I use windows xp pro sp3 in hp slimline, 32-bit system, 128-bit registration. But it won't handle windows live. or windows aero or similar no mateer how I try to install it.caused the same result in my IBM don't think Center and netvista with the same operating system installed. I was able to fix those, I downloaded Ubuntu 10.10 linux desktop and deleted windows all together. This hp is my last windows machine, and I was hopeing to keep for reasons of practivle. But now you do away with msn maps and directions, and I am facing the same issue again. I can simply not use widows direct sense or any direct software, nor what I want if it wasn't usable on my system. all my programs work well in this hp. all previous windows software and programs work well in this pc. Problem installing iTunes or QuickTime for Windows
    http://support.Apple.com/kb/HT1926

Turn on Windows 7 'Compatibility Mode' to iTunes:
    http://www.PCWorld.com/article/188534/turn_off_windows_7_compatibility_mode_for_itunes.html

Windows reports that iTunesSetup.exe is not a valid Win32 program
    http://support.Apple.com/kb/TS1406

First of all check if you have a version of 32 or 64-bit Windows:
    1) click the Start button, right-click computer and then click Properties.
    (2) in the system, see the system type - it will say either 32 or 64 bits.
    (3) download the appropriate version using the links.

    ITunes download (32-bit):
    http://www.Apple.com/iTunes/download/

    Download 64 - bit:
    http://support.Apple.com/kb/DL1037

Make sure that the "Windows Installer" service is running, or force start to begin.

    (1) open run, and type services.msc, and then press ENTER. You can also go
    Control Panel/Admin Tools/Services.

    (2) locate the Windows Installer in the list of installed services.

    (3) check that the status is "started".
If the condition column is empty, right-click Windows Installer, and then select start.

    (4) If you get the error trying to force start the Windows Installer service,
and then change the Startup Type to automatic (the default value is 'Manual').
    and then restart the computer.

    (5) very Installation Service runs after you restart the system.

  • Download the digital video from a camcorder using Windows Live Movie Maker

Tried to upload digital videos from a camcorder using Windows Live Movie Maker. To plug my camcorder, a dialog box "import video" appears. However when I name the video, and then click then I get an error message "there is no tape in your digital video device. To continue, insert a tape with recorded video you want to import. I tried eject Strip and re-integration, restart the camcorder and PC without success.

OK, I found my problem. I was getting the same error "There is no cassette" who you were. Here's what fixed it:

    1. Right click on my computer
    2. Properties
    3. Device Manager on the left
    4. Find the firewire card in the list (mine was the only thing listed under IEEE 1394 Bus host controllers)
    5. Make a right click, properties
    6. Driver tab
    7. Update driver
    8. Browse my computer for driver software
    9. Let me pick from a list of device on my computer drivers
    10. Choose one that has '(legacy)' at the end
    11. Click Next until it is done.

After that the error has disappeared and I was able to capture video with success.

    Hope this helps,

    -Brett.

  • Can't sign in to games for windows marketplace using windows live id error: 80048439

    The problem:

I bought a game a few days ago, but cannot sign in to games for windows marketplace. I try to connect using the GOOD live ID and the password that I used when buying this game on the website (it works when signing on my live account on internet and on this forum). A few seconds later, he says:

"Unable to connect. ID Windows Live ID or the password entered is not valid. Enter your information and you reconnect. "error: 80048439 cannot authenticate.

I tried several fixes that are found on the pages of support for games for windows live.

    I have reset my password

I deleted all my cookies, cache files and internet (several times)

When I try to connect to live in the game (using a steam game) I can't connect either.

I looked in the port forwarding, but there is no explanation on how to do it on my router (actiontec q1000). I don't know if the port is the problem or what. It is not a new modem, and it worked a few months ago.

I used gfw live years and had no problems until now and I swear that I use the password and login name.

Any info I can get to solve this problem is appreciated.

    ========================================
You have posted in a forum of WIn XP, so I assume you are using XP?

Using Win XP Movie Maker 2.1... You can save as .avi as follows:

To save a DV - AVI movie file...
    (and other options)
Type of... CTRL + P (or go to...) File / save movie file)
to open the wizard movie recording.
    Choose... My computer.
    Next /.
Enter a name and a location.
    Next /.
    Show more choices.
    Other parameters.
Open the window of the droplet and choose... DV - AVI.
    Next /.
Wait while the movie is saved.
    Finishing...

Or you can try to convert your. WMV file to the. MOV or. AVI
    format using a converter.

There are many converters available on the net... some
    free... some detail.

The following freeware converter is just one example:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory (freeware)
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory
(the 'direct link' is faster download)
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup296.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the final screens)
    (Windows XP / Vista / 7)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
    Drag > FFSetup296.exe< out="" of="" the="">
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select ' all-your choice of formats "/ OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck...

  • write links don't work in firefox using windows live mail

I use windows live for my email client. None of the mailto: links work with windows live in firefox. I checked and double checked all the settings and confirmed windows live is my default e-mail client. They work in IE 9 and Chrome, but not firefox.

You can remove and Add again and see if that helps. The choice of "Application Détails" at the bottom of the drop-down list will allow you to delete the one you currently have.

Start with this Port number.   Port 80 is usually reserved for HTTP.    Try the 25.

Unless your host secureserver.net says something, otherwise...

Oh.  They do it?  But no information for WLMail, so you have to adapt...

In particular, I think, note this:

NOTE: "smtpout.secureserver.net" is a relay SMTP server. To use this server to send e-mail messages, you must enable SMTP relay on your e-mail account. Connect to your management page email accounts to set up SMTP relay. If you have not set up SMTP relay and allows it to your Internet Service Provider (ISP), you can use the server of mail from your Internet Service provider. Contact your Internet service provider for this setting.

BTW if you use WLMail.exe you can also try to get help from the WLSC through its Mail Portal
