I can't put music on my iPod cause it says I need to restore

As test, try to stop (off) your computer and unplug all USB devices.  You can leave a standard USB keyboard and mouse connected, if used.  Turn the shuffle switch to position OFF, so previous ON.  Computer, run iTunes and connect the iPod to a USB direct on the computer by itself.  Try to do a restore again.  Any difference once the restoration is complete?

  • Mini Mac doesn't have firewire port to restore my iPod 1st generation

I have a very old iPod (first generation, I think, with 4 buttons below the screen and a scroll wheel).  I want to restore the iPod and erase all my music and other data before giving it away to a computer reuse and recycling instead.  When I try to do with iTunes, I get a message saying that I need to connect with Firewire.  But the firewire on my iPod cable connection does not fit the ports Firewire on my Mac Mini to 2012.  Is there another way to restore?

I have a very old iPod (first generation, I think, with 4 buttons below the screen and a scroll wheel).

It's actually a 3rd gen iPod, if these four buttons are round buttons touch (this orange glow), in a row between the screen and support on wheel.  It has a connector dock, as later iPods, but he charges that a port FireWire, and you must connect to a FireWire port when you perform a restore.

You need to connect it to a computer running iTunes to do a restore.  If your Mac mini has a FireWire port, FireWire 800.  You need an adapter like this one, to convert it to a FireWire 400.

(You must also FireWire to home cable supplied with iPods).

  • I restored my iPod, but now, only 300 2000 songs will be synchronized in all, no music videos, movies or TV shows will synchronize

I have restored my iPod, but now only 300 songs 2000 + can be synced through. No music videos, movies or TV shows will be synchronized.

Songs must be store on the local storage of the computer to sync with your iPod.  Find one of the songs that will not sync to the iPod in your library iTunes music.  Right click it and get the information.  In the Info window, file tab, look at the location.  Does show a path of file to local storage on your computer, or does mean iCloud?

Another way to see is to show your iTunes music library using the songs view (list of simple songs with columns).  If the column download iCloud is currently hidden, make visible (line header right click to show/hide columns).  This column is narrow with a cloud symbol in the title.  If you see a symbol of the cloud with the arrow pointing down to the songs (in this column), these songs are stored only in iCloud.  It is not accessed by iTunes from your computer storage.

Thus, for the issuance of songs, a possible reason for the synchronization only 300 songs is because the rest are accessed iCloud (Apple servers).  These song files can still be stored on the storage of your computer, but iTunes lost track of the local copy for any reason whatsoever and is now with access to icloud.  Maybe you moved the folder iTunes Media manually at a certain time and these records of existing local songs got 'lost' in iTunes; the 300 songs are those that you added from this point, so iTunes knows where these music files (and can sync them to your iPod).

For your movies and TV shows, the cause could be the same. You can access them by streaming from iCloud, instead of local storage.  You will also need to set up the settings screen of the iPod for the synchronization of the TV shows and movies, if you haven't already.  To view these images, select the iPod in iTunes (click on its button on the device on the horizontal bar) to display the settings for the abstract of the iPod in the iTunes window.  The side left (in the sidebar), under settings, click on movies (and TV shows).  To the right, check the box for the Films of synchronization ( sync TV Shows) and set up the synchronization.  Then, click apply.

What is the real problem that requires to do a restore on the iPod?

  • try to restore the ipod because it has been disabled, but I get an unknown error 3194

my daughter has an ipod touch 6 iOS 8.4 and I believe that my son kept entering the wrong code and now it is disabled and needs to connect to itunes. I tried the steps to restore the ipod, but they did not work. I tried to use find my iphone to clear but he says his ipod is in offline mode, but it is lit. I tried to connect to itunes, and then put the ipod into restore mode, and then he would begin to download the update, but would then give an error. He says, "the iPod could not be restored. An unknown error occurred (3194). »

  • Restore the ipod to iTunes.

I'm trying to restore my iPod Touch 5 g ios9 settings using iTunes. I get an error message saying there are purchases on your iPod that have not been transferred to iTunes if you restore, you will need to purchase them again. I did everything what apple said to do it with no luck. What should I do?  Here is a picture of the error. PS If you're wondering why red. Red is my favorite color.

