M/S update stop my WiFi adapter on my laptop

I'm under the M/S Vista on a Sony Vaio laptop. Today, M/S is an update of Silverlight without my agreement. The result is that I now can't use WiFi on this laptop since the way through boot, seeing WiFi turns off 0 and reports of windows that the switch has been turned off. This happened last year and has been overturned when M/S did another update that has eliminated the problem they created. Someone at - it no indication on what to do to recover the WiFi?

Hello

You can access the site from Sony and re - download the drivers for your model...

http://eSupport.Sony.com/

@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

You can also use this method to stop it happening again.

Microsoft gives sometimes you updates for the 3rd party hardware: graphics, network cards, etc.

You should only get the latest drivers for them to real hardware manufacturer's website, as Microsoft normally does nor those have the most recent drivers available as Microsoft relies of the 3rd party hardware Manufactuer to provide.

But unfortunately, the only way to know which is the update of the problem is to install them one at a time, until you find the one 'bad' for your installation (you think it's the Silverlight one).

You can do a system restore to get back until it has been installed (which is NOT the best way to remove an update) or follow this method:

'Remove an update'

http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/remove-an-update

When you have found the issue of update of the list of updates which is presented > then right click on the update problem > select Hide update > and it will not be available to you once again

"How to hide or show an update of Windows Vista"

http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/72491-Windows-Update.html

Here's how to chanage update settings, if you think it is necessary to:

"Understanding Windows Update and Extras in Windows Vista and Windows 7.

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/tutorials/Windows-Vista-updates-and-extras/

Or the other of these two update settings will give you the chance to see what you want to install through Windows updates;

Download updates but let me choose whether to install them - if you select this option, Windows will download the updates on your computer, but not install them automatically. If you want to install updates, then you must install them manually. You should only select this option if you have a reason to not install updates automatically. Only advanced users should use this option.

Check for updates but let me choose whether to download and install them - if you select this option, you'll be alerted when there are new updates available for download and install. You can then choose to download and install the updates that you want. This option should really be reserved for people who know exactly which updates they need, or those who have little access to the Internet.

But remember you normally only have problems with hardware 3rd party drivers. Other updates are to improve the Performance and security of your system

See you soon.

If you have connected the first time, you got your Toshiba, then you may have used a password? I hope you still have it... Otherwise, your internet service provider can give you the password.

There was an update for the Wifi adapter a few days ago... I guess, no errors with this update, but just a new adapter-software installed - this may be the simple reason why we have to connect again... I had to use my password to connect on Wifi again after the reboot. And without problems

In the task bar, you click the Wifi icon and find your routers name and click on connect

I have a HP Pavilion g6-1d73us running Windows 7 Home Premium with Intel Core i3 2.30 GHz, 4 GB RAM, 64-bit OS and want to upgrade my wireless WiFi 802.11ac 802.11n wifi adapter so I can also change my modem & router to the new, faster standard. The current wifi adapter I have is Realtek RTL8188CE 802.11 b/g/n wifi adapt. I studied the material on the internet and I think I want an Intel Wireless AC 7260 wifi adapter, but I don't know if it is compatible with my laptop. Could you please tell me what 802.11ac wireless card or adapter is compatible with my laptop or if I'm even able to upgrade that component. My computer works fine and has no problem. Thank you.

Sorry no. The computer HP laptop motherboard has a BIOS program that is configured to stop the boot process, if all the wireless but very specific cards is installed. In the case of your laptop, no adapter 802.11ac lies on the 'white list' to boot.

  • Qualcomm Atheros AR9485 Wifi adapter closes unexpectedly after Windows updates

We have a HP laptop, experiencing repeated problems with the AR9485 of Qualcomm Atheros 802.11b/g/n WIFI adpter following updated Windows.  Since we can not get online, we are unable to update the drivers.  Provides basic troubleshooting "Wifi adapter is experienceing driver or hardware related problems.  The device status shows "this device cannot start (Code 10) Operation Failed."  Any suggestions?

    Hello:

Download this driver... Do not run it immediately.

This package contains the driver installation package for LAN Qualcomm Atheros QCA9000 wireless controller series in models of laptop support and operating systems.

    File name: sp70859.exe

Go to Device Manager and right click on the map the problem wireless.  Select uninstall.  Check driver uninstall, reboot and now the driver I posted and see if it works.

  • S205 Lenovo with RaLink 3090 series wifi adapter problems - update driver 3.2.1 solve?

    Hello.

I just got the Lenovo S205 with RaLink 3090 series wifi card and had a steady decline until I downloaded the Version 3.2.1 update which was included in the link for the 309 X (X being 0 for me for my wifi card) software/drivers on RaLink site, under the Help menu.

Go to ralinktech.com and go to Support > downloads > Windows and you will see a list of several RaLink devices which include the adapter X 309. I chose to download/install the full utility with the driver. I remember well, it may be more 28 megabytes.

I hope it works for you!

    Update:

I uninstalled the RaLink wireless utility that came with the 3.2.1 pilot, but it uninstalled the driver too. Then I reinstalled and activated the option "install driver only", went into the control panel > hardware and audio > Device Manager > network adapters >

RALink RT3090 802.11n WiFi adapter > double-click to open the properties > power management tab > uncheck "allow this computer to turn off device to save energy ', 'OK', close and restart programs.

So when I start or wake the system from sleep, I click the Wireless connections icon in the lower right (next), bar and then click on the link that I want to connect, and then click 'Connect' While it takes 8 seconds to connect, it is worth MUCH more that to have the connection drop constantly, and I probably reboot my system only once when he didn't to reconnect out of a State of sleep.

