  When you say "he keeps giving me...". ", what is"it "?  Are you saying that WIndows asks if you want to, say, open the device with Windows Explorer or do nothing or some other options?  It is the Autoplay detect that a device has been mounted and asking what you want to do.  Tell him not to do anything or to open it in Windows Explorer and then check the option always use this choice.

• Restore the backup after using a temporary machine for 2 months?

  I had a problem with my MBP that had a new motherboard fitted.

  Before he went to the interview, I did a full backup and for the 6 weeks have used a temporary MBAir.  When I started to use Air, I have a full restore from backup that I thought that I would need only there for about 1 week.  I copied all my work files needed overall, but don't mind not upload any music, photos, etc.

  I now have my MBP back and need to restore from the backup, BUT I also want to be able to synchronize all my work files, so that new files, I added to my working directories or keep the files that I have updated in the last 6 weeks.

  Very difficult. Above all, it should only be done manually.

  On the laptop with clean OS... assistant migration allows to recover your files in the backup.

  The MBA, copy the files to the MBP... easy enough for documents etc... hard work with emails... etc.

  The backup solution only a click would be from a third-party vendor. There are a number of companies that are highly regarded in the field.  I can recommend Paragon Drive Copy 12 Compact or professional. I have provided a copy of the Paragin Drive Copy Professional program by the manufacturer and he surpassed all the other cloning utilities I have used over the past years. I use it to make an image of the hard drive of my laptop that I store on an external drive.

• RMAN - location on the backup disk full

  Hi guys, I have problem with RMAN backup of some databases is strongly exploited during a day. We have storage problem (disk backup destination) when you do the backup of it. I would like to change retention for this database from 2 to only 1 day because these disk backupsets heading a tape every night. But before I do that, I need free space on the backup disk that is almost 100% full.
  
  So my question is possible to delete old backup sets and continue the backup operation? If this is the case, I could just delete backupsets of RMAN, simply delete all backups of full disk location and simply take the new backup?

  According to my understandig of your question... you want to remove the last backup because you save it to tape. If it is problem, then remove the rman backup.

  RMAN > delete noprompt backup; and continue the backup for the next days

• RV180 need some advice/Suggestion regarding the rules of access and Services

  Hi, I expected to get some advice or suggestion with a RV180 question.  I have a cable modem connection that connects to my port WAN RV180 and we have a single static IP address on the WAN port and everything works great.  We have an internal Exchange Server, so we have a few inbound rules access allowing for ports 443 and 25.  It all works.

  This is the question that I encounter.  We have now another service internal now needs outside inside access on port 443 (https), but I already have this configuration on the router for Exchange and when I have both sense, of course, it won't work correctly because the router just takes the first rules of access and use the one that works very well for traffic Exchange , but not my other service.

  Is there another way to get this job where I can have two internal services on port 443 and the router can forward traffic appropriate to each of them since my first IP? (it doesn't really matter if I had two IP addresses because it always hits the same access list for internal services)

  Hi, yours is a general networking, not specific to RV180 problem.

  As you have only one IP public (on the WAN port), you only have a single port 443, you can support two services outside-to-inside.

  The cheapest solution is one of the services to another port, if the service permits.

  The most expensive solution is to have public IP addresses.

  I use Windows, and we need to make visible hidden files and folders in order to see the App data access path.  OSX has a similar feature?  If you have spent the hidden files and folders things, remember what I said about the registration of CC2015 the path of the CC2014 file.  That one made me as well, but I worked it out by asking Photoshop to load new brushes and checked the place he was looking for.

• The new Cluster of 5.5 ESXi backup solution.

  All,

  We have built a new Cluster on ESXi 5.5 with 2 servers DL380 G8 (hosts) and a HP Storevirtual 4330 connected via iSCSI to SAN storage. ISCSI all have 4 cards attached to an iSCSI network 1 GB Switch.

  The HP Storevirtual 4330 has 7 TB of space but will be 1-1, 5 to virtual machines and the data on it. processors Xeon 2 x 16 and 256 GB of RAM in each host.

  There are 10 VMs (2008 R2) server on the cluster.

  I also have a G8 DL360 with 5 TB of space on it and an autoloader CF HP 1/8 (I need to make the weekly and monthly strips for compliance requirements).

  I have 4 additional network adapters in the present to connect to the iscsi san network if it is an advantage.

  All my previous backups were backups on tape, but will have to be different.

  I was wondering what is the best solution for me compared to

  What types of backups are best (instant storevirtual, POS or software (Backup Exec and VEEAM are my options)

  Where to store data backups (SAN or a space on the backup win2008 server)

  What kind of backup gives less impact on the performance of the SAN, hosts or VMS running.

  Deduplication is assistance in the management of space, if so what should it be set up.

  If you use StoreVirtual as the underlying storage, no doubt, then take a look at Veeam that deeply integrates the device said, allowing you to use SAN snapshots during the backup process.   If the Time Capsule and MacBook Pros are not on the same network, the MacBook is not backup in the time Capsule. You probably see what snapshots leaving MacBook on the local disk, until the two are reconnected. If you don't want that to happen, disable Time Machine on a different network.

• After that I restored the backup Thunderbird using Mozilla Backup, any of my accounts table. I checked that they are in need of backup, lift the mail.

  I backed up my 24 Thunderbird using Mozilla Backup. I did what I had to change one of my accounts. After making the changes, I decided to restore the backup I took. Restore seems to work and I checked the profile is correct and e-mail accounts are in the mail folder. However, when I run Thunderbird, only the Local folder is displayed, any of my email accounts.   Did not have that clearly in your post.

  According to what you actually did Re: evolution of the accounts, & if the backup has been restored in the way (profile) accounts (and the profiles.ini file) think they are in. if the profile is now in a different path, you will need to change the path in the file profiles.ini to reflect the correct path.

  Also, sometimes after restore or do other work, the *.msf files in e-mail files get damaged or simply confused. The .msf files are in the same folder as the Inbox, sent, etc.. They are the index files - not electronic mail storage files. (the mail storage files do not have extensions).

  Often, when the email that actually exist in the mail files does not show in the accounts, remove only files *.msf in each acct mail storage file will correct it. This is the easiest step to try, but again - it depends on actions leading to the question.

  They will be recreated when TB restarts & apparently can "fix" themselves, to redisplay stored messages. Unless something on current storage files is corrupted.

• I want to delete search suggestions in the drop down menu in the address bar. I don't have swagbucks - is there another solution?

  I want to keep my bookmarks/history in the address bar, but delete the search suggestions that appear. These suggestions have barely started to appear last week, and they are boring and useless! • Cannot restore bookmarks. "Unable to process the backup file." I tried all of the solutions that I can find online.

  I am under W7 and 14.01 FF. My FF admin account works fine. My work account has problems. In the past I was able to get the bookmarks to return but not this time.

  The favorites were there yesterday morning and disappeared in the afternoon. Nothing has changed between the AM and PM to my knowledge. I tried every solution that I could find online but still no bookmarks.

  Problems with bookmarks and history does not properly can be caused by a corrupted database places.sqlite file.
