That's what indicates the screen.

I need a copy of XP TSE start I think?
Hi Garrett.
This message type indicates an attempt to start the operating system from a network device.
Check the order of boot sequence in the BIOS. Make your hard drive as the priority.
Important: changing the BIOS/complementary metal oxide semiconductor (CMOS) settings can cause serious problems that may prevent your computer from starting properly. Microsoft cannot guarantee that problems resulting from the configuration of the BIOS/CMOS settings can be solved. Changes to settings are at your own risk.
If the condition above is not true then you may be able to get the disc from the manufacturer to perform any additional troubleshooting steps.
In addition, you can consult the section below, which provides information on troubleshooting steps to perform when you encounter this error: http://support.gateway.com/s/Checklists/BPC/ck20070907117.shtml#MBR
I suggest you to contact the manufacturer of the computer.

"OS not found"
Hello... My laptop out there today and I'm trying to start it, it says "operating system not found '... I guess I reinstall windows Vista but I can't find any cd/dvd... I dontt think that I was given when I bought my laptop a few years ago... Do you think I can get another copy (free of charge)) LHello
If you have never received a recovery disk when you bought your laptop there should be a recovery Partition on the hard drive to reinstall Vista on how you purchased your computer.
The recovery process can be started by pressing a particular combination of the key or keys at startup. (Power on / start)
Maybe it's F10, F11, Alt + F10, etc., depending on the manufacturer.
Ask them to the proper key sequence.
Also some manufacturers have more available recovery Vista disc.
If this happens, you may need to try this instead:
You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.
Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.
And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs
Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:
"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '
http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html
And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.
"How to activate Vista normally and by Activation of the phone '

I have an Acer Aspire 5516, with pre-installed Windows Vista. I didn't know that it did not come with a recovery disk UNTIL my system crashed! During a routine virus scan, I got a blue screen saying a major problem has been found and the system has been shut down. I followed the instructions to gracefully shut down my laptop. When I turned this back on after the "Acer" logo he went to a black screen with info on my computer and the last line States "not found operating system". That's when I discovered there was no recovery disc & it is integrated into the system. To access this system you we F8 to enter safe mode, then Alt F10 to access 'erecovery management system. Neither one of these functions operate! Still getting the black screen with "operating system" not found I have a Windows XP my laptop previous. What I was wondering is if I can load on my Acer, possibly on a partition, in order to be able to get into my laptop and save all of my files? I'm terrified of losing everything I have! I have thousands of pictures that I can't replace. If anyone can help please do! I am on a very limited income & can not really afford professional help. Thank you very much in advance!
Hello
normally with an Acer you press Alt + F10 at startup to start the hidden recovery partition recovery, not F8, then this combo
but you do not have an option to save your data, that
in daily use acers normally have a system partition, a partition of data to save your data, etc. to and also this hidden partition recovery
and read this on data recovery, too;
Data recovery
1. remove the hard drive and it slave in another computer
2 buy or borrow a USB disk drive hard put in yout case then plug it into another computer and read the hard drive like this
3. try Knoppix
http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html
BUT this method 3 depends on your hardware in the computer that failed
read this information about method 3:
http://www.Knopper.NET/Knoppix/index-en.html
Download/save the file Knoppix Live CD ISO above.
http://isorecorder.alexfeinman.com/isorecorder.htm
Download the Vista software from the link above.
After installing above ISO burning software, right click on the Knoppix ISO file > copy the Image to a CD.
Knoppix is not installed on your PC; use only the resources of your PC, RAM, graphics etc.
Change the boot order in YOUR computer/laptop to the CD/DVD Drive 1 in the boot order.
Plug a Flash Drive/Memory Stick, BOOT with the Live CD, and you should be able to read the hard drive.
When the desktop loads, you will see at least two drive hard icons on the desktop (one for your hard drive) and one for the USB key.
Click on the icons of hard drive to open and to understand which drive is which.
Click the icon for the USB drive and click on "Actions > Change the read/write mode" so you can write to disk (it is read-only by default for security reasons).
Now to find the files you want to back up, just drag and drop them on the USB. When you're done, shut down the system and remove the USB key.

Re: Satellite U400: operating system not found then the installation of the OS
I have a toshiba satellite u400 with is come with VISTA.
Because I don't like VISTA, I then installed WINDOWS XP with a multi boot.
Everything worked well. But one day I want to resize my partitions I used Paragon partition manager.
This product is required to operate only to resize my xp partition, so he asks me a start. And then nothing works.
I try to fix my problem with a fresh install, but it seems that the boot sector was not correct.
Then I completely format my hard disk on another computer with a USB CABLE.When I try to install VISTA, XP or LINUX on a CD or DVD, I ask the multiboot with F12
I chose to boot from the CD/DVD built-in, but I get only "OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND',It's as if the BIOS test the HARD to FIND something specific, and it does not find.
When my PC worked correctly I could boot from the drive to dvd without problem.I called the SUPPORT CENTER of about 10 days, but I have no answer.
So if someone could help me.
Thank you.
Hello
OPERATING SYSTEM NOT FOUND message appears generally if the laptop has attempted to boot from the HARD drive and didn t find the operating system.
But I put t understand why you formatted the HARD drive using the USB cable?
Please insert HARD drive in the Bay of laptops HARD drive and check if the HARD drive is recognized in the BIOS!
If the HARD drive has been recognised so I recommend you to take a disk Win XP Home and at the start of this disc.As I m not wrong not you will need to first install the SATA drivers to recognize the HARD drive.
The fact is that the laptop supports the SATA controller and SATA drivers are needed to get the HARD drive recognized by Win XP.Well, after you have booted from the Win XP disc you need to format the new HDD by using the NTFS file format and should then follow with the installation of the OS.

