There are nearly two and a half years since I am the owner of this laptop.
I want to overclock the processor, AMD Turion X 2 Ultra ZM 80, but I have found no information, guides or tutorials on this topic.
    Could someone help me?

    Thank you

    Hello

    I would not recommend this!
First I put t think you would be able to overclock the CPU from the laptop's BIOS does not support this option.
Secondly, the cooling modules could not be able to cool the CPU and it would lead to overheating and damage s notebook.

S of CPU for desktop PC can be overclocked as the cooling system desktop PC can be upgraded and you can use a system or other fans of cooling water
This allows to keep the temperature down, but it is not possible for laptops!

  • Improve my processor.

Lately, my laptop is running very slowly. I do a lot of digital pictures on it and the speed of that my computer runs on is to do that is very difficult. I don't know much about the upgrade of equipment, but I am considering installing a new processor. This would improve the speed of my laptop?

    My laptop:

    -HP Pavilion dv6

    -64-bit

    -Windows 7

    -6.00 GB RAM

-Current processor: AMD A8 - 3520 M APU with Radeon (TM) HD Graphics 1.60 GHz

I found this document that lists the different processors that I could use and how to install them. However, I don't know which one would be best for what I need.

I would really appreciate if someone could point me in the right direction or tell me anything else I could use to improve my speed. If you need me for more information on my laptop from the list, let me know!

    Thank you!

The link in your post does not work, but I guess that's the service manual. The key to your question, is that the computer has been slow "recent." For me, it means there is some software issue maybe same malware causing the slowdown. The processor you have is very capable; It is in the high average of laptop processors and is not the problem. Even 6 gigabytes of RAM is not the matter that you could easily and cheaply benefits by installing a second 4 GB module instead of ther current 2 module in concert to make the laptop have 8 GB, I think it's sweet spot today in terms of costs and benefits and he would have the advantage of allowing the memory to run in mode dual channel which is maybe 8 to 10% faster. An upgrade of the cell processor is a major surgery and not to get in a first draft of computer technician. If you need to buy a high end processor and it will be very expensive to pay for the work. I suggest trying the upgrade memory first. I don't have the exact model to tell you exactly what memory you need. Second, the real bottleneck in the laptops of today's hard drives. Generally, they are models of slow 5400 RPM. You can speed up the laptop a lot for a lot cheaper than a processor upgrade by installing a faster hard drive a hybrid or a solid state drive. Post back if this is interesting and we're still working on some free software cleaning techniques that could make all this moot.

What is the maximum ram I can put in Pavilion 15N with processor AMD RADEON?

    Hello.

The capacity is 16 GB maximum supported RAM in this model, you can go ahead and update if you want to.

In addition, you can take a look at the technical details of your laptop and follow the steps to change the RAM:

  • I have a hp pavilion dv6-1204au laptop. I was wondering if I can improve my processor?

    my laptop specs are as...

    model #: dv6-1204au

    p/n: VH915PA #AJC

If I can improve my processor, what are the options? Help, please!

    Hello

    1. first of all, you should use 35W processor otherwise, this is going to work, not because of heating but to provide other components, including the power. Depending on the applications, upgrading CPU not see no improvement because the neck of the bottle may reside on other components such as the FSB, RAM and HARD drive. Normally, we use the term related to UC or i/o, destined for these applications related to the CPU (a) If, will certainly help the CPU upgrade, but (b) if I/O bound applications, upgrading CPU is a waste.

2 normally the upgrade of RAM will be a big jump in the peformance but once again something has a limit, to the point of the machine does not support AND applications, including the operating system (OS) cannot address all the RAM (such as the 32-bit OS can not address more than 4 GB of RAM in theory). The next "big" thing is upgrading the HARD drive using more than rpm or SSD. But again, I always say to people: you want a car with seats in leather, GPS,... or pay money for 2 seconds faster when starting?

Sorry, I can talk all day about the benefits and disadvantages of the machine upgrade and it's normally price/performance, the real dollars in the end, need for the user to sit and think: it is better to the dollars we spent.

    Kind regards.

  • Processor AMD Phenom 9150e Quad-Core

I want to update my previous post. HP support has just informed me that my processor has four-processor 1.8 ghz, integrated into a processor and it will run to approximately 6 GHz. From my calculations, if that were true, it should work to 7.2 ghz. It seems that I get a different answer depending on who reads my email. What I want to know is can I run a TV tuner card thatrewuires a 2.2 ghz processor, but I can't get them to answer this question. Help!

I just replied to your previous post:

Everything I've seen says a 1.8 ghz processor, but it's a Quad Core. Probably the specs say you need a processor 2.2 ghz P4 or something like that. The processor you have is much faster than a single core 2.2 ghz cpu. I would be shocked if she can't handle a tv tuner.

