  I strongly disagree with Andre.  WLM 2012 is not nearly as good as the 2011 version. The 2012 version has been ruined by a series of defective Windows updates, AND there is no groups.

  The problem you are having is probably due to other causes:

  You have a hosted Microsoft email address?  If you do, any version of WLM works.  Most of my clients who have had these addresses is passed to others.

  Have you tried the repair feature in WLM?

  You have messages stuck in Outbox?

  My OS is windows vista 32-bit sp2.  I have windows live mail 2011. This has recently been updated to 2009 when I installed a windows update that includes updates of windows live essentials.  I don't know if this problem appeared at this time or not as I just noticed. Problem is that when I check my email list and I want to sort on the column, it will not be. There he performs a sort on the column of the object.   If you use ONLY to send and not calendar & contacts windows live mail (any version), you can configure to operate using IMAP/POP.  If you do not need to synchronize the calendar & contacts...
  It is an excellent replacement for Windows live mail which is free to try (up to 2 accounts) that BECAUSE of the work with the new outlook e-mail format called emclient.  There is also a paid version. You can either get here

  It works with Exchange, POP, IMAP and looks like Windows live mail.  Frankly, it's the first replacement I've seen that actually works.  I spent.
  They have their own support forums, a decent product and seem to be the only replacement for WLM that has the appearance of it.
  You can import all your windows live mail in emclient easily by doing a file > import > windows live mail.  This will import your current data of WLM in emclient
  On the side of caution I make a copy of the entire record of the WLM and save it somewhere safe.

  PS, I got Windows Live Mail 2011 for several years and have no Windows Essentials on my PC, just the direct email.  He was always so right from the start.

  I have Windows Live Mail 2011, v.15.4.3555.0308, running on Windows 7 Ultimate.  Y at - it a upgrade for this e-mail program, and if so, where can I download it from?
  I noticed that some people have lost information when upgrading versions of Windows Live Mail.  Is there a way to avoid this problem, for example by registering all messages and contacts one already exist? If so, how is that possible?

  The latest version is available on the Windows Essentials page.

  If you normally log in Windows Live Mail, you should have no problem with the upgrade to 16.4.3505.0912. If you do not, export contacts to CSV format before the upgrade to be on the safe side. Your messages must still be there after the upgrade - but it is always advisable to have a backup created by exporting.

  Just to understand it

  I had to change smapi.dll

  Current version on the computer: 15.4.3538.513

  I searched the Internet and found an another smapi.dll versioned 14.0.8117.416

  Replaced original smapi.dll in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Windows Live\Mail\ and everything started working. not sure if this is a bug in the most recent version of the dll, but it works with the older ones.

• Lost mail in Windows Live mail 2011

  I have several problems with Windows Live mail 2011.

  I have archived emails in a folder - under "storage folders".

  In the preview, there are 3 emails - all looking for good - but when I see the content-

  as the former email of 2007 - which has nothing to do with these 3 are on display. It is actually the same with all 3 emails

  and I have files from folder with the same problem. So now I can't see the content. BIG problem.

  After check-in - I tested the email - and there is no problem - but all night - the problem came...

  So, I get "this is a problem when you attempt to open this message -" so I should just click on another folder

  and most of the time - when coming back to my original email - he then can open. Not very secure.

  When you use the arrow - to open the subfolder - often display the records-pop up - what causes that

  I then have to scroll again - looking for these same subfolders. Not very easy to use, as I would request for a stay in the place.

  Thank you for this very important information.  Very few of my clients use Microsoft Outlook online, or one of its related e-mail systems.  So, I was not aware of this.

  I hope won't be one problem for others who do not use Microsoft mail itself, like you.

  In your case, I recommend that you upgrade to WLM 2012.   http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-CA/Windows/essentials

  As I said before, WLM 2011 and 2012 are not visibly different, but if you use groups, you lose that.

  I suggest that you start by download Windows Live Essentials 2012.  Turn it back on.  Uninstall Windows Live Essentials 2011.  Turn it back on.  Install Windows Live Essentials 2012.

  If your WLM 2011 does not work properly, you won't suffer any loss of data.

  Windows Live Essentials is a complete set.  You should probably only WLM (which is part of it).  You can choose which items are installed.

  Microsoft announces support of falling all the time.  It rarely causes a lack of ability to work for most people.  Microsoft did this to reduce its staff.

  If you can see that the attachment is there in your folder sent items , then he was sent. The message was accepted for transmission by your e-mail service or server of your ISP. How can I keep all of my old emails. I have hundreds of emails in the sent folder and hundreds in my folder of emails saved on my old computer (windows live mail 2011) but when I open windows live mail 2012 on my new computer all the folders are empty. I signed the same account on both computers.

  It is relatively simple as you use and that you want to use WLM.

  You will need to copy a folder from where it is (the old installation) to another place where you know it will be (for example on your desktop)

  The folder is c:\users\your user name\app data (if it is not there, see the note below) \local\microsoft\

  At that point you will see a folder named oddly enough "windows live mail" copy on your desktop

  If you don't see the app data because it is invisible atm.  To make it visible, you need to go to your control panel > folder options > view > change to hidden folders (see figure)

  

  Once you have mail backed up on your desktop (or where ever) drag the folder from the desktop to the location for the new WLM (once again we C;-... just like above).  Just make sure that WLM does not run in time.  What wont be imported, it of passwords and rules.

  Accounts and data should now be in the new WLM when you open it.
