  I went the same route. I started to want to learn web design and the Muse is an excellent tool. The code it generates, however, not to use it in Dreamweaver. This could be done, I think this isn't worth it, even for a real Geek. Once you get to Muse you will find there are things missing, stuff, you want to do, but are just tough in Muse or you can buy a widget. It is possible in DW and you get which through subscription, so it makes sense. Me what I know now, I'll go directly to DW to learn, except if you want results right now. If you don't want something to cause I stay with Muse and maybe learn to animate CC to add some pizazz to the site. If you only want a simple layout and a couple supporting stick with Muse pages if you want a larger site use DW.   As you confirmed Muse request the serial number at the launch. Most of the time this happens because of Hosts file on the computer.

  Please go ahead and rename the hosts file on your computer and you should be all set. Here are the steps for MAC and Windows.

  Windows:

  1. navigate to the following location.  C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc

  2. rename the "Hosts" file to "hostsold".

  3 restart Muse and sign in using your Adobe ID, you should be all set.

  MAC:

  1. go in the Finder > go > go to folder

  2. type / etc and press return

  3 Rename the "Hosts" file to "hostsold".

  4 restart Muse and sign with your Adobe ID, you should be all set.
