You can repair it yourself. I have a screenshot guide. You use app the Mac Terminal and a python (.py) script that comes with the recovery of the license for the Mac package.

Don't forget to leave a space after typing sudo python and note that your password will not display any points. Simply enter it blind.

  • DV6 - 6167cl: need to win 7 recovery disc for a new hard drive

I do not know what operating system Windows 7, my laptop had, but I need to put Windows 7 on my laptop HP dv6 - 6167cl recovery disks.

My original question was that my laptop could not restore or anything on its own.  After calling HP support and carry out a guided diagnostic test, it was determined that my hard drive was bad.  I bought a new hard drive and replaced it, but need to get Windows 7 return on that.

    Thank you!

    Hello

Unfortunately, there is no option to download the recovery media - discs, or a usb flash drive must be ordered from HP by following the link in my previous post.

For the version, the possibility of order recovery media is only listed under Windows 7 64 bit and that's what I would have expected your laptop to ship with - it is your machine comes with 6 GB of Ram and would require a 64-bit OS to be able to access what anyone more than 4 GB

Another option that you might consider is to create your own Windows 7 installation disc.

Before you try the following, make sure that you can always read the entire key 25 character product activation on your label Windows COA (5 blocks of 5 alphanumeric games).

An example of a COA label can be seen here.

You can create a Windows 7 installation disc yourself using another PC - just download the Disk Image correct ( this must be the same version that originally came with your laptop - it is listed as Windows 7 Home Premium 64 - bit ) from the link below and use an app like ImgBurn ( Note: you can deselect additional software during installation of ImgBurn offerings) to burn the ISO correctly on a blank DVD - a guide on the use of ImgBurn to write that an ISO on a disc is here.  The source of the Windows Image is Digital River.

    Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit SP1.

Use the disk to perform the installation, enter the activation key of Windows on the label of the COA at the request and once the installation is complete, use ' 'phone Method' described in detail in the link below to activate the operating system -this made method supported by Microsoft and is popular with people who want to just have a new installation of Windows 7 without additional software load normally comes with OEM installations.

  • Windows XP home on a new hard drive installation

I have an Omnibook xe2 with a new hard drive. The old hard drive has windows 2000 pro on this subject. The hard drive failed completely. I bought a new hard drive for her specifically for the Omnibook xe2. I don't have the disc pro 2000 windows or a boot drive for it. I have a XP home disc. How can I install the XP home without that old operating system disk pro 2000? Microsoft says that I need the old pro 2000 disk to load the new XP home system. Thank you for your help.

If your XP disc is an 'Upgrade', you will need an earlier version of windows will first be installed on the computer ie: Windows 2000. If the XP disk is a "full" Version you will need to set the BIOS to boot from the CD drive, and then boot from the drive and install Windows XP. To set the boot order, press on and press f2 at startup. Follow the prompts to set the boot order for the CD/DVD drive. Save the settings and exit. Place the disc in the CD drive and start the computer, follow the prompts to install Win. XP

Since 1 week ago, my computer started having BSOD, then I restored t using windows recovery, but after I restored, the other morning, he goes back to bsod. He said sometimes even not found boot device hard drive3F0. I ran short dst test and my hard drive does not, so I guess it takes a new hard drive.

I restored it like 7 times and it always have BSOD, not I can even go in the recovery at Startup Manager, it says X:\ RITA - TOOL\FindRDrv.vbs the system cannot find the specified file.

So I need to buy a new hard drive. I have already downloaded a new ISO and I check I still have my sequential codes from microsoft on my laptop. But I saw a post where they say that Microsoft does not reinstalling windows if the material is changed, even if it's the same computer.

I don't know if it's true, so I hope that someone can help you answer?

  • install win 7 home on the new hard drive on old Inspiron N5010

My daughter N5010 has a faulty hard drive I want to replace and load win 7 Home premium (it was what was on it when she bought new in 2010)
I downloaded an .iso of digital river and will burn on dvd for installation.  However, the COA on the bottom is quite warn and I cannot read the product key, also, the barcode is also quite warn and cannot parse.  hard drive, that I took out is dead, so there is not using the key of it.  I have read several posts here and watched videos that will happen on google searches, but don't know if I'm getting good information.  How I get the correct key to activate the operating system?  did this on a new original hard drive different from the resettlement on the hard disc descriptions?  I called dell support and told him a hard guy to understand that the downloaded .by don't work with this laptop, but I suspect he wanted to sell me a software warranty and new discs.  Maybe it's correct?  What is my best option here?
    Thank you for your attention...

