I have to pause before closing? (Fusion 7 Mac)

Hi all

I always manually suspend my VM before closing the window and Fusion to quit (Mac 7/Mavericks).  Is this necessary, or can I just close the window (which seems to automatically suspend)?

Thank you

Ivan

You close the window, and it will work as you desire. Automatically suspend the virtual machine is the default setting, but you have the choice:

* Go to the VMware Fusion menu and select Preferences...

* Click on the general icon.

* Choose "suspend the virtual machine' (default) or"switch the virtual machine' (which can cause the virtual machine to stop).

You can also decide if you want that VMware Fusion to show a before confirmation dialog box it closes a window of the VM.

Confirmation is useful if you have a tendency to close the windows with the command-W. Sometimes the VM itself was the focus of the mouse instead of a small window running in your virtual machine. Accidentally, you suspend the VM together instead of closing a window inside the virtual machine. Happens to me when I run several virtual machines using the full screen, flipping between screens with the trackpad, and then I type the command-W without clicking first inside the virtual machine. The virtual machine is suspended. The parameter "Confirm before closing" gives a first warning.

I let the disabled in any case, Confirmation setting to speed up when I really want to close these VMs.  :-)

    When filling out forms in the browser I sometimes accidentally hit Ctrl-w to muscle memory. The ctrl-w is a function of writing in another program I use. When I hit Ctrl-w window close without warning and I can potentially use an hour of work.

    Is it possible to configure firefox, then it will appear a confirmation box when I click the Ctrl-w warning me that the browser window closes.

    It's a safety device great for touch typist who sometimes moves too fast.

    Thank you.

    I thing the warning appears only when you have 2 or more tabs open in the same window if the checkbox is checked in the Options (warn me when closing multiple tabs).

    With a single tab, I fear that it is not possible to be warned: in Firefox, CTRL + W closed the tab current, different from CTRL + SHIFT + W (or ALT + F4) to close the active window.

    If this shortcut is really a problem for you, you may replace it with an add-on like customizable shortcuts.

  • After using groups of tabs earlier today, now whenever I close FF with more than 1 open tab, FF don't ask me to confirm before closing

    After using groups of tabs earlier today, now whenever I close FF with more than 1 open tab, FF don't ask me to confirm prior to closing. FF always asked me to confirm in the past and no settings have been changed before you try tab groups. Then when I open FF it again all the tabs I had open are still there. I tried refreshing FF and erase history, but that did not work. It's almost as if FF think windows and tabs I have open are a group of tabs, and he won't let me get rid of this group. How to stop groups of tabs now that I have them? Or is there something else? None of this was going on until this morning, I played with tab groups. I was curious what it was - it's going to make me kill one of these days lol.

    Note that using "show my windows and tabs from last time" as the start setting will also prevent Firefox to display an alert when you close the window.

  • Force the user to fill out an interface of the window before closing

    Hi all

    We already have an application written in Labwindows and we need to change to the new requirements. According to this condition, the user must provide more information before proceeding with the application. The idea is a popup window and force the user to include the information in this window. I have two questions here:

    -How can I prevent the user to close the second window before entering anything (something like the concept of modal window)? He should be able to access first window that after he clicks ok in the second window, out per second.

    -How to pass values between the two windows?

    Thank you

    Kanu

    Hi Kanu,

    These issues concern some fundamental concepts in CVI, you need to study or refresh.

    As you may know, the simpler you have a modal window in CVI is to use InstallPopup after loading the Panel: is the guarantee that the user cannot access other panels before closing the popup panel (Finally, there are other ways and a few caveats to my assertion, but let's first passing the simplest).

    When the user clicks OK, close or no matter what button place you on this Panel, you need to retrieve the value of the relevant controls with GetCtrlVal, validate them some way according to the nature of the control and your needs and only if it is valid, close the Panel with DiscardPanel (or RemovePopup if you need to reuse and don't want to reload).

    Passage of the second round table data is done via SetCtrlVal.

    As you can see, these are very general concepts, which may or may not apply to your application. In case you have doubts please add some details to your question.

  • Photoshop Elements opening at startup, despite having close before closing.

    I am running 13 elements on a MacBook Air O SX Yosemite version 10.10.

    After installation, I encountered the following problems.

    (1) items 13 organizer application open ok and transfer my photos from iPhoto.

    (2) items 13 open Application o.k

    (3) the editor elements 13 open o.k

    But lately, when you open the application 13 elements after 1 second, the display returns to another copy of 13 elements Organizer.

    I have tried to check the files installed, to check whether they are in the right place, can not see the apparent problems.

    Also on 13 startup items will automatically start despite having left the program before closing.

    Maybe if I reinstalled completely 13 elements problems could disappear.

    Your first answer would be much appreciated.

    Best wishes David a Hullin

    Sorry, but I'm still confused. There are only two real parties of PES: the editor and organizer. I guess the other icon is to welcome screen, who don't want any, normally. I trash the three of us, then go to Applications > Adobe elements 13 Organizerand make an icon for it, then to the Applications > Adobe Photoshop elements 13 > Support Files > Photoshop elements editor and make one for that (or when a component is running).

