Thanks for the screenshots. Very useful.

It seems that you are going to the Help Menu and selecting 'Elements Inspiration Browser' which should be the Aggiomamenti that put you in your screenshot. Keep out of the way. If you go as far as its connection dialog box, quit just there. This seems to be

associated with photoshop.com, which was abandoned long ago. As I mentioned before, there will be thumbnails

and other elements of photoshop.com in your program, but none of the items are available to you.

In respect of assistance, I would also keep away from updates. The update that needs to be done for version 9 (Photoshop Elements and Premiere Elements)

is very limited and are those already mentioned. If you decide to install the 9.0.3 update for Photoshop Elements 9, please use the link to Adobe

already provided. As mentioned, 9.0.3 is not an update for Photoshop Elements 9. However, you will probably get what is called nag messages except if you install 9.0.3 update. I would simply ignore the messages of AGN. I don't think you can do these messages "do not show again".

What you should focus in respect of aid is the first entry '? Help of Photoshop Elements... F1' and its first Elements 9. It's

where I suspect you might find the Photoshop elements 9 help PDF and the first elements 9 help PDF in Italian.

Please consider and let me know if you're OK with the above.

    Thank you.

  • KB931125 - update certificate root & update KB973685 - XML Core Services.

    Hello

Is could someone please tell me if I need to install KB931125 - update root certificates. I'm confused you see.

Looking at information I can find about this implementation updated seems to suggest that it could be applied to people who run IE7. I am running Win XP Pro SP3 and IE8 and so not sure I need it or not.

    Another question:
I found an update for Microsoft XML Core Services 4.0 SP3 (KB973685) but have also heard that it can cause problems with the synchronization of time after installation. It seems ZA Security Suite with firewall havoc. Could someone please tell me if:

    (a) the update causing problems in some cases.
    and, if any
    (b) has a different version that corrects the problem that is deployed or is there a workaround?

Answers would be appreciated - particularly on the issue of XML as seems to be important for the security.

    Thanks in advance...

A1. Yes, you should always install an update of the available root certificates to enjoy enhanced security of IE8.

Updates of root certificates come out every 2-3 months. While the updates of root certificates are installed automatically in Vista and Win7, Windows XP users must install manually via the Windows Update (CUSTOM scan) Web site.

A2. KB973685 is not a security update. If you (1) do NOT have an installed application that uses Microsoft XML Core Services (MSXML) to treat the XHTML files and (2) that generates a lot of requests when it attempts to retrieve the definition files of Type of Document (DTD) well known to a Server Web World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and (3) these redundant retrieval requests cause the W3C Server block requests DTD you do NOT need to install KB973685 (IMHO).

What is the difference between Windows® updates and HP Support Assistant?

Two updates are important and cover the different aspects of your computer. Windows updates are limited to updates of the operating system. HP Support Assistant provides software updates specifically related to your HP or Compaq computer, including software updates for HP driver updated and BIOS updates.

In rare cases, for example an update driver software, Windows and HP Support Assistant, try to provide the same update. The two applications will check, however, if the new version of the driver is already installed. If it were, nor application download or reinstall the driver.

    Hi billy2wheels,

Exactly how you try to install the drivers?

This indicates that the Setup file is corrupted.

If it is an installation file that you downloaded, the downloaded file may be corrupted. Try to download the file again.

If it is a file on a Setup disk, contact the vendor for a replacement drive

You can download the driver from the sony below link:

  • can I download a "boot drive" for HP Pavilion laptop g6, product #: B0N33PA #ABG?

My laptop failed to update graphics card. I have tried reintalling and installation of different ways a few times with no success. I tried a roll on the last good parameter twice in a row, and since then it has gone from bad to worse.  Now once the computer has windows 7, I get the BSOD. That I can download or buy a boot disk, so I can start over?

    Hello

If you want to reload the operating system, here are some options.

    1. you can order a set of replacement recovery disks using the link below - it will reinstall the operating system, all the drivers, and almost all of the original software (the exception being often tests of MS Office).  They also recreate the original scores, including the recovery Partition - the cost varies a bit depending on where you live, but they are generally inexpensive.

