  I tried to update iTunes on Windows 10 and now I get the message error "there is a problem with this Windows Installer Package".
  I tried to fix it too, but it has not helped, so I uninstalled and tried to reinstall but there has not helped either. I tried almost everything I've seen in other posts.
  I use a laptop Asus series k55VJ with an original copy of Windows and has never had this problem before.

  I had my Itunes on my computer with windows 7 and it worked perfectly... I recently bought an Iphone 6s +, but Itunes does not recognize it until I have download the latest version of Itunes. I called apple and they said that I had to upgrade windows 7 to windows 10. I did and I tried to upgrade but with no luck... Whenever I try this message 'there is a problem with this Windows Installer package. A program required for this install to complete could not be run.   This machine can run the latest version of Mac OS X (10.11). You cannot update directly from 10.5, however. If you have already upgraded to Snow Leopard and have used the software update to get updated (10.6.8), then you should be able to install El Capitan from the Mac App store if you have enough disk space.

  It would be wise to upgrade the RAM of your machine before attempting it, however, that 2 GB is barely enough to run the OS, never mind all the applications.

  This machine can be maxed out at 8 GB of RAM.

  I have a solution that worked for me, when Apple's CEO did not all trying to update iTunes 10 Windows.  I do not claim that their solution was bad, just that it has not resolved the problem for me, but lead me to the solution that did.

  I have not tried all the recommendations of Apple support, being out of pocket for the time and also the uncertainty of losing the settings. Before you read this post, I tried to repair only iTunes. After reading the post above, I fixed all facilities Apple in a sequence such that the last of them was that of "Apple Software Update". I made this sequence intuitively and have no scientific reason.

  For those who need to be more aware of 10 Windows, right click the windows button, select "Programs and features" and then search for Apple. As indicated in the post above, it's the "Apple Software Update" that did the trick.

  My response was to reassure people that it works. Often, a single post does not give that confidence to give it a go!

  Hi all, grateful for the advice. I'm trying to sync my iPhone only 6 and iPod touch to my iTunes library on my Windows 7 PC. It's an older version (2012 - I can't see the exact version).   You should be fine reinstall itnues, as long as you know how to update your library.
  If you uninstall itunes, files music not get affected as they are all in the library database. If you delete the library, so that music files are affected.

  To be on the safer side you can save the library folder containing music files and then proceed to uninstall itunes. Once the new version of itunes is up you can move the library folder to the location.
