I can't update Itunes to 10.6.3
Hi, I tried to update Itunes after you receive a message that a "new version of ITunes is available" but keep getting the following error message:
"An error occurred during the installation of the updates. If the problem persists, choose Tools > downloads only and try to install manually. »
I'm afraid I'm not very computer savy and don't know how to do (where can I still find 'Tools')
and what I read on forums support apparently have a lot of people are struggling, update to ITunes 10.6.3
I have a desktop HP with Windows 7. Thanks for your help.
Hello
You should be fine reinstall itnues, as long as you know how to update your library.
If you uninstall itunes, files music not get affected as they are all in the library database. If you delete the library, so that music files are affected.
To be on the safer side you can save the library folder containing music files and then proceed to uninstall itunes. Once the new version of itunes is up you can move the library folder to the location.
You can also check the Notes section from this link: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1923
I hope this helps.

I can't update itunes. then my iphone doesn´t work on this computer.
I have an iMac 9.1 10.5.8, 2.66 GHz processor and 2 GB of memory. He already has snow leopard, but I can't update to other software and I can not update itunes. then my iphone doesn´t work on this computer. What is the latest software that it supports and what are the steps to update the software and itunes?
< re-titled by host >
This machine can run the latest version of Mac OS X (10.11). You cannot update directly from 10.5, however. If you have already upgraded to Snow Leopard and have used the software update to get updated (10.6.8), then you should be able to install El Capitan from the Mac App store if you have enough disk space.
It would be wise to upgrade the RAM of your machine before attempting it, however, that 2 GB is barely enough to run the OS, never mind all the applications.
This machine can be maxed out at 8 GB of RAM.

My laptop runs on Windows Vista 64-bit Service Pack 2 and the latest version of iTunes that can be installed on it is version 12.1.2.27. After updating my iPhone 4 to the service pack 9, when I try to sync with my computer, I get an error message saying that my iPhone 4 cannot be used because it requires a newer version of iTunes. The problem is that whenever I try to update iTunes, I get an error message saying that this iTunes Installer requires Windows 7 64 - bit edition or later. My question is: are there at - it a solution for this, or can I just no longer sync my iPhone 4 on my computer?
You need to install iTunes 12.1.3. Click here for the download links.

I can't update iTunes 10 Windows
I had this problem before and a "repair" of the Apple applications from the Control Panel has fixed the problem. This time, it does not. I even restored my computer to a previous restore point where I knew that I had been able to update iTunes. This no longer works. I also tried all the suggestions of the communities without any resolution and Microsoft Support site. Does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you
Try to repair the Apple Software Update of the programs and features Control Panel and then try to install the latest version of iTunes by using the installer downloaded from the Apple website.
For general advice, see troubleshooting problems with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps described in the second case are a guide to remove everything related to iTunes and then rebuild what is often a good starting point, unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach.
Review the other boxes and other support documents list to the bottom of the page, in case one of them applies.
More information area has direct links with the current and recent buildings if you have problems to download, must revert to an older version or want to try the version of iTunes for Windows (64-bit-for old video cards) as a workaround for problems with installation or operation, or compatibility with QuickTime software or a third party.
Backups of your library and device should be affected by these measures but there are links to backup and recovery advice there.

Original title: I can't update iTunes for the life of me!
I get "Error writing to file C:\Config.Msi\4de64c3.rbf check that you have access to this directory"
I just bought an iPad and wanted to put pics on it from my PC. It must be through iTunes 10.6.3 or later version. I'm completely frustrated by this. I was not able to update my iTunes in months.

Hey everybody,
This is my first post. A couple of years, I bought a used Macbook. I never did update (it is so long and then I decide to Watch youtube videos... it is not used for work or school). So now, I've updated the Yosemite and I want to get everything updated and it requires that I put a password of the former owner apple ID to update iTunes, iPhoto and iMovie. How can I get around this without reformatting and losing thousands of photos and all my files.
Thank you guys.
If you are the legal owner of the computer, but if the software you want is owned by another user is not yours. You cannot add any other purchases to your ID. You own, or that they are.
backup with time machine
move all your data in the folder user to an external drive or a flash drive is formatted in a format not mac or by checking the box "ignore this volume permissions" in get info of this device.
do a clean install of the operating system
create a new administrative account
the Time Machine restore requests
transfer your data from external sites back to the new account.

iPod Classic stopped display work. Work displayed in iTunes. Updated iTunes to 12.4 but did not help. I can see how to check and uncheck "Display work" in iTunes but not how on the iPod as others have suggested. Need to perhaps restore and recharge.
Long ago with including works on devices was optional, and you can sometimes fix cache work on a device by not including and then add it again. This choice has long since disappeared. A complete restoration and reloading is now the only method to recreate the cache.

I have the macbook pro (OS 10.6.8) and the iphone 6 s. The latest version of iTunes is 11.4. How to synchronize or import/export files(images/music)? Fact is need to update itunes? Also you can sync ipod touch?
iOS9 on a mobile device requires iTunes 12.3 or higher, which in turn requires a computer running OSX 10.8.5 or higher. Update of the system only checks the updates for the current version of the system you run, but that itself can be updated. It may or may not be possible to upgrade your computer to the system requirements. Find your computer on the web site of http://www.everymac.com model and near the bottom of the specification of the system section, he will tell what versions of the operating system, it is able to run. If you can not run a newer system, you will not be able to sync this phone to your current computer. If she can run 10.8.5 or higher, you can either buy a download for Apple OSX 10.8 Mountain Lion code online, or you can try to install the free El Capitan OSX 10.11. El Capitan can run slower on older machines and require the additional purchase of RAM. Making a big jump in versions of system is also more likely to affect the old software.
