    Hello

I'm new to the site... I got a L300D for three months and no problem but in the last two weeks, I had TEMPRO warns my readers have free space that disappears quickly.

In fact at this moment I have a total of * 800Mbs * when in fact I more than * 90Gbs * and I even used a shedder file to clean up more space.
Is there a way to get TEMPRO on track or is this a normal problem, unsolveable.

    Hey Buddy

TEMPRO is a tool that scans the entire HARD drive
I guess you have different partitions on the HARD drive and I guess Tempro tells you that the free space among available partitions_ _on breaks down

Well, I'm not quite sure what partition is a sense but perhaps hidden partition Vista first, s (WinRE).
You should know that Vista uses a hidden backup files partition, this partition can be used if something goes wrong with the operating system

I think Tempro means that partition

  • I have maybe 2 sets of hard drives on my pc

Recently, I noticed that when I click on 'Computer' and my discs hard pop up, the 'Hard drive' title is followed by a 2. That is to say;  Hard drives (2). If he says that, while there must be one (1). How can I access that (1) and see what it is and what is on it?

Recently, I've made a few changes on my computer and was administrator. I also changed the password on a user and also remove a user.
For me, I don't have one (1) and (2) hard drives, I should have one. If I don't have two, how will this affect my disk space on my pc? Thank you very much.

Press Windows key + R on your keyboard, and then type the command diskmgmt.msc and press ENTER. Now, you will see clearly how many drives you have. It is possible that you have a SSD (Solid State Disk) for your operating system, for better performance. See your documentation of purchase!

Both say the same thing - 120 GB of free space. 128 886, 263, 552 bytes is 120 GB and 128 GB not

All hard drive manufacturers qualify 1 GB 1,000,000,000 bytes, while the rest of the computer, including the windows world, defines it as the 2 to the 30th power bytes (1 073 741 824). So, for example, a disk of 320 billion bytes is actually around 300 GB.

Of some note as the official international standard
sets the 'G' of GB as 1 billion, not 1 073 741 824. OK, even though they were, using the binary value of GB is so well-established in the world of computing that I consider be misleading on the part of the manufacturer of marketing using the decimal value of 1 billion.

  • do I have to buy an external hard drive to transfer my library to another computer?

Do I have to buy an external hard drive to transfer my library to another computer? There is another technology that is cheaper?

Physically, you can move the HD on your current computer and install it in the new computer.

You have backups of your photos and files of catalog on another disc? If so, you can physically take the backup HD and install it in the new computer. If this isn't the case, then invest in an external hard drive for backups (and transfers) is highly recommended. You live very dangerous if you don't have backups. I wouldn't bother even to make the transfer until you are sure have backups on a different disk.

I guess you could use WiFi, Ethernet or a cloud like DropBox service.

You could borrow an external HD to a relative or friend.

  • How to divide two partitions on my HARD drive?

I have the original recovery DVD in my book and I don't know how to repartition my HARD drive.
I want to divide it into two scores (primary and extended?

    Hello

If you want to create a second partition on the HARD drive I would really recommended using a 3rd party utility magically 8 partitions
This tool is amazing. You can create and manage partitions on the HARD disk while Windows is running.

But you can also create a partition by using the recovery CD.
In this case, you will need to boot from the CD recovery and under the installer or expert mode.
Simply type the first partition size and the restore CD will create a 1 partition on the HARD disk.
After installing the OS, go to disk management, and then you bring up the second partition.

PS: Using the recovery CD will erase the whole HARD drive! That's why I prefer the use of the PM8

  • I want to reinstall Windows Vista, but have 2 partitions on the hard drive partition which should I use?

Which partition should I use to re - install Windows Vista? A partition is much smaller then the other.

    Hello

you don't say how you are trying to reinstall vista

If you use a microsoft vista dvd you would normally select a CUSTOM installation that gives you the opportunity to see what partitiions are available, what size are they and what is currently installed on them etc.

