Version 30: I hit the star of bookmarks and the search function disappeared. In addition, b/brands list covers a portion of the tab... can we recover the research?

FFox itself updated to version 30 - as happens unfortunately. So far, hit the bookmarks star opens a window on the left with a search engine on the top, and the following list of the bmarks. The search engine has now disappeared, and bmarks list covers the actual page, I am browsing...
Can I pick up the search function? Maybe even put an end to bmarks list maskign who I am through?

If not, what other browser good reputation can you recommend thus rid myself of this and all future destroyers "improvements"?
Thank you

You can install the extension Classic theme restaurant if you want a dedicated toolbar button to open the bookmarks bar.

You can check the settings of the extension of the CTR through the Options/preferences button on the page "Firefox/tools > Modules > Extensions.

Versions of Firefox 3.6 + have a feature to allow the user to hide the Menu bar.

Press the Alt key to temporarily show the Menu bar, then open view > toolbars and select menu bar, so it has a check mark.

The F10 can also be used on most PCs to temporarily reveal the menu bar.

  • Creation of bookmarks and social sharing

    Hi all

I am trying to know what version of DPS, you must turn on bookmarks and social sharing? We currently have a single edition and I think I've read somewhere that you can only activate these features in a multi-folio, but want to double check that I can't find the source, I read that as. Thank you.

That is right. Publishers Professional and Enterprise can enable Favorites and social sharing in applications multi-folio.

bookmarks.html contains no bookmarks, this file is no longer used to store.

Are you sure you're looking in the right folder, you are possible to search in the installation of Firefox rather than the profile folder folder. The following link provides details on the location of the profile folder - http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox

If you do not find places.sqlite you may not have access to your old profile folder.

  • Version 6.0 of Windows Mail in Windows Vista does not all emails that hit the server.

    Hello

I use Windows mail, version 6.0.6000.16386. for Microsoft Vista.

It seems tht that not every email will make it through Windows mail. I checked with my internet provider and we can see the e-mails hit the server, but it was as if Windows mail has been picking up a choice than to receive mails.

When we access the server directly, it seems to work. Anyone can help?

    Thank you.

Simply select the account under Tools | Accounts | Mail, then click on remove.  You will need to know the parameters to set it up again.  McAfee is known to cause problems with Windows Mail.  You will not be able to correct them if you continue to use McAfee.  Alternatively, you can try to compact and repair the database of WinMail to see if that helps (see www.oehelp.com/WMUtil/).

I can record is more than all of the new bookmarks after update to Firefox 40.0.2.
I have over 1000 bookmarks and also use xMarks.
I tried to remove 5 bookmarks and save a new bookmark, but it does not work.
When I click on the bookmark star, stars in the bookmarks folder jumps, but does not record, it does not offer the possibility of filing in the subfolder right it me and the star is not awarded (there should be one filled with stars when the Web site is updated bookmark)

Thank you for your help. I tried the maintenance of places without success. I have disabled xMarks, but it made no difference, I couldn't save all new bookmarks. I went on the site help above and deleted the "places.sqlite" file and recreates a new file, but it didn't work. I uninstalled Firefox full using IOBit Uninstaller and reinstalled, but I found this program does not delete the profile folder (used to have a checked during uninstall of Firefox, but it seems to have disappeared in the latest versions). The problem persisted.

Finally, I took a screenshot of all my addons. Then, I uninstalled Firefox again, then delete the entire folder profiles (located very usefully described in the second link above https://support.mozilla.org/kb/Bookmarks+not+saved#w_fix-the-bookmarks-file )
I reinstalled Firefox, reinstalled xMarks and connected and transferred all my favorites, I reinstalled all my previous addons and ALTO - it now everything works perfectly!

    Thank you for your help

Sorry, this is a message from the heart function. She undergoes a bug right now. Better to turn it off if you can get immediate relief.

To turn off the heart rate:
Talk openly about: config config in a tab, then search for browser.selfsupport.url and double click on it and set it to an empty value.

You may need to restart Firefox for the changes to take effect.

  • Customize the bookmarks and the history button (using the sidebar)

    Hello

I was wondering if there was a way to configure the bookmarks and history to open like a button sidebar instead of a menu drop-down. I've recently updated firefox to the latest version. In the old version I was using (I'm sorry, I don't remember version) bookmarks and the history button would open a side menu to the left of the window, that's what I'm trying to do.

