I uninstall ALL of JAVA Control Panel

I have a Dell OptiPlex 745, 8gig ram 2 TB of HARD drive running Win 7 64 bit home.  Malwarebytes technicians told me I couldn't have Java on my pc and in fact, because of the vulnerability, it would be a good idea to uninstall Java.  I went to control panel and everything I found was updating Java 8 60.

If I uninstall it from the control panel I get rid of all the Java code that helps make my pc vulnerable?

Or I have to 'clean up' my registry manually.  If I clean the registry I want to remove?

Rona,

"How canI know if I still need java at all.  "Is there a way to determine if my software requires Java?"

You probably need not Java more. Many sites of online banking to use it, but have since been redesigned.

The only way you will know if you 'don't even need all java' is if a trusted site, like a banking Web site online, displays a message that you don't need it.  If you see this message, do nothing until you have activated the browser address bar to make sure that you are not on a fake website dressed to look like the real thing.

I removed three weeks ago in Java and do not need at all.

  • Java Runtime Environment Java Control Panel settings

    Hello

I am trying to find a description and parameters for the user and system parameters in Runtime environments in the Java Control Panel.

I have read the information from the control panel:

    http://docs.Oracle.com/javase/7/docs/TechNotes/guides/deployment/deployment-guide/JCP.html

But it specifies precisely what are the user and tabs system allowing to configure.

This may be insignificant to most, but I can not find the correct answer.

Thanks in advance for your help.

On the settings for the user. The other is for the system as a whole. I know that's not all that much clearer! The settings in the control panel are attached to configuration files. Here are some details.

    http://docs.Oracle.com/javase/7/docs/TechNotes/guides/deployment/deployment-guide/properties.html#overview

The deployment.properties file is used to store and retrieve deployment configuration properties in the Java Control Panel. They are also used to customize the behavior of execution for Java plug-in and Java Web Start.

There is always a user-level deployment.properties file. Its location, which is not configurable, is described below. It can also be a (optional) to address system-level deployment.properties file. If it exists, its location is determined by an administrator via the deployment.config file as shown below.

    Hope this helps,
    Roger

  • Impossible to uninstall programs using the control panel

I am trying to remove several programs using Control Panel - Add or remove programs.  I get the following error

An error occurred trying to uninstall [program name].  It may have already been uninstalled.

Windows then gives an option to remove the program from the directory.  I did hope that he would then remove the program itself, but not luck.  The program is still listed under the start menu, all programs and runs correctly if clicked.

Any help to understand why the Panel think that the program is uninstalled when it's not would be very useful, as would a work-by-turn.

Remember - this is a public forum so never post private information such as numbers of mail or telephone!

    Ideas:

    • You have problems with programs
    • Error messages
    • Recent changes to your computer
    • What you have already tried to solve the problem

You could try to locate the individual uninstall each program feature. The names of these vary from one software to another manufacturer, but they are usually in the directory of the software program. If there is a specific application uninstall routine, it is often indicated by an UNINSTALL. LNK sortcut. If you follow this path, go to the program folder, then right click on the shortcut and run as administratoruninstall application.

To avoid just uninstall, you can try to locate any program that is associated with the program to be uninstalled, and ensure that it is not running in the background or as a service. Choose Start, MSCONFIG, tab Start to see most of the programs that run auto-magiquement on the computer starts. Common examples would include Office and Adobe programs Quick launch that preloading some components of the program.

You can also try a third party uninstall program that takes a more aggressive approah to the whole uninstall process. VS Revo Group is a free utility to do this.

    Revo Uninstaller (free)
    http://www.revouninstaller.com/revo_uninstaller_free_download.html

Like a lot of freeware, there is a 'Professional' ($) version that makes even more rigorous procedures, but the free version does a pretty good job.

  • My Windows 7 is 'Disable Java' in the Java Control Panel Security tab. There only certificates.

I'm trying to disable Java. Their site says to go to the control panel Java, Security tab and uncheck "Enable Java in the browser". I not give me that option, as under the Security tab it lists only "certificates."

This is because you have updated V.7 9 or less. To display this tab, you need to update your Java. Quite ironic; You must update to disable :-)

You can either do, or go to Internet Options, open the tab programs, and then click on 'Manage Add-ons'. Under 'display... '. "Select"All add-ons", scroll to the Oracle America in the right column, and then clear each of the items under it.

  • Why my java Control Panel windows7 opens when I click the icon?

I am running windows 7 64 bit edition Home premium on my laptop.  I had to do a system restore and now my java icon opens the control panel.  Can someone help me with this problem?  I've deleted and reinstalled my Java as suggested.  My icon is working now, however, I now have a 32 bit Java and my computer is 64-bit.  Can someone tell me how to get a 64 bit version?

    You can download it here
    http://www.Java.com/en/download/manual.jsp

Note the fact that you're computer is 64-bit isn't really the issue.   If you use the 64-bit version of Explprer Internet or another browser 64-bit and the 64-bit Java is also necessary.  Otherwise not so much.

  • Do we need to disable Javascript in Firefox / Options / content box? Or just in the Java Control Panel?

Need clarification on issues of Java. It is clear that we can disable Java in the configuration java itself or via the plug-in Panel.

However, what about the firefox options menu? When you click on Tools_Options_Content and then you can check or uncheck 'Enable JavaScript' - which is sure to be checked/enabled or also belongs to the security concern w / Java now?

Hello aladria, javascript is a different technology from java. Firefox 18 will not automatically execute the vulnerable version of the java plugin - on websites where it is used, you will need to enable it manually. in case you want to totally disable the java plugin because of the latest reports of the vulnerability 0-day-you can do it in firefox > addons > plugins.