I had a MUCH more homogeneous behaviour since this change, and I hope it works well for you too!

  • BDX4350KB Wifi adapter and firmware upgrade doesn't work do not

It is a sequel to my earlier question about if the WLM-20U2 Wifi adapter will work in my blu - ray player.

After buying the adapter I plugged it and a message 'not supported', if I tried to connect wireless it says there was no an adapter connected.

So I assumed that this necessary upgrade, so I formatted a 1 Gb USB drive with the FAT file system, downloaded the file level (version 39 http://www.dl.toshiba.com/player/NA/GB/EN/BDX4350KB.html) and copied the file .bin on the USB.

When I plugged into the player and said to check the disk for a file to update it tells me that "frontend file is not found"... There was only one file to download, and it wasn't in a folder so I guess I'm supposed to just copy that file on the USB drive.

I checked the USB port with a memory stick with photos on and it works fine.

How to get the upgrade to work in the hope that it will enable the wifi adapter to work?

    Thank you

  • Wifi adapter A6100 lag spikes / logout

    Hello

I bought a computer on an online store last month and I need to buy a USB wireless adapter, so I bought this USB of A6100 WiFi adapter. Since I was able to connect to the internet, I noticed a lot of split shift (of 75ms to 500 + for a few seconds) that I had not on my laptop, even if the signal quality is Excellent. Also when I turn on my computer, there is a great chance that I can connect to my router, but not to the internet. In this case, I simply right click / solve problems and the same error appears 9 times out of 10 every time: there's a protocol missing on the computer.

I tried to update my drivers but nothing works. If I want a replacement for this card, I obviously need to go back to the store I bought it will take probably a few weeks but I can't wait and I have no other possibility to connect to my router (any other USB adapters / no ethernet not cable because I am a little too far from the router).

    Furthermore, I use Windows 10.

Is there a quick fix for me or I must send my rear adapter for a replacement?

    Thank you!

I decided to buy a cable and everything works fine now. The adapter was defective from the beginning... I'll return to the store where I bought it and try to get a refund or a replacement...

    Thanks for your help!

  • Intel Centrino 1000 bgn wifi adapter 'broken '? (on Z570)

On my new laptop (Lenovo IdeaPad Z-570), I have installed and working
fine (for about 2 months now), as the dual boot between Linux and Win - 7.

The wifi hardware is the Intel Centrino 1000-N, that plugs into the PCI-E card
location of bus. (I had the large bottom plate and examined the)
card, who has two sons, 1 white, 1 black and stands in his
slot with a single phillips screw. [Seems that they can put "lock-tight"
cement on the threads of the screw, the screw did not move.]

Here's my current dilemma: 2 days, while that started under Linux.
rather than tension, as usual, I closed the lid and went to bed.
In the morning, at the opening of the lid, I realized... hmm... maybe it was
    hibernation (if I remember correctly).

So, I turned it off and then cold started upward. The wifi was not see
no signal at all. (Clearly the router/WLAN worked like my wife
laptop connected fine.) I grew up in a cmd, su command prompt ' ed, and
"iwlist scan" and has confirmed that there is a problem. Said that he could not
analysis via the interface 'wlan0', because the network was down.
I went in the ceni and walked through a re - configure and got:
'... cannot be set without wire-flags... impossible operation, due to the RF-kill'

Intrigued, I restarted, more to Win - 7, and she also couldn't see any wifi signal.

I checked the slide switch on the front dash Panel... it looked very well.
has been passed to the right. Slippery left causes an avant-panneau-LED
to go off, slide the switch to the right, causing an avant-panneau LED to
on. (I think I know that this switch controls bluetooth and wifi
devices. I have not played with the Bluetooth at all yet).

2 days ago, my conclusion was that the material 'broken' on the wifi adapter.

But now, my "instinct" is the thought that maybe miss me another possibility.
(for example a BIOS setting governs the wifi?) Could a misconfigured 'putting into hibernation'
the installer put the wifi adapter in statehood "firmware-level/BIOS-level-disabled"?
[for example such that neither OS can easily get the wifi adapter to see signals?]

    TIA...

checked the fn + f5 to turn on the wireless?
also check the updates to the bios download page if there is place.

  • What is an alternative to the UWABR100 Wifi adapter?

It seems that Sony has stopped the Wi - Fi adapter for the model 2011 Bravias incredulous. However, the link for the UWABR100 WiFi card to http://www.store.sony.com/products/27-UWABR100 says that it is no longer supported.

Does anyone know if there is an alternative to the UWABR100 WiFi adapter?

Now that the UWA-BR100 is no longer produced, and the few remaining are sold at ridiculous increases ($ 175 and up), it seems that the single dongle wifi that works with Sony Bravia and Blu - ray Disc players and gets strong support in the comments of the buyer is the UWA-DR100 Wifi adapter. It is manufactured and sold on Amazon by two companies. You can also see the reviews on Amazon.

Sony really disappoint recent Bravia owners on this issue. It's one thing to be an essential accessory owner for a major product feature of the production after 5-7 years, but inside of 3 years is supported of the gross product.

Laptops are as you order them or buy them as ready to ship models. They are not generally considered to be extensible to all. You can switch from desktop computers in general as much as the platform of the motherboard and BIOS allow.

Not as far as I know, HP makes no recommendataions on laptops and usb adapters.

Just do a search online with Googl, Bing or your search engine favoriteb for major brands such as ASUS, Linksys and Netgear. Check the reviews of the candidates you find and make sure they include drivers for the operating system that you have in your laptop. NewEgg.com is a good website to csome comparison shopping.
