I want to replace the DVD-RAM UJ-846 for Qosmio G20-127

Hello

I want to replace my carpet * a DVD-RAM UJ-846 of the G20-127.
Someone knows his apare part # and any sugestion wich RAM is compactables for my machine and better plase to get?

Hello!

If you want to replace your CD/DVD drive, you should look in your user manual. It should be a list of compatible drives that work with Notepad. Check it!

The new RAM should be a SO-DIMM DDR2-533. The part number for 1 GB is PA3411U-1M1G.

Finally and most importantly the best place for spare parts is the authorized service provider. They order all the original parts of Toshiba and the Toshiba site, you can search for the closest.

Good bye

  • Want to buy the remote control full size for Qosmio X 500-116

    Hiya,

I am looking to buy a full-size remote for my Qosmio (little disappointed he did not come with one).

First question is my machine not come with a remote control means that my machine will not work with a remote control? (the manual says that some machines come with them and others do not)

I have looked on the toshiba site and did some research online, but nothing yet.

If someone can point me in the right direction, I would be grateful

    THX

    Bren

PS - It's the full-size remote, I am after not the slim size it (both are listed in the manual)

    Hello Bren

In my opinion the situation is clearer:

Some models are delivered with and without remote control. For remote control, you need equipment that send the signal (remote control you have in hand) and the device receiving the signal.
Receiving so-called is built-in the laptop.
If your laptop comes without remote control, I presume that he doesn t also have receiver inside.

Following this logic, I don't think that your laptop works with remote but I do not understand what kind of remote you are writing about.

I can only imagine that third part product with external remoter that can be connected to your Qosmio as USB device, you can buy. I'm sure that Logitech has these products in order to check a little Logitech page to see what they have to offer for multimedia application.

    Good luck.

  • Satellite M30 - error message after replacing the DVD drive

    Virgin, excused my English ;)
I have a satellite m30 and I replaced the DVD-cd-rw drive in series with a SLIM NEC ND-6650 DOUBLE LAYER, DVD time bios gives me error
    0203: failure IDE #2
Is it possible to remove this message?

    Hello

As far as I know that this message can not be eliminated and it happens every time if you want to use the drive is not compatible. Always is it that all readers may not work with all models of laptops.

In this case, fundamental problem is the pin assignment. It is not the same in all players.

  • Satellite L30-105 (PSL33E) Windows Vista does not see the DVD - ram UJ-850 s

    Hello

I have a Satellite L30-105 (PSL33E) with windows Vista. Windows Vista does not recognize the DVD - ram. BIOS recognize DVD-ram. I tried to download the drivers for the DVD-ram, but they are not on the side of Toshiba.

Who can help me to get the right driver or learn more? Problems with the carpet * a DVD-ram uj-850 s ATA device and windows Vista.

    Hello

The CD/DVD drive needs no special drivers!
Vista includes a Microsoft driver that works with all CURIOUS s (CD/DVD drives)

Simply said, the Vista should recognize the drive without any problems.

A few questions; did you get any error messages? What is the status of Device Manager? Do you see yellow exclamation points?

There is an old way to correct a similar drive problem. It worked on XP then try it on Vista OS.
It of necessary to update the registry entry
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Contro l\Class\ {4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

    1. click on the start menu.
    2. If it is a Vista machine in the search box type regedit without quotes.
    3. look for the registry key mentioned above.
    4. in the right panel you'll see something along the lines of UpperFilter and UpperFilter you want to click on each key filter and tap on delete. Click Yes when asked to confirm if you want to delete the key.
    5. restart Windows.
6 let me know if it works.

  • M30 - 107 - replace the DVD - RW drive?

I replace the DVD - RW drive in my laptop. I was wondering if someone could tell me the steps that would be involved in it, or else where I might be able to find this information.

    Thank you!

    Hi Philippe,.

Feliks is altogether correct with his comments about your request. Because the device is "fixed" in your notebook will invalidate you your warranty if you replace yourself.

However, as with most laptops, CD/RW can be removed if you really want to. It is normally split into place and then fixed by one or two screws. For example, my A30 is secired by a single accessible screw from the base of the laptop. I don't know about the model M30 you need so you will need to check where it is attached.

Once the screws are released, the unit can be slipped out of its slot.

You should then be able to find the label on the device and this will tell you the serial number and model.

If you are replaceing with a similar device, then you will probably have to remove the plastic frame and cut panels and mounting brackets and adapt them to the new unit.

