I have just remove its?

I know this is a strange question, but it is Possible to remove the Audio Device completely?

I am running Vista on a Latitude D531. When I clicked on the display panel and click on sounds, speech and Audio devices I get a message that States "No. Audio Device' gloomly: smileysad:

So I went and downloaded the SigmaTel driver in the Dell Download Center (and I didn't have to say that I am running Vista on a Latitude D531) but I get a message that it was not the correct driver.

What I've done
In order to hear my thoughts on what how the problem may have orginated...

(1) I had a lot of audio players on my laptop and they were interfere between them, so I deleted a bunch of programs that looked like audio related, then downloaded the one I am (try to) use right now.

(2) I deleted the audio icon in my system tray. I wanted to go around this guy boring to make room so I can see the applications that I opened but I think he may have gotten back my implementation of his disappearance. Now, I don't hear all the applications I have running. Bit boring!

(3) some other odd stroke of luck that I don't know. Althougth my laptop is in good health and had no bugs, it is still relatively new and I haven't downloaded a lot of junk (with the exception of 3 audio devices) - it worked pretty well.

Can you help me please? What? What do you say? I don't hear too well, my audio device is disabled.

Thank you!

-Brett
