I get the error 'SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER' on protected pages (Gmail, Twitter, Wikipedia, etc.)
I started getting the SEC_ERROR_UNKNOWN_ISSUER on Gmail, Twitter, Wikipedia and other https sites. In addition, LinkedIn and Reddit displayed incorrectly - no images, stripped like old html Web sites. There is no similar problem with IE or Chrome. I went through the troubleshooting pages and do not use any anti-virus, my system clock is fine, I deleted the file cert8.db and uninstall-reinstall did not help either.
Yes, it was a matter of backend on my network. Installation of an additional certificate corrected the problem. Apparently other browsers install the necessary certificate automatically, but must be installed manually on Firefox sometimes.

· Are you referring to Data Execution Prevention (DEP)?
If so, check if turn off DEP support. To do this, follow these steps.
a. click Start, click run, type sysdm.cpland then click OK.
b. on the tab Advanced , under performance, click settings.
c. on the Data Execution Prevention tab, use one of the following procedures:
· Select the check box next to the program that you want to turn off DEP for and then click OK.
· If the program is not in the list, click Add. Navigate to the folder Program Files , search for the executable file of the program (it will have the .exe extension) and then click Open.

I'm on Win7 64 bit. Initially, I uninstalled because a program has changed my page of the new tab to something unwanted and I literally had no way to change this back. Now, every time I reinstall, I get the error "cannot load the profile, it may be missing or unreachable", and I can't create a new profile.
