I want my "address bar" not looking for Google and Yahoo

Firefox or McAfee gave me a pop up on 'Safe Search'. I'm not sure that I clicked, but now when I type an address search or site Web in the bar 'address' on my firefox (latest version), I just get a list of yahoo Web sites. For example, previously, if typed 'BBC' I would be redirected to the BBC website, whereas now I just get a list of results from Yahoo on "BBC".
Please help - I searched a lot of places for a solution.