I know a shortcut and a drop down for this. I am also aware to be able to open the sidebar via the Bookmarks button, but it takes 2 clicks. I wonder if there is a way to simply open the sidebar with just 1 click of the button. Basically, the button is like Alt + B, I want to change it to be simply Ctrl + B in 1 click.

    Thank you.

Nevermind, I found exactly what I was looking for with this addon.

Firefox has indicated that he did not have an upgrade. After upgrade, size smaller font, missing bookmarks and history missing. After doing a restore point, are back to normal but the bookmarks and history still missing. DO NOT MAKE the BAD upgrade. New version 3.6

Hi, for only the bookmarks, you can try this: first open the bookmarks > show all bookmarks > import and backup > restore and see if you have a backup there.

Otherwise and to restore both the history, please see.

If your question is resolved by this or another answer, please take a minute to let us know. Thank you.

  • Refresh wiped out all the bookmark and browser settings

Firefox suggested I do a Refresh to speed up the browser etc. I did it and everything has been wiped out. Firefox logo appears in the start bar but when I click on it see no firefox browser, totally empty tabs. All the bookmarks wiped out all three browsers I use: Firefox, Google Chrome and Internet Explorer. I'm totally in trouble.

When you reset Firefox and a new profile is created and some personal data (bookmarks, history, cookies, passwords, data form) are automatically imported and the current profile folder will be moved on the desktop to a folder "Old data Firefox".
Installed extensions and other customizations (toolbars, Pref.) that you have made are lost and must be redone.

It is possible to retrieve the data from the old profile, but be careful not to copy the files corrupted to avoid transporting more problems.

Do a clean reinstall and delete the program folder before Firefox to (re) install a new copy of the current version of Firefox.

If possible to uninstall your current version of Firefox to clean the Windows registry and settings in the security software.

    • Do NOT remove the "personal data" when you uninstall your current version of Firefox, because this will remove all profile folders and you lose personal data such as bookmarks and passwords including data profiles created by other versions of Firefox.

Delete the program folder Firefox before installing newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.

    • (32-bit Windows) "C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox\"
    • (Windows 64 bit) "C:\Program Files (x 86) \Mozilla.

Your bookmarks and other personal data are stored in the Firefox profile folder and will not be affected by a uninstall and (re) install, but do NOT delete personal data when you uninstall Firefox which removes all Firefox profile folders and you lose your data.

If you keep problems also create a new profile.

It is possible that your security (firewall, antivirus) software blocks or limit Firefox or the process of plugin-container without you inform, possibly after the detection of changes (update) for the Firefox program.

Delete all rules for Firefox and the plugin-container in the permissions list in the firewall and allow your firewall to ask permission to get access full and unrestricted, again to install for Firefox and the plugin-container and the update process.

  • Why has she changed my home page of bookmarks with the last update, I used to have 12 bookmarks and now its only list 9. WHY?

Seriously. Its boring the crap out of me, in fact its kind to really drive me crazy, I didn't update my firefox, he just did automatically and now my book mark page (like when I'm going to open a new tab) holds that 9 bookmarks (or at least that's all projection), when she used to hold 12. What was the point of their spacing and making them rounded boxes rather than squares? take-out space? like what. I want just the old version back. Ugh. I don't remember which bookmarks are missing which is also great, because I know they were important.

You can zoom the subject: newtab page to resize tiles have more page.

    • View > Zoom > Zoom out; CTRL and +.

This will affect all elements of the page, text so get more smaller institutions.

  • hit the tab opens another line of address rather than go to the subject field

With the last update to Thunderbird, I can not tab directly from the field address within the scope of the topic. Hit the tab opens another line of address to be removed, then tab will move to the scope of the topic. I hope someone solves this problem quickly.

    In my version 31.2.0
It depends on how MANY fields are automatically inserted.

So if I have 3 set as default, but have used an email address, tab scrolls the (two) other TO and in THE fields and then go to topic.

The rest to THE fields may not necessarily appear if the content by separating the divider was raised to provide more space to strike. So it might appear as though the creation of a new FIELD (which is normally when you press the enter/return key), but it's actually only to already available in THE fields.

    To check this:
Open a new message of Scripture.
Lower the separator bar to reveal header space, all the fields to display and also a few extra empty lines.
    How many auto fields appear?

Place the cursor at the top of the page to and use Tab to move.
the move of the tab should move from FIELD to the fall of choice FOR down, then next field. When the last FIELD was used, tab should go to the question, it should not go to an empty field AND create a new FIELD.