    Order HP recovery disks.

2 another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc 'detail '.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the character product activation key 25 on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

You may need, additional drivers and software are here.

  • Need to download Elements 5.0 for the new laptop

Hi there, I bought Elements 5.0 in 2007 and continue to use it. But I can't find a place to download a copy on my new laptop. 5.0 is no longer supported and available for download? Thanks, kj

All the known resources for download of older versions of items go no further than version 8.  It is likely that version 5 would be problematic on a newer OS if it could be installed at all.

  • Error message on the download of update of firmware for airport

Get an error message when you try to download the update of firmware for the airport. Have disabled the Wi - Fi for all devices; powering down of the airport; MacBook connected to the router via a cable; access to Internet but the download update still gives an error. Any ideas on haw to get the update, or what is the problem? Thank you.

The error message say, exactly? What version of Mac OS X you are running on this machine?

For updates of the firmware to work, you must be connected to your device from the airport and connected to the Internet at the same time. If you have a situation where you have to disconnect from the Internet to connect to your airport device, it does not work, at least not for the first time, you have to download a firmware version for the same model of AirPort base station.

  • Should I update my root certificates?

I was wondering if the root certificates must be updated on my computer?

Yes. Install the update of the current root certificates to enjoy added security of IE7 and IE8.

Assuming WinXP & IE7 or IE8: go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com . Select CUSTOM and scan | Install all security critical updates available (e.g. KB976325).  If an update of root certificates is listed in the category of the optional software updates on the left, the install to enjoy enhanced Internet Explorer security.

Root certificate updates are usually released every 2 or 3 months. (The last update was published 24 Nov-09.) While Windows Update automatically installs updates certificates root in Vista and Win7, WinXP users will need to install them manually by the foregoing. ~ Robear Dyer (PA Bear) ~ MS MVP (that is to say, mail, security, Windows & Update Services) since 2002 ~ WARNING: MS MVPs represent or work for Microsoft

  • Optional updates must be installed and which is an update of certificate root?

original title: Questions about optional updates

I noticed that refer you to the root certificates:

    [quote]
Note: If a root certificates update is listed in the category of optional software updates on the left side of the scan results window, install it to enjoy enhanced Internet Explorer security.
    [/ quote]

Thanks for this info, PA bear. As a general rule, I tend to ignore the "optional" updates I just pulled on custom and nine years ago:

Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile for Windows XP x 86 (KB982670)
Update certificates root [June 2011] (KB931125)
    Update for Windows XP (KB2492386)
Windows PowerShell 2.0 and WinRM 2.0 for Windows XP and Windows Embedded (KB968930)
    Update for Windows XP (KB971513)
Microsoft Base Smart Card Cryptographic Service Provider package: x 86 (KB909520)
Windows Search 4.0 for Windows XP (KB940157)
    Windows Media Player 11
    Microsoft .NET Framework version 1.1

It looks like one of them (KB931125) should I move permanently! Why is - it is considered to be "optional"? Thanks again for bringing it to my attention. You'll notice that I didn't intentionally avoids install Windows Search 4.0 (KB940157), I've seen slow down a good many systems.

Question: Are there other "optional" updates that should really be installed for security reasons? TIA.

[1] why is 'optional' [update of certificate root (KB931125)]?

are [2] there any other "optional" updates that should really be installed for security reasons? TIA.

A1. Can you tell me, so the we know! I had been wondering the same thing for updates of root certificates were first years offered there.

I always thought it had something to do with Win5.x (vs Win6.x) "architecture", because updates root certificates are installed silently in the background in Vista & Win7 (i.e. independent of Windows Update, but not necessarily independent of the "tunnel" Windows Update <=don't> ).

A2. NO! ... especially not the .NET Framework updates, if you know what's good for you, in my humble OPINION. (If you install an application that is based on a version of .NET that is not already installed, the application must install for you by default. Unfortunately, this isn't necessarily the case with some third party applications [e.g., Roxio, IIRC].)