Last night my operating system not found a set file and reloaded among other Outlook express things - is it possible to recover the address book, folders and emails?
original title: Outlook Express problem
Hi John,.
Try to locate your data from outlook express:
Click on start-> Run & paste-> %userprofile%\Local Settings\Application Data\Identities
You will see the folders as {xxxxxx-xxxx-xxx-xx-xxxxxxxxxxxx} click-> Microsoft-> Outlook Express, you should be able to locate the DBX files, these are the outlook database files. Ideally, you should see inbox.dbx, Sent Items.dbx... check the size of the file.
Now to get it back on outlook express, open outlook express-> click on tools-> Options-> maintenance-> the storage location.
Click on change location, and then select the location that you have your data in.
For the address book, see: click Start-> Run and paste the following:
%USERPROFILE%\Application Data\Microsoft\Address Book
Address book with wab extension, these should reflect your Outlook Express user name.
I hope this helps.

I have a computer laptop gateway with vista and im stuck at "bootmgr is missing". and I can't even it at the command prompt, you know the c:? Help
I can't get a secure boot or anything. are there secret shortcut keys or anything like that? !! ??Dear klh76
You need a USB FLASH DRIVE, you can transfer the files from the Recovery Console Windows Vista from any other pc or laptop running Windows Vista, go to the backup and restore on the other computer and click on create a drive recovery system on the file menu. Once done, insert the usb key into the laptop, you want to fix, start by using selected peripheral USB device as MBR, follow these steps on screen, you can repair a corrupt Windows Vista it or restore to a previous restore point.

After I press start, the splash screen appears briefly, then a black screen stating:
Pre-boot EXecution Environment (PXE) v2.1
PXE - E61:Media test failure, check cable
PXE - MOF: exit ROM PXE.
Operating system not found· Try to remove your hard drive and unplug the cable. Then re - attach the cable and re - install the HDD. Somehow, the cable may have come loose and it may solve the problem. If this does not work, follow these steps:
Do a startup repair, boot from the disk Installation of Windows Vista genuine (or one that you can borrow from someone) or a recovery disc. Here is the procedure: http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/tutorial148.html. You may need to change the BIOS to do first the CD drive in the boot sequence to boot from the CD. To do this, hold the screen that tells you the key F to push to enter the menu start or start of installation. Push it quickly. Make the changes, save your work and exit. Put the CD in the drive and reboot. When you are prompted, press any key to boot from the CD.
If you do not have a floppy disk, you can make a bootable recovery disk by using http://neosmart.net/blog/2008/windows-vista-recovery-disc-download/ with burning software like: http://www.snapfiles.com/get/active-isoburner.html and, of course, a blank CD.
If this does not resolve the problem, try the following:
To run the Bootrec.exe tool, you must start Windows RE. To do this, follow these steps:
1. put the Windows Vista installation disc in the disc drive, and then start the computer.
2. press a key when you are prompted.
3. Select a language, a time, a currency, a keyboard or an input method, and then click Next.
4. click on repair your computer.
5. click on the operating system that you want to repair, and then click Next.
6. in the System Recovery Options dialog box, click command prompt.
7. type Bootrec.exe, and then press ENTER.
Note If rebuilding the BCD does not resolve the startup problem, you can export and delete the BCD, and then run this option again. In doing so, you ensure that the BCD is completely rebuilt. To do this, type the following commands at the command prompt Windows RE:· bcdedit/export C:\BCD_Backup
· c:
· Boot CD
· BCD attrib s h - r
· Ren c:\boot\bcd BCD.old
· Bootrec /RebuildBcd
Good luck and I hope this helps!

Original title: iTunes Question
I recently bought a new Windows 7 laptop and downloaded iTunes. I have hundreds of songs already purchased and need to download on this computer... when I access my account and then click on download, I get a message that says that I must allow the computer. Any suggestions on what to do?
Thank you!
You can check with Apple because they created iTunes. Check the Apple Web site, I found the following FAQ on what you need to do to allow a new device:
- Open iTunes
- From the Store menu, choose authorize this computer.
- When prompted, enter your Apple ID and password, and then click allow.
Note: if you already allowed iTunes to another PC and that you no longer use this computer, you should have allowed him out before getting rid of it. If you don't do this, you might consider off allowing all devices first, then allowing the new PC.

I worked on the Web site of our Church and all of a sudden this week, my computer does not connect to the site. I get a message saying that the connection to the server was reset while the page is loading. Can anyone has any ideas on how I fix?
The error message "the connection was reset" can be caused by a bug for the attack of the BEAST fix (browser exploit against SSL/TLS) that the server does not support.

Hi Gary,.
Welcome to the Microsoft Community and thanks for posting the question.
According to the description, you have problems with the computer not start.
This problem can occur because of a hardware problem.
Proceed as from the link below and check if that helps.
Warning: Be careful when you change the settings of the BIOS (Basic Input Output System). The BIOS interface is designed for advanced users, and it is possible to change a setting that can prevent your computer from starting properly. BIOS update should be made only if necessary (to solve a compatibility problem, for example). It can be a complicated process, and if an error occurs, your computer could be rendered inoperative. Be sure to observe the instructions of the manufacturer.
Meet us if you face problems with computer not start or any other issue of Windows, and we would be happy to help you.
Good day!
Hope this information helps.