  • Plugin WindowsForms without closing before closing the Acrobat window

    I have a plugin that I build that opens a Windows form, allows the user control some things and do some calculations and then to send a block of text to the PDF document.

    The problem is that if the user does not close the Windows Form before closing the main acrobat window, the program will crash because of a violation of read access to a location memory.  The problem does not occur if the windows form is closed in the first place and then the main acrobat window is closed.

    i.e.

    1. the user opens a document

    2. the user starts the shape of the window using the plugin

    3 user performs some work using the document and the windows

    4. the user is done so they close the acrobat window

    5. the user sees that the windows form is still open and close.

    6. the error occurs

    I create the windows form using Application::Run (gcnew Form1());

    In the windows form, I added this function:

    public: static void ExitCalc(){
    Application::Exit();
    }

    This function is called in the .cpp file that generates the drop as part of the PluginUnload, but the problem remains.

    I need to close the windows form object before the closure of the acrobat window.

    Thanks for the help.

    There is a notification that you can apply when a document is closing (and many others too!).   Check the documentation for more information about the notifications.

    I tried several reboots, nothing works.

    Thanks in advance for any help!

    Since his happens with all files, my suspicion is that your application data are damaged. Try this:

    1. close FrameMaker.
    2. Delete the following directory: C:\Users\[user]\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\FrameMaker\
    3. reopening of framemaker and see if the problem is reproducible.
  • How to remove the warning "do you want to save the changes to investigation.pdf before closing.

    Question: To remove the warning "do you want to save the changes to investigation.pdf before closing.

    I created a file of pdf XFA (using the LC Designer 8.2) to view this issue

    I can't attach PDF file. Without attaching the pdf file, it would be difficult to explain.

    Click event js:

    function activateUser() {}
    var PDFVersion = xfa.host.variation + xfa.host.version;
    xfa.host.messageBox ("registered button click event");
    XFA. Form.Form1.sendForm.welcomeMsg.Presence = "invisible";
    XFA. Form.Form1.sendForm.successMsg.Presence = "visible";
    Event.Target.Dirty = false;
    };

    docReady event js:

    function displayInfo() {}
    var res =xfa.host.variation;//Added this line to display the successMsg
    xfa.host.messageBox ("docReady event recorded");
    XFA. Form.Form1.sendForm.welcomeMsg.Presence = "visible";
    XFA. Form.Form1.sendForm.successMsg.Presence = "invisible";
    };

    docClose js event:

    xfa.host.messageBox ("docClose recorded event");
    Event.Target.Dirty = false;

    Steps to get the caveat:
    (1) open the attached pdf using Acrobat Professional.
    (Bouton 2) click on registration to confirm.
    (3) now close the document and the Acrobat gives a warning "do you want to save the changes to investigation.pdf before closing.

    The XFA pdf summary:
    It has two text fields. DocReady event field has done this & field B is rendered invisible.
    The button click event of the field made invisisble & field B are made visible.
    Closing the pdf should not raise this warning message.

    My Efforts:
    (1) found a property in js adobe docs.
    Event.Target.Dirty = false;
    It does not solve the problem.
    (2) I tried to put this logic in almost all the events listed in the designer, but I'm not able to solve the problem.

    Please help me solve this problem.

    Hello

    Change the visual appearance is dirty the screen, before all data are actually entered in the form. I've seen this before.

    I think that the docClose event is too late to have the sale/requiresFullSave script. preSave does not either, as this is triggered after the warning dialog is displayed.

    For a test, I would put the sale/requiresFullSave script in the layout event: loan. Not the most efficient, but he should do after changing the visibility of the messages.

  • Will be "immediately stopped" RAS redologs to archivelogs before closing the db?

    Hi guys,.

    I have a question that I want to erase and I hope Oracle gurus here can help me out with what I don't have freedom "immediately" to test the scenerio.

    When I run the command to stop, do a journal command before closing the database? Or do we have to do it manually before shutdown? I want to make sure I'm not losing last operations when a restore of database on a different server.

    -MM

    Published by: UserMM on October 15, 2008 09:04

    No, a STOP (whether IMMEDIATE or NORMAL) does NOT cause a switch of log of the last file Log of Redo ("CURENT"). At the start of the instance, Oracle continues with the same log file in the CURRENT file.

    Allows you to encode a Shutdown trigger to force a log switch, or to write a wrapper program to run the SQL command ("ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE"). However, as you will need to run the ALTER SYSTEM before, all actions (restoration of transactions that an immediate stop) closing would still be in the CURRENT journal of again after the switch.

    What you could do is to:
    a. immediate stop
    b. startup restrict
    c. ALTER SYSTEM SWITCH LOGFILE
    d. Normal or immediate stop

    These could be "merged" within a script.

    Open your two-seater document in Pages ' 09. In the lower left corner of the status bar, click the indicator at the top of this menu, and percentage change two places for a spot. Save your document. You should resize your document down to its size of single page, before saving, as the Pages ' 09 will do that for you when you switch back from two places.
