Do we need to disable Javascript in Firefox / Options / content box? Or just in the Java Control Panel?

Need clarification on issues of Java. It is clear that we can disable Java in the configuration java itself or via the plug-in Panel.

However, what about the firefox options menu? When you click on Tools_Options_Content and then you can check or uncheck 'Enable JavaScript' - which is sure to be checked/enabled or also belongs to the security concern w / Java now?

Hello aladria, javascript is a different technology from java. Firefox 18 will not automatically execute the vulnerable version of the java plugin - on websites where it is used, you will need to enable it manually. in case you want to totally disable the java plugin because of the latest reports of the vulnerability 0-day-you can do it in firefox > addons > plugins.

I'm trying to disable Java. Their site says to go to the control panel Java, Security tab and uncheck "Enable Java in the browser". I not give me that option, as under the Security tab it lists only "certificates."

This is because you have updated V.7 9 or less. To display this tab, you need to update your Java. Quite ironic; You must update to disable :-)

You can either do, or go to Internet Options, open the tab programs, and then click on 'Manage Add-ons'. Under 'display... '. "Select"All add-ons", scroll to the Oracle America in the right column, and then clear each of the items under it.

It is a global problem that JavaScript isn't running on any site? The power setting is always available in the topic: configuration preferences editor.

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste java and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) If javascript.enabled is in bold and set to false, double-click it to activate it return true. It takes effect immediately, but you will need to reload the problem pages, so Firefox reads scripts.

That repair or are sites remains a problem?

One way that your normal default preferences could be changed is an extension, and another by external software, creating a user.js file. If this problem persists, you can analyze these two.

  • I tried several times to install 'Flash Player' and it NEVER works. I can't view anything until that which works. It says I need to disable 'JavaScript' but I'm not in any of the places. Please tell me what to do.

Flash Player will not work. It will not download

    Hi Janny1,

JavaScript should not have to turn off. Try to completely uninstall Flash Player and then reinstalling the most recent version. For instructions on how to "completely" uninstall a Flash Player, read this Adobe Help article. If you have not installed Flash Player, or you have just uninstalled the Flash Player, download and install the latest Adobe Flash Player, available in the Adobe Flash Player Download Center.

1 clear your browser's cache and cookies on your computer.

For Windows Vista users: If the uninstallation and reinstallation of flash does not work this maybe due to a Microsoft Windows Vista permissions issue. Please use the Windows button below on the left then the search function:

    o go to: C:\Windows\System32\Macromed\Flash\

o right click on the following file: FlashUtil9b.exe or FlashUtil9e.exe

o select "Run as Administrator" and install the update.

If you have not downloaded java, you will need to download, install it. It can only be downloaded, installed and run desktop t5he - not from the beginning.  Then you should find it in the control panel.  Hope this helps and if you need another post to help and we will be happy to help you.

  • You will need to disable the blocking of "this connection is untrusted.

I don't know what happened, but lately, Firefox has become unusable. I can't even Google maps to work, and it's simply because of the following warning:

    =

    This connection is Untrusted

You asked Firefox to connect safely to maps.google.com, but we cannot confirm that your connection is secure.

Normally, when you try to connect safely, sites will present a reliable identification to prove that you're in the right place. However, the identity of this site cannot be verified.
    What should I do?

If you normally connect to this site without problems, this error can mean that someone is trying to impersonate the identity of the site, and you should not continue.

If you understand what is happening, you can tell Firefox to start to trust this site identification. Even if you trust the site, this error may mean that someone is tampering with your connection.

Add no exceptions unless you know there is a good reason why this site uses no identification of confidence.

    =

Not reliable? REALLY? Maps.Google.com is not approved! Oh, and support.mozilla.org is ALSO not reliable? I use Chrome for this post because in the case of support.mozilla.org, there is no option that allows me to the site.

Virtually all the sites that I have this problem and Firefox is now all but unusable for me. And I'm on a company computer, is not as if I had a lot of options here. And this isn't our business network, because only a few of us have this problem.

How can I work again and disable this 'feature' of Firefox?

    Thank you

  • How to disable the Java version check

I have a small pc based on Linux, Firefox running in kiosk mode. The pc is not connected to the Internet and only has access to a dedicated server under my control, serving a few Web pages and a java applet. Suddenly the system started complaining java my version of java is obsolete to spoil the kiosk display.

-How to have firefox figure on the java version is outdated so the Slingshot pc end or the back-end server have Internet access
-are there a way to disable security java verification in one of the firefox config files? Boots pc kiosk network, firefox profile is generated automatically, so I need a way to change this in the config files, not through the GUI that I won't be there every time the kiosk boots.

I am running Firefox 13.0.1, I know it's old but security is not a problem because I only go to my own server and update the version of firefox on the PXE image is a pain.

It turns out that the 9Oracle) Java installation has a built-in expiration date. He was so Java blocking himself, not firefox blocking Java.

To disable the Java version check, start the Java ("jcontrol") Panel, tab "Security" the security level to 'low '. This will disable all the controls of the version and run Java.

Needless to say that this should only be applied when executing in a completely controlled environment where you control the client and the server (as is the case in my setup).

  • Child can disable Windows Live Family Safety on notebook child through Control Panel

    Hello
My 14-year-old bought her own laptop.  I installed Windows life family safety (WLFS).

He informed me that he can turn it off via the control panel > user accounts and Family Safety > Parental control > provider Elite > [click on "None" or "WLFS"].

Suggested family security forums I set up an adult user and make me an administrator and my son a Standard user.  I tried, but his computer become unusable because it was not able to perform the same tasks such as access to the files he needed for the programming, install/uninstall a software, or perform maintenance on the system.

So, I removed the adult user and made my son admin. Now I have to go on trust.

Q: what other solution is there?  Is there another software that I can install it on his computer which will follow his activity but does not appear as a 'provider' in the Parental Control Panel?

It will not uninstall it, because then his computer should be removed.  I want to just keep him off for 2 minutes to check an adult site and then turn it on again - which is what he can do with the Windows parental control.