Replace the unit and the re - fix it with the screws and the work is done then.

You can, of course, replace your device with another (Toshibe notebooks) do use several different, but there is no guarantee that you new unit will work properly without having to install new drivers for it.

  • I want to replace the 40 GB HDD on Satellite M50 130

I want to replace the hard drive, because it becomes unreliable, but can't fnd the specs.
Can someone help with the exact specifications please?
Is the drive IDE or SATA?
    Size = 2.5 inches?

I think the original size is 40 GB, can I replace it with any size?

Did the removal and easy replacement? Are there instructions please?
I have a horrible feeling that there may be data recovery for the operating system on a hidden in the drive partition.

Is this correct? May only be transferred to a new hard drive?
    Thank you very much
    Nick

Satellite M50-130 has been delivered with the 2.5 "60 GB HARD drive.
This HARD disk supports a rotational speed of 5400 RPM and it supports an improved IDE (ATA 6) interface.

If you need a HDD IDE and not SATA

  • Replace the DVD RW Drive (Sftware)

Hi I have a m8013w desktop pc. I have lightscribe. My DVD drive has failed and I ordered a new one that comes with the lightscribe software. My question is that I have to use the software installation disc which will come with the new drive or am I ready for departure without having to reinstall the software. I have now. I'm on the other procedure like uninstall in Device Manager and replacing the drive. I'm not sure how my software would be affected and the purpose of the disk that is shipped if I have lightscribe. Or are there other things on the installation disc. It is not mentioned in the instructions. Thank you.

    Keith

You don't need to do anything about this either except to replace the DVD drive... do not worry about the installation of new software or uninstalling the driver from Device Manager.

  • want to replace the faulty wireless card in dv6

    Hello

I want to replace the card wireless in my HP Pavilion dv6 Notebook (product LK384PA #ABG number).

I read somewhere (in a lot of places actually) that the BIOS will almost certainly turn off the map (may even refuse to system startup).

My current faulty card is Intel Centrino Wireless - N 1000 (model 112BNHMW).

    Issues related to the:

If I buy the same model of card off ebay - the bios will allow it? Or the card should be "tattooed HP?

If I can't find a map tattooed HP on ebay - I'll be able to use a USB wireless card?

    TIA

    Hello:

Here is the link to the service manual for your laptop.

Cards supported with the corresponding reference numbers are in Chapter 3 begins on page 19.

What you said is correct. You only NEED to install one of the maps in the maintenance manual and it MUST have this part number HP on it or it won't work at all.

Laptop you don't POST until the unsupported card is removed.

Make your request eBay only by the number of the desired part. Do not interview the model of the card.

You can also get most of the HP maps (of course that you will probably pay more) on the site below.

Enter the part number you want to buy. If this is not available, you can call HP and give them your model number and the wireless card you want and see if you can get it that way.

    http://h20141.www2.HP.com/hpparts/default.aspx?mscssid=A3443EA1154544F59545214567C9763E

Or you can use the PartsSurfer from HP:

    http://PartSurfer.HP.com/search.aspx

Yes, you can use a wireless USB adapter, but I recommend that go into your BIOS and disable the onboard or remove physically, if you never want to use again.

  • Mast of Qosmio G20 * a DVD-RAM UJ-846

OK, now I am really mad. I bought my Qosmio G20-127, almost a year and a half ago, and since then he has been three times on the repair. And all three times, it was the same thing: THE OPTICAL DRIVE.
It always starts the same, firstly it does not read some discs, then it reads all CDs, then it will not burn them, and slowly but surely it goes to dvd as well.

So what do I do. Every six months my Qosmio, which was not a market good model btw, must go to a repair, and the FSA here move at a glacial speed when it comes to Toshiba.

Can what advice you give me? Can I request a replacement model, I don't know how is the same error comes over and over again? Maybe it's the incompatibility of the circuits installed toshiba (I not sure touched a thing).

    PLEEEEEASE HELP!

    Hello

This is a very sad story boyfriend, but I don't the opinion of t would be a CD/DVD drive died after 6 months of use, again and again.
Of course if the player is stressed all the time throughout, it is possible that the lens of the player could give place and then it s not possible to manage the CD or DVD.

You ask for advice? Well, I'd say contacting ASP in your country and speak for this strange behavior of the CD/DVD drive.

Sorry, but I don't see another solution if there is a hardware problem, then the device must be replaced.

    Dude good luck
