  Ask the help of the web page for your first question.

  For the second, you are infected/infested and need to clean up.  What AntiVirus you are using has not been able or has not updated or you had an interruption in service.

  Search for malware:

  Download, install, execute, update and perform analyses complete system with the two following applications:

  • MalwareBytes (FREE)
  • SuperAntiSpyware (FREE)

  Remove anything they find.  Reboot when necessary.  (You can uninstall one or both when finished.)

  Search online with eSet Online Scanner.

  The less you have to run all the time, most things you want to run will perform:

  Use Autoruns to understand this all starts when your computer's / when you log in.  Look for whatever it is you do not know using Google (or ask here.)  You can hopefully figure out if there are things from when your computer does (or connect) you don't not need and then configure them (through their own built-in mechanisms is the preferred method) so they do not - start using your resources without reason.

  It seems to me that the Word process does not and is not able to create macros to create PDF documents with the Cosmi perfect PDF Creator.   I have Win7 Pro SP1 x 64.  I downloaded WindowsXPMode_en - us.exe (from Microsoft downloads) and run it.  The installation seems to work OK (I've specified a different location for the parent virtual hard disk file).  Then, installation happening and I provide the information requested (name of user and password for the XP Mode), updates Windows and OK to the issue of sharing.  The installation program then reports the following error:

  I get the error even if I try manually configure XP Mode (use the Setup Wizard).  I downloaded the installer XPMode (3 times) and reinstalled several times, always with the same result.  If it helps, I can't locate anywhere .vsv file.

  Many utilities and programs must be run as administrator in order to function properly, especially the more utility and programs that have not been updated for Vista yet.

  All the shortcuts in Windows Vista have a special property that you can set which will allow the torun as an administrator application.

  To set this property, just right click on any shortcut and click Advanced on the shortcut page to access the Advanced Properties dialog box.

  You will see a dialog with a checkbox for "run as administrator".