    ...<>

However the slp cert is identical for each single Dell system running with Windows 7 Home Premium factory settings or installed with a Windows 7 Home Premium DVD Dell reinstallation, you cannot back up your own files.

If you get a Dell reinstallation DVD, you will use the same activation mechanism. I have backup upward cert for each version of Dell for Vista and 7 as well all that you need to do is copy program to extract the ABR folder and run restore activation.

I have a computer fujitsu laptop with vista installed and no recovery disk is available.
The hard drive is dead and must be replaced, is there a way to find new

    Hello

borrow a vista microsoft dvd; not a HP, Acer recovery disk etc

Make sure that you borrow the correct 32-bit or 64-bit microsoft dvd to your computer

they contain all versions of vista

My HD C: broke down and needs to be replaced.  It contained the operating system (XP).  My other drive is OK.  I have all the original cdroms, including the operating system.
I need to know if I should be careful what it is.

    Hello Nigel

Each hard drive is different with their adjustment as far as riders go unless you have purchased the same exact model. Make sure that you set the jumpers on the correct setting for the new hard drive with the manual that came with the hard drive. You can also reconnect the cables of data and power supply for the reader who does not appear because they can be loosened.
  • Need help with a new hard drive in pavillion wiring elite M9400

    Hello fellow owners HP,.

I recently bought a 1 TB hard drive for my Pavilion Elite M9400T.  I done my share of reading about installing to a new hard drive to another former post office and know how to physically install the disk in the slot, but my question starts with the wiring.

I have a M9400T and saw the video of the installation here in this post.  I read to the bottom when he talks about the installation of additional hard disks into the empty Bay and had questions about the son in photo 5 on the photo below. I realized that I needed a Sata cable, so I bought one today, but I wonder if I can use other cables inside the case already for power. And who will be all I have to do to get this properly installed disc? I took pictures so that it would be easier for me to ask for help.

A and B belong to my main hard drive and I want to know if I can use D (unused but looks like B) and a Sata cable bought my 2nd hard drive. I also noticed that B is related to C, which leads to the motherboard, so I didn't know if I needed to do the same for the 2nd drive.

Connectors SATA 1 and 6 are taken by my hard drive and DVD drive (I think) cannot so I just put my 2nd hard drive on one of the remaining of the caps of 2-5?

Thanks in advance for any and all tips and suggestions.

BTW, I I was able to install the sticks of memory 2x2gb today without any problems for a total of 6 GB today but no matter what slots? I added the 2 slots of the fan and it seems to work very well.

SO, Yes, you can use power connector would be ' for your new hard drive.  If you look closely at the image of a ' and follow the Red wire, it runs directly on the white molex (P4) beside the PSU connector.  He doesn't have to go to the motherboard.  Is not feed all the other components.

  • If I replace my hard drive, what I need to do to install my OS (Vista) on the new hard drive? I don't have an OS disc (factyory installed).

MS Vista was preinstalled on my computer. (I bought it new.) It did not come with a MS Vista program disc.) My hard drive has crashed and I need to replace it. What should I do to get the Vista OS on my new hard drive.

    Hello

There is no Windows Vista downloads available from Microsoft.

You can contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send you a set of recovery disks.

They should do this for a small fee.

Some manufacturers have more available Vista recovery disks.

If this happens, you may need to try this instead:

You can also borrow and use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

I have a HP Pavilion dv7 laptop and recently the hard drive has failed...

It was running windows 7 home basic 64-bit and did not come with recovery disks.

im going to buy a new hard drive to replace soon and I was wondering what discs do I have to get my system running again?

A member of the family has the same exact computer and I made a recovery disk of the Panel out of it. can I use this disc to install windows or anything? I don't really want to buy hp disc because I don't want any additional programs but if I wrong choose on a windows disk $7,100.

Yes, you need a Windows install disc. However, there may be a way to restore from the image of the system of the other computer you have, that you say is the same. I'll get back to you on how to do it later.

You can also use the restore disc, you created from this computer.  If it is exactly the same.  I'm not sure of the legality of it, but...