It is then to you to delete the existing partition where vista is already installed and reinstall on the same partition or where you want to

We cannot see how your hard disk is configured

We can only give you general information on this subject

read the tutorial below well especially the steps below:

Now it's time to choose the installation type. Update or custom are the choice, but as you can see, in this case, Custom is the only option. There are two points to note. The first is under Customs where it says you can use this option to change the disks and partitions. This is true to a point. You can create and delete partitions and resize a partition using the command 'Extend '. The second thing to note is that if you want to 'Upgrade '. you need start the installation from Windows inside.

Once determined the type of installation, it's time to decide where to install Vista. As you can see on the screenshot options in this scenario are limited. There is a 20 GB hard drive and it is all unallocated space. If your intention is to return the entire disk in Vista with none of the additional partitions for other uses, all you have to do is click on disk 0, and then click the [next] button. The installation will continue.

    etc.

    etc.

  • I have a WD Passport that has fallen and now when I connect there is a beep on and pc shows that some usb connected, but in my computer, it is not shown. I have important data in this HARD drive

What could be the possibility of repair for any mechanical failure (such as changin the case) rather than to go for a recovery

    Hello

As you say he fell - there is possibility that your media is damaged. You can try one thing - Incase you are lucky - open the suitcase and see the hard drive is connected / fixed tight to the connector and then attach the cable to the PC to see if you can access the drive. Otherwise, you will have to go for data recovery.

    I hope this helps.

  • C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\VirtualStore this issue is close to 100 GB. I have no space on my hard drive. Yet on my other pc, this folder is empty.

Hello.  I have 2 pc.s. both with vista home premium installed. they do not have the same programs installed. the path of the problem folder is the following. C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\VirtualStore. on my laptop, this folder is absolutely empty. on the desktop the virtualstore folder is big close to 100 GB. that totally filled my hard drive. is it possible to disable this folder safely, so I can free up space on my hard drive

    Hello, maveric8673

    Do you recognize the files?
If there are files that you saved in a specific program in the folder?

It is usually more old programs will try to save files / settings to a location requiring the administration of rights which translates the writing files in the folder Windows virtualstore. A marker is also created so that if the program accesses this file again, it will point to the file in the virtualstore folder. If you use an older or not designed for Vista program and its economy at this place, try to update the program.

According to the files, removing items from the folder may affect programs, but yes, you should remove them manually.

  • I just have to install a new hard drive and Vista on my Toshiba Satellite pro computer laptop I gave up and damage the hard drive.

I can't set up a broadband connection using the cable or wireless such that it does not recognize either. Also, the font is huge and I can't find anywhere to reduce only expand. I also have to install a Toshiba installation disc?

If the installation disc includes the drivers for your motherboard, display and Wi - Fi then yes do you.

You can also find drivers as follows. Go to the Toshiba support website and search for Windows Vista drivers for your specific model number.

    Toshiba support: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/support/jsp/home.jsp

If there are Windows Vista drivers can download to a folder on your hard drive and install all of them, starting with the card mother/chipset, SATA, USB drivers, Audio, LAN, Etc., and so on.

  • I have to make a new hard drive for my Toshiba laptop, how do I get my current operating system (Vista) on the new hard drive?

I already have Vista running. Last week I had to run the recovery disc that came with my laptop, now I am hearing cracking and screetching coming from the hard drive and it does not start. I intend to buy a new hard drive and replace it myself. How can I move the new Vista of the old hard drive?

My computer did come with an installation disc, only a recovery disk.

Probably you need to use the product key on your computer to activate Windows.

  • I have a question on the HARD drive in a P7-1209.

My drive HARD Hitachi of the P7 - 1209 old of 3 months is quite a grinding noise coming out of sleep mode. He did since I had the PC.  This noise is normal? I never heard him on any of my last PC with Western Digital drive HARD or my son of Dell.

    Vermin, welcome to the forum.

I don't think that a grinding from a hard drive is always good.  I suggest to go into the BIOS and running the S.M.A.R.T diagnostics for the drive.  That should tell you if there is a problem.  Here's a guide to help you.
