  2. close all open applications (that is, anything with an icon on the taskbar).

  3. double-click on the file that you saved in #1 above to run the utility. DO TAP not your keyboard until the race ends, then restart.

  TIP: Run the difficulty in default and aggressive mode.

• Center of Windows security, firewall and defender will be not turn on?

  I can not turn Windows Vista 32 bit SP2 or Windows Defender Security Center or Windows Firewall. All services are also missing: Center security, firewall, Windows Defender and Windows. Also my BITS (Background Intelligent Transfer Service) was also missing.

I also ran a fix of batch file from another topic that was supposed to restart these services and who restarted the service BITS, but still no luck with the Defender, firewall or Security Center. I turned off AVG free version (no built in firewall) and still no luck. I also ran a Microsoft fix for the Windows Firewall and it just hung and never finished. As far as I can tell that it continues to receive windows updates, 16/05/12 was his last.

  All that I really care is that it has the Windows Firewall running it is already using the free version of AVG, but it has no firewall.   The only type of protection against viruses in addition to Avast, I am sure that I have on my computer is Windows Firewall. I turned that off and am now strictly protected by the firewall of Avast. Windows Security Center notifies me of cannot have two firewalls upwards at the same time.

  Windows Security Center is not a virus protection it's just simply a place to control and view the status of the installation of malware * protection software, but also the firewall on your computer.

  Part of Windows Firewall Security Center Windows or another program?

  Windows Firewall is a separate component.

  Does Avast! Damaged, if I have another antivirus running program?

  It is not clear what might happen, but software may conflict with each other and may not work as expected.

  If you are using a router/cable modem, then you don't need to dial the modem conexant. If you are asked for the driver, then you can either install the driver or, if you want to get rid of the quite conextant modem you can remove the material completely, assuming you know how to do this. Of course, you will have to open your case and remove the conextant modem. For this I guess you have a desktop PC. A laptop would be more difficult to remove the conexant modem, unless the modem is a stand alone.

  You give no details as to your problem of not being able to install Windows 7. More information will be required before anyone can really help you with this problem. An idea of what is happenning when you try to install windows 7 and error messages would be useful; What version of Windows 7 and whether retail or OEM. By the way if you try to install an OEM copy from another PC on your computer then you will obviously have problems like the copy so attached to the first PC OEM installed on the byt the PC manufacturer.

  Update KB973704 tried to update every day since I bought my computer in 3/10.  Update KB2413381 tried to update since 11/11/10.  I talked and worked in line with technicians to fix this without solution that really worked.  The error code is 8007066F.  Can someone help me with this problem.

  Not entirely. The problem has 2 parts:

  (1) WU - is not a wise decision to restart the computer to unconditionally and inconfigurably.
  (As much as I KNOW Vista Home Premium doesn't have a GPedit to remove autoreboots)

  (2) WD - this is not a wise decision to update the database of WD by WU.

  I don't know where you see all sort in excel. The file > open in excel procedure uses this same kind as provided by the Explorer (its Explorer discovers Documents)
