I continue to have the MSDTC error message-

a tech @ MS Store removed my MS Visual C++ 2005 and 2008 then went to download MS and reinstalled on 2008, did he do wrong?  In addition, I have more MS DTC.  Windows 7 update will fix my problems?

FYI, I restored my computer to the factory and went on the MS download site to obtain the SP2 and SP3.  MSDTC error SP3 references.  That's what he said:

Event ID: 4427 Source: MSDTC Client AND event ID: 4691 Source: COM +.

Event ID: 4427:

Failed to initialize the needed name objects. Error details: d:\comxp_sp3\com\com1x\dtc\dtc\msdtcprx\src\dtcinit.cpp:215, Pid: 2860

No battery of calls, CmdLine: C:\WINDOWS\system32\dllhost.exe /Processid: {02D4B3F1-FD88-11D1-960D-00805FC79235}

Event ID: 4691:

The runtime environment could not initialize for transactions required to support transactional components. Make sure that MS - DTC is running. (DtcGetTransactionManagerEx(): hr = 0x8004d027)

Can someone tell me how to troubleshoot application errors?

My command prompt doesn't seem to work.  I have WinXP Pro.

Windows 7 update will fix these issues?  MS Store said that they do not know.
