  I liked using the new tab button, which disappeared from the most recent version, I had to go back to 38 to find it and put it back on my toolbar. However, I was not able to set the way in which the new tab opens, next to the page that I am. Previously, if I clicked on the new tab button, a new tab would open at the far right of the tabs. I tried to fix it by going to about: config, changing the browser.tabs.insertrelatedaftercurrent to 'false' to 'true' as was the fix in 2013. Alas, it doesn't now and I want to change it back.   If your new tab button opens a tab in the middle of your tabs, it could be a feature of an extension related to tab.   I have moved your question to the windows - Forum Office topic. I suspect that your windows disappearing off the screen on a desk to externded. Check your display settings and make sure that only a single monitor/screen is shown as active.

  Thanks for your post.  Have you ever had two monitors connected to your computer?  If so, this is probably still in place and tries to open the windows on the other monitor.  You can correct this by ensuring that your computer settings are for a single monitor.  If you have never had a second monitor, the first step would be to scan your computer for malware.

  Use the malicious software removal tool to perform your analysis.

• I try to maintain a "split screen" of two separate windows. Both windows are open on the left and I need an opening on the left and the other to open on the right

  I have a fixed window on the left side of my screen and I need coninuously to open and close a second window on the right side of my screen.  The right window keeps opening on the left on my fixed window.  How can I keep the fixed windows left and right opening and closing (or variable) in place on opposites of the screen?