You can only install the processor AMD Phenom 9350 X 4 in addition to what you have. It is 2 ghz and not worth the hassle of upgrading.

HP response is not exactly true. You can't just multiply by the number of hearts clock speed... it's not as simple as that. But in the concept, it is true that a Quad Core (4 processors on the same chip) is much faster than 1 core the same speed as I said above. You have a very powerful computer. There is never the fastest for more than a day or 2 it seems but yours is certainly in the top 4 or 5% of all the computers in the House over yonder. Next year, it will be in the top 10% and the year after, etc.

  • Processor AMD FX incompatible with steam

A few months ago, I bought a HP desktop computer new with a top of the processor AMD FX line. However, it seems that there are some problems with them and the Steam game platform. Several games doesn't work, such as Total War: Shogun 2, with an AMD FX processor. It is a problem experienced by AMD, and all the major motherboard companies have fixed their BIOS to solve the problem. (See: http://support.amd.com/us/kbarticles/Pages/STEAMGamesonAMDFXplatforms.aspx ) However, as HP customizes their motherboards, none of these fixes work. When HP will address this issue? I got several tickets and emails about it so far.

    Thank you

Ok. It seems that your PC BIOS has been updated (I think it's the BIOS of your PC, but check template in the page header and the version of the OS just to be sure):

This should be what you need. I hope this helps and thanks for the comments.

  • Why can't I view all of the processor AMD under ESX Server 4.1 information?

    Dear Sir.

Our server ESX 4.1 uses the AMD CPU as below.

    Processor AMD MAGNY-COURS, 8 cores, 1.86 GHz, D1, G34r1, 512 KB, 85W, 12 MB,

Why we cannot see the complete information of the processor AMD under ESX Server 4.1?

Some of the items would be "unknown". Please refer to the attachment "cpu.jpg" and "F01.jpg".

In addition, hyperthreading is always displayed "inactive". Is this correct?

Please refer to the attachment "hyperthreading.jpg" and "report.jpg.

    Thank you!

Interesting...  Even if our AMD procs say normal, when you click on the plus sign indicates CPU status: unknown

  • HP Z600: What processors am I limited with the hpz600 workstation?

    Hi, I have a HP Z600 that I bought refurbished. The vehicle currently has 2 x Xeon X 5560 2.8 cpus.

I am struck with this configuration cpu load limit (I run the intensive 3d modeling software), and I want to improve.

Am I limited with the motherboard on these workstations?

Which processors that you would recommend? (I looking for a quite intensive help and have a few hundred dollars to spend).

    Thank you!

anti1, older versions of the Z600 support microprocessors Intel 55xx only, later versions support as 55xx 56xx CPUs.  The best way to determine this is to boot the system, enter the BIOS F10 setup and look at the date of starting block.

If the boot block date is 03/01/2009, the system supports the 55xx only processors.

If the block start date is 07/01/2010, the system supports processors 55xx both 56xx.

-C' is the block of start date, not the date of the version of the BIOS.

-There is no way to update the boot block.  (There are several discussions in this forum about this)

If your system has the block to start later, upgrade to a 6 core CPU 56xx will give best performance.  I think that the frequency of the processor 6 c is 3.47 GHz, although there is a 4 processor 3.6 GHz.  Your application supports multiple cores?

To get an idea of any increase in performance, look at the reference site of CPU of the pass mark for the top processors of range, here.

Based on these landmarks (I know, they are markers without real object numbers), you could get about 70% performance increase by using a X 5690 6 3.47 GHz CPU core.  Is it enough for your application?

    Hello

    all Toshiba laptops are preconfigured.
But as you say, memory and HARD drive are important to you, this is no problem. This can be improved.
Look for a model with the right processor and then upgrade if necessary.

  • Satellite P300-150: slow processor during the test with the id tool intel

    Hello

I just bought a Satellite P300-150 and it was working well in general... play lotro with few problems, but not in dx10 cos it chuggs as hell.

I noticed he had a genuine problem of warhead of the crisis in the recommended settings, but thought it was just cos he couldn't do.

But I downloaded the untilty of Intel processor id and he gave the following results... as you can see on the bottom 4 lines the processor is very upset with the expected results for the frequency and buses (fewer than half actually).

Intel recommends if there is a huge gap, I need to contact the manufacturer... which brought me here.
Any advice before contacting tech support directly?
Just maybe I can play warhead after all! : o).

    Hello

Satellite P300-150 was equipped with the Intel Core 2 Penryn T8300 processor.
This processor supports Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology.

Enhanced Intel SpeedStep technology allows the system to dynamically adjust the tension and the processor core frequency. This means that the CPU doesn't always work with maximum performance, but only if it of needed. This helps minimize the heat dissipation and allows to secure the battery energy!

The CPU seems to be slow check with the Intel ID tool ;)
