  The base provided with your computer (Windows 7 Home Premium) license will already be a license of qualification. An Express (Windows 7 Home Premium to professional) upgrade may not be an eligible license because its an upgrade.   I'm new to these forums, but have questions.  I'm to customize a XPS8300 that I intend to buy soon.  Everything looks to be in order except the operating system.  I can't decide whether or not to choose Win7 Home Premium or Professional of Win7.

  What features of Win7 Pro do you need? I have Win7 Pro on my main machine, but I don't use any of the features. I use only cause I got it for free while I was in College. But I do not use the BitLocker feature (or I did when I had Vista Ultimate), I am more True Crypt fan myself. So, if you are looking for an encryption program that would be my recommendation.
