    Hello Ferds,

In Windows Explorer, simply type an asterisk in the search engine to return all the files and folders in the folder parent.  You can click on any column heading to sort the results in this column.

    Mr. Doug in New Jersey

It is a good workaround (thanks Mr Wizard) If you want to view the files in this way - but the procedure does not correct how Explorer files are sorted in the records themselves. And you will have to do it every time you viewed a folder because the search procedure would not automatically from window to window transfer and may not be assigned to do.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • I do not want my files to save on my online account when I export to Word. How can I disable this feature?

Whenever I use the converter online service, it saves a copy of the file on my online account. I want to disable that. How do I do that? I find nothing in the account settings.

    Hi kennethm,.

There is no way to turn that - files are stored automatically. However, you can log into your account on https://cloud.acrobat.com/files and download your files. Once they are downloaded safely on your desktop, you can delete them from your online account.

Click the headers of the columns in the files window to rearrange them as you see fit.

If you are not alphabetical or reverse alphabetical, they are probably organized by size, type, or change date by accident. Click on the "Local files" header to go by alpha.

Hello.   I'm trying to attach photos to an email on Hotmail.  When I open the folder where I want to download the pictures, they are all placed alphabetically.  I want to arrange them in the order, they were taken, which I can do by going in "My pictures", but when I pull the file upwards again in Hotmail, they are given in alphabetical order.  Any ideas?

    Hello Oilfan,

Thank you for your message.  Since there are two ways to attach photos in Hotmail, I assume you are using the 'Attach' > 'File' version instead of "attach" > version "Photo".  To sort the folder to your liking, you can click right in the pane where you see your files > Highlight ' rearrange icons by "> select" Photos taken we.

  • Engraving of sequentially and not in alphabetical order

I'm burning photos in order. Although it each photo, album and an export to a folder. they export always in alphabetical order.

I tried a tip from a fellow online; which makes each photo album.

It's frustrating. Just how should it be?

What you are missing is that the files have no command - they do not export in any order - the program you look with provided the order according to the user settings - if you look in the finder, and then in the view finder menu, each user who views the photos can organize in many different ways, including by name, size, application , date created, etc. - you and the Photos have no control over that--the user looks a it - they do not export in any ordr of all - the Viewer control defines the order of

If you want in an order then you must export them so that the viewer can arrange in this order - usually if you export using the option of naming in the order and the viewer organized by name, they see what you want to do - but you can't control it somehow - only the viewer can

  • Windows XP does not have exe files

My computer has been infected by a virus that exceeded AVG 9.
I removed the virus using Malwarebytes but after deleting Windows does not recognize exe files more.
I tried to restore to a point before the infection, but I had recently cleaned up but a restore point and virus was present after the restoration.
I also checked the registry and checked all the entries associated with the exe files and found no errors... Suggestions that don't involve wiping the entire hard drive?  I really want to do it AGAIN... It would be the second time in a year.

This is a popular remedy for this condition:

Download the EXE File Association Fix on your desktop, unzip the file and apply it by following the instructions at the top of the page, then to restart and test.

  • 6 do not DOWNLOAD GPS files

I recently bought a 6 d, and everything was fine. I noticed that the battery was draining pretty quickly. Whenever I downloaded images I would be invited on GPS journal fles, I have accepted by download. After a week, I noticed that I had logs starting and ending whenever I removed the battery to charge and re - insert. Also, I noticed some of the logs indicated that the device was locked in my house to be exact. I quickly realized tha that GPS was still active despite the camera turned off, I could confirm when I took a day trip to the party for a photo shoot. The GPS log showed the camera traveling to the Park and back. So, I disabled the GPS until I removed the battery while charging. I was not able to download a GPS file since, even if I put GPS to GPS 'internal' in the menu. The device runs on firmware v1.1.6. [How to make paragraphs?]

There is a separate manual that accompanies your 6 d that covers the features WiFi and GPS.  It is not in the manual (some countries restrict the use of WiFi or GPS - so Canon includes this documentation in a manual for countries where the camera includes the feature WiFi & GPS.)

There is an option to enable or disable the logarithmic function.  With disconnection, the images will be marked, but the camera does not record a log of your movement.

In the GPS menu, there is the option to turn off the GPS, or enable the internal or external GPS (i.e. Canon GP - E2 GPS), but there is also a configuration menu.  In the menu setup, you'll see a caled 'GPS Logger' option.  GPS camera will record the log file, if this option is enabled.  If instead of using USB to transfer images, you use the card camera SD, the GPS of the paper used on this card (even if logging is enabled) unless you return to this menu of logging and use the option 'transfer on data card Journal '.

