• Continue to get the window indicating to restart Firefox to update.

  After my husband connects and Firefox starts, it continues to open window to restart Firefox to update. When I click on Firefox, it also indicates to restart Firefox to update. I've uninstalled and reinstalled Firefox from Mozilla.org 3 times now and this problem continues. Refresh also does not eliminate the problem. Click on Firefox in the Applications folder as version 49.0.2. Operating system is OS X El Capitan 10.11.6

  When I connect Firefox under my user, I have no problems.

  FYI - I'm on my iMac 10.11.6 today * MY * FFox updated to 50.0.1 and resolve the problem itself for me. My wife was always the 49.0.2 problem.

  I left FF on his account & renamed a subdirectory under his account from: ~/Library/Caches/Mozilla/updates/Applications/Firefox/

  and restarted FF for her. The problem seems to have disappeared.

  NOTE: FF autorebuilt dir ~/Library/Caches/Mozilla/updates/Applications/Firefox /, so it seems that this may have cleaned everything.

  NOTE 2: I had also deleted all files 'Firefox 49.0.2.dmg' both of our directories before hand, without any noticeable difference. If it helped or not, I don't know, but it should probably be the first step. :)

  Suppost Apple and I tried a lot of different things.   What have you done so far? Updated the primary e-mail address on your existing account, you did not create a new account? All content is linked to the account that has downloaded, if you created a new account, all of your existing applications will remain tied to your old account and only this account can download updates for them.