A feature introduced with iOS 9 called thinning or slicing app app allows each device to download just the code and resources required by this device, resulting in smaller downloads and a better use of the storage on the device. Therefore the device is no longer the universal version of the application that can be installed on any device to transfer applications is no longer supported. I hope that Apple will bring some changes to how it works, but in the meantime, you can download past purchases from iTunesor activate the automatic shopping app downloads to ensure that iTunes has always the apps you want on your device. As long as you make sure that all of the apps are present and updates in iTunes before you attempt a restore there should be no loss of data. I cannot confirm, but it seems a way to recent update all data are restored and apps that are not in the library are waiting to download from the iTunes Store over Wi - Fi, in a similar way to the restoration of the iCloud way works.

If you have already used transfer purchases then all your media should have been copied across. You can download all the apps in your purchase history and are still in the store. If you have something that since been deleted, for example Flappy bird, then you have lost the chance to make a security copy.

Interesting that he said that you would have to buy again. Audio books and video elements are not included in download repeat but apps should be covered and any purchased content would transfer. I would like to backup your device and make use of the file > devices > transfer purchases of aircraft. Use Alt or Ctrl + B to reveal if hidden menu bar. If you have content from more than one Apple ID, your computer must be authorized for each of them. If there is no content not purchased you want to get it back before you wipe see her unit recover your iTunes from your iPod or an iOS device.

  • I need to restore my phone, but my parents forgot restriction code. Help?

My parents have completely forgotten the restriction on my phone code. Apple says I need to restore it, but I can't do it without the restriction code. Is there a way I can get around this? Do I need to go to the apple store it self to fix it?

If you have forgotten the password for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, or your device is disabled - Apple supports

If you have a backup that was made so that you have a RESTRICTION password enabled, you cannot restore this backup because you re - will just access code that you don't remember.

You start as a new device and stay that way. In other words, your data is lost. The Apple Store has no way around that.

  • How to restore your ipod

How to restore your ipod I called and they told me to download the new version of Itunes and I did it I have a password I do not remember

Connect to the computer you normally sync in recovery mode, you will have the opportunity to put in place a new password for the screen lock during this process:

If you are unable to update or restore your iOS device

If you have forgotten the password for your iPhone, iPad or iPod touch, or your device is disabled

  • Cannot restore the iPod

I read the discussion for corrupt iPod Classic and tried all of the listed suggestions.

The iPod is not recognized by iTunes (latest version for my MacBook) and does not appear in the Finder.

When you run the diagnostic tests, he said the "cannot open device" and underneath that says "ERROR!" «Stop diag»

It does not appear in the disk utility so I can't try to repair the disk.

I tried restoring the DFU on the MacBook.  When I did this and open iTunes, it appear a message about restoring the iPod and has continued to prepare for the iPod but nothing ever happened.  I left that he connected for at least 20 minutes.

I also tried to plug it into our Windows laptop and it was acknowledged in the Manager of devices like Apple's USB device, but not in iTunes.

    Any other suggestions?

See iPod displays an icon 'X' Red - Apple Support. Apple may not have much interest in the classic iPod service. The line was removed some time ago. I would normally say that you look at corrupt iPod Classic, but if the error message indicates that the drive will not mount so you will not be able to read the stats.

See this recent post by Kenichi Watanabe - Re: iTunes save my iPod Classic 160 Gb -which gives a link to a possible replacement of DIY drive.

  • Apple TV 4th generation has need of restoration

I bought my Apple TV 4th generation in the UK and I use it to good advantage here at home, in Bolivia. However, when I switched it on the other day he said that I needed to restore the software. That's when I discovered that I needed a USB, USB - C cable. In all of Santa Cruz, Bolivia, after much research, I managed to get a cable. Why oh why Apple don't provide this cable with the TV? They provide a lightning cable to recharge the remote control.

Anyway - my question to the community is - everyone knows a 4th Gem Apple TV which must be retired? I used a 2nd generation Apple TV for a few years with no problems at all. Restores a normal need?

I had a lot of mountain BIKING throughout the years and never had need to restore, and most will never do. For those that do they choose to get a cable or take it to Apple