Interest... it has also an option to change the GPS update interval.  I noticed that Canon does not mention the impact of this on the lives of the battery for the 6 d, but I have a 5 d III with the plug-in for Canon GP - E2 and they DO not mention the interval to update to impact battery life.   The default update interval is 15 seconds.  I set mine to 30 seconds because I walk usually when you use the camera and I tend to find a place with an interesting topic and stay there for awhile while I shoot... I don't need GPS to update my position very often.

As you have already discovered, if you "activate" the GPS, then it remains on at all times when the battery is in the camera - even if the unit itself is 'off '.  There was a bit of discussion on this and Canon seems to indicate that they did this because the GPS may take some time to acquire a position statement and they did not want users to turn off their camera for a moment (for example when changing lenses for example), return - turn on the camera and have then no data position for a few minutes as they try to resume shooting.  I think it's the general consensus of the community, the community wish Canon would have set up a delayed start (for example don't not turn off immediately - from simply turn the camera off to swap lenses would not cut the GPS, but do power off after a certain period of time - perhaps 30 minutes.)  Although it sounds like a reasonable solution, there has been no update firmware to change how the camera & GPS manage power.

If you let the GPS running and that you do not remove the battery, then you'll probably find that the battery is exhausted the next day.

  • Impossible to install XP SP3 (could not find the file specified)

I looked at and followed the steps described in

Article ID: 950717 - steps to take before you install Windows XP Service Pack 3

    I do not have

    • Microsoft Shared Computer Toolkit
    • Pack MUI Remote Desktop Connection (RDP) 6.0 (update 925877 for Windows XP)

I tried to install SP3 with and without my Antivirus, Antispyware and firewall running programs (several times – 4, 5, or more).  Each time, I get an error staing "could not find the specified file."  Then after being told that SP3 can not be installed and that "Windows XP has been partially updated and may not work properly", I have to restart my system.

I also followed all the steps in this article (Article ID: 950718 - how to troubleshoot an installation fails in Windows XP Service Pack 3) and still the same thing as above.

I tried to download SP3 directly from the Download Center - same results as before.

I started the BITS service and tried again - same results as above.

I've disabled auto updates and removed to software distribution (download renamed folder as shown) - same results as shown above.

I tried to restore my system to an earlier date - 4 these attempts using different dates and set points during the last wee - ALL have failed.

I also tried the proposals 1 to 3 in this article (Article ID: 950249-how to remove Windows XP Service Pack 3 from your computer), and none of these steps worked.

I spent over 8 hours today and yesterday a couple just trying to solve this problem and still don't get anywhere.  I am beyond frustrated at this point.  I know that say Windows can not work properly, and I need my computer to do my job.  Any help would be appreciated.

You could do a repair installation with a CD of Windows XP with SP3 integrated already.  However, unless this is a new installation that you have installed SP2 on so you could get then SP3 installed on it - you have obviously been broadcast for some time without a lot of fixed security and tastes and your system could very well be stripped because of this.

    Search for malware:

You can disable hibernation if it is enabled and you do not...

When you Hibernate your computer, Windows saves the contents of the system memory in the hiberfil.sys file. As a result, the size of the hiberfil.sys file will always be equal to the amount of physical memory in your system. If you don't use the Hibernate feature and want to reclaim the space used by Windows for the hiberfil.sys file, perform the following steps:

-Start the Control Panel Power Options applet (go to start, settings, Control Panel, and then click Power Options).
-Select the Hibernate tab, uncheck "Activate the hibernation", and then click OK. Although you might think otherwise, selecting never under "Hibernate" option on the power management tab does not delete the hiberfil.sys file.
-Windows remove the "Hibernate" option on the power management tab and delete the hiberfil.sys file.

You can control the amount of space your system restore can use...

    1. Click Start, right click my computer and then click Properties.
    2. click on the System Restore tab.
    3. highlight one of your readers (or C: If you only) and click on the button "settings".
4 change the percentage of disk space you want to allow... I suggest moving the slider until you have about 1 GB (1024 MB or close to that...)
    5. click on OK. Then click OK again.

You can control the amount of space used may or may not temporary Internet files...

Empty the temporary Internet files and reduce the size, that it stores a size between 64 MB and 128 MB...

-Open a copy of Microsoft Internet Explorer.
    -Select TOOLS - Internet Options.
-On the general tab in the section 'Temporary Internet files', follow these steps:
-Click on 'Delete the Cookies' (click OK)
-Click on "Settings" and change the "amount of disk space to use: ' something between 64 MB and 128 MB. (There may be many more now.)
    -Click OK.
-Click on 'Delete files', then select "Delete all offline content" (the box), and then click OK. (If you had a LOT, it can take 2 to 10 minutes or more).
-Once it's done, click OK, close Internet Explorer, open Internet Explorer.
