I have a computer 2 wireless home phone network, only administrator there?

I have a wireless home network and I got a connected laptop. I added another one last week and I don't have administrator rights. I have no firewall or virus. I just want to know how to give the two pcs of admin rights so I can update my other laptop. We have administrator and the other not.

It is quite easy to stop the menu "Select the hardware profile" to appear... Once you get connected to Windows.  Your post is not clear is whether or not you can do.

What version of Windows XP is on each computer (Home, Pro, Media Center)?  If you can connect to Windows, made a click right my computer and select Properties.  Also a report of the service pack.

If you use the built-in account named 'Administrator' for daily use and connect your computers between them and the Internet "without protection of firewall or a virus", you should probably do a clean install of Windows on both computers.

If you have important data on computers it back up to an external drive and scan with good antivirus and anti-malware applications before copying this back on your computers (after install it clean).
