I have lost my product key
I have lost my product key, so I can't activate windows8 pro. I lost my only product key sticker. but I have other details such as product Id, product no, n serial and etc how to activate windows?
Post proposed by the facilitator for the appropriate forum placed
Hello
Pre-installed with Windows 8/8.1 the product key on the operating systems (HP, Acer, etc.) is integrated in the motherboard BIOS, so that the problem of sticker joint record lost or worn out is no more.
You don't say where you bought 8 Pro of.
Kind regards.

I want reinstal windows but have lost my product key and have no disc to do what I have to do I know I can do it myself and don't want to pay someone to do it for me
Hello
Where was the product key you have lost?
And you have a pre-installed OEM license or a retail license?
If it is an OEM preinstalled contact license (Acer, Toshiba, etc.), the manufacturer and, ask them if you have a recovery Partition and if so, how to use it to reinstall the operating system to a new State by pressing F10, F11, or a sequence of different at startup button. or if you do not have a recovery partiiton asked to send you recovery disks, what they should do for a small fee.
Or ways above to reinstall the operating system normally requires your share product key information

I want to reinstall windows xp professional on my laptop. I have the original windows xp cd but I doubt that the product key given behind my laptop works or not... Please tell me what's going to work when I install the syestem of operation from the original cd I lost the key that I got with the cd?Here are some utilities which will show your XP product key:
Belarc Advisor: http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html
(He did a good job of providing a wealth of information.
However may not detect a key to office, then try one of the other two below)Also: http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/product_cd_key_viewer.html
and: http://www.magicaljellybean.com/keyfinder.shtmlAnd Yes, a "Retail" CD will work with your XP CD. If you have an OEM CD must be for your make and model of computer.

Go to your computer manufacturer's support web site
and search for the Windows XP drivers for your specific computer or motherboard model number. If there are Windows XP drivers, then download to a folder on your hard drive and burn it to a CD/DVD.
Then, after installing XP install all device drivers, starting with the mother/chipset, LAN, Audio, USB, SATA card, drivers, and so on.

Need to reinstall XP but have lost my product key
I have a windows computer that is so old that, until recently I only ran from 98SE to this topic. A few years ago, I bought XP - just before XP exploded the market, actually. When I installed it, I discovered that the only programs I've used with no matter what regularity still existed, a couple who worked in the BACK (!) and the other who would not run in XP. So I went back to 98SE.
Recently, I bought a Macbook Pro. I have an emulator on BACK, so I run now these two programs on the Macbook. And I have a Mac program, which replaces the one that did not run in XP. But (1) I need the Macbook to the old Windows of the network computer, and it doesn't seem to work with 98SE; people on various forums suggest that it will be easier with XP. (2) I downloaded a new program that does not run under 98SE, but works on XP, Vista and 7. (My old windows computer is too low to run whatever happened to XP. Even XP stem it.)So now I want to reinstall XP. I was barely in the process when the message came to enter my product key. The problem is that shortly after the first installation, I put the disc in a box, without getting into account that the product key is on the original cardboard jacket (or whatever XP came in--I don't even know). I've looked everywhere and can't find it, and apparently I copy down the key to product no more.Y at - it * all * way to reinstall? Or get my product key for Microsoft (I register XP when I installed it first)? I can't reach tech support tonight, I get an error message.Hi DudleyBrooks,

original title: product key
I have the DVD original, but lost the product key; would it not be in one of the files? What is my option?
It would depend on the brand and model of your PC. Know also there are generally two types of product keys: single and "OEM Royal golden master" (which is like a volume license key).
Are you absolutely sure that you have lost your product key? If you bought a PC pre-installed with Windows XP, you probably have this unique product key (the) on the COA sticker that is expected to be on the case (or at the bottom of the laptop).
In addition, if your PC does not work, you can use a program like Belarc Advisor or Magical Jellybean Finder to get your key (but if you have a gold key, it's one that will appear, not one single).
Finally, you can not even your key. If your 'original' DVD (or CD maybe?) is a recovery CD, it will very probably return your PC to its original state pre-activated. If it's a Dell brand XP installation CD (and you install it on a Dell computer!), then she too is pre-activated; It would be not asked to enter a key during installation.

Desktop computer, Windows XP pro.
If you have lost your product key XP, the best option is to call Microsoft. Call on (800) 248-0655 Microsoft Licensing Fulfillment Center toll-free number from Monday to Friday from 06:00 to 15:00 Pacific time.
Otherwise, you need to replace your Windows XP by purchasing a full commercial version. Amazon and NewEgg always sell. This is no different than needing to replace any other type of item you have lost.
In the case of a contact of computer (HP, Dell, etc.) OEM OEM purchase recovery media. It is generally not very expensive. MS - MVP - Elephant Boy computers - don't panic!

I had to reinstall the OS on my PC vista home, but I lost my product key:
How can I get an another vista product key to replace the one I lost and get my PC up and running again?
How can I get an another vista product key to replace the one I lost and get my PC up and running again?
Hey cwelect
recovery discs manufacturers do not normally require you to enter a product key during installation of recovery
If you contact the manufacturer of the computer recovery discs
and if you have performed a clean reinstall of vista and wiped hard drive there is no way to recover this hard drive product key
and as you say you have lost the product key or the computer case or packaging dvd unfortunately, we can not help you with replacement product keys
