I just bought Office 2010 and it will not install on my Dell Dimension E520

Yes, I still have a Dell Dimension. The problem is Microsoft office 2010 home and student not install on my computer because it says I need service pack 1. Which I've improved on my computer.

I recently had to reinstall the operating system (Vista Edition home premium)

and I go through updates and I checked to see if it installed service pack 1, and he did it successfully. so, what's the problem?

See that this thread said to check your version of Service Pack and also try to install SP2 for Vista if you have not installed it.

What happens if you try to install Office to locate the installer exe and a right click that and select 'run as administrator '.  Do this even if you are an administrator.

See if allows you to temporarily disable any Anti Virus program running.
