gives me a disk error and tells me to restart either the media center or Windows. No help! The only way to get the work TV power is on the backup and Restore Center, and use system restore to return to a previous restore point. The restore point doesn't have to be anything in particular. It may be a system on-demand restore point, before or after turning on the computer. It just makes no sense what so ever.
My system is a Dell XPS 410 with Vista servie pack 2. I had this problem, since the computer is new, nearly two years ago. Dell support is running out of ideas.

What are the details of the error which mentions the disc error?

Try running ChkDsk to check your drive for errors. Right click on your drive icon / properties / tools / error checking.  Try first by checking do not each box (that it will run in read-only mode) to see if it reports any problems file or hard drive.  If so, restart it by checking both boxes and restart to allow him to attempt to fix any problems found.

The manufacturer of the hard drive will have free diagnostic software carefully to check the status of your hard drive.

The importance only I can get to the system restore solution is the fact that a reboot is involved, if you need to restart just the error disappears too?
