i3 overclocking

I was wondering how do I unlock the turbo boost on the i3 model No. 500 - 374na as computer it only works world of tanks on parameters min. If I had know this I would have not bought the * bleep * thing but for one new count I find that unacceptable or could it be down to 8.1 windows?. Can I install windows 7 pro or ultimate on it?

The computer you purchased is not a gaming machine and will never be.  If you want to overclock your see CPU that, but you do so at your own risk.

http://www.PCMag.com/Article2/0, 2817,2421233,00.asp

Downgrading to Windows 7 will not improve the performance of the system.  Windows 8.1 is safer.

I would uninstall McAfee with their removal tool that will help.

If you just bought the computer see if you can return it for a more efficient system.

    PhoeNiX777, welcome to the forum.

You can go into the BIOS to find the section for Overclocking.  As for how far can the processor be what OC'd? -It depends on the processor.  I've never found two processors that OC the same.  The best policy is to take in small increments.  This ensures that it is not too overheat.  HEAT is your enemy.  Liquid cooling can make a big difference, but it still has its limits.

    Could someone help me?

    Thank you

    Hello

    I would not recommend this!
First I put t think you would be able to overclock the CPU from the laptop's BIOS does not support this option.
Secondly, the cooling modules could not be able to cool the CPU and it would lead to overheating and damage s notebook.

S of CPU for desktop PC can be overclocked as the cooling system desktop PC can be upgraded and you can use a system or other fans of cooling water
This allows to keep the temperature down, but it is not possible for laptops!

Hello, I currently own the HP Pavilion Touchsmart laptop 15-b153nr and descriptions on all Web sites, it is listed on indicates the speed of the processor is clocked at 1.6 GHz to 2.4 GHz AMD Quad - Core A8 - 4555 M accelerated processor. Is that means the laptop can be overclocked to 2. 4 GHz? If so, how would I go all this? Thank you.

It is the turbo boost done automatically by the system itself. It is a fast processor - APU.

    Hi clucabest,

If you need a laptop with more CPU power, why you didn t buy a laptop with faster processor?

In addition, an overclocking feature does not for me. Everything will be controlled automatically to protect the equipment. Overclocking produces more heat and the cooling fan has not been tested with higher settings.

In addition, you will lose the warranty if you overclock your laptop!

    Hello

It is locked in the BIOS. If you want to overclock build your own machine, do not use the machines of the brand. Reason: overclock machine will generate more heat and can fried a machine at any time. No seller would send customers machines returning due to lack of material.

    Hello everyone

Is it possible to overclock toshiba tecra 8100 with 600 MHZ processor, please? If so haw can do?

There is no option in the BIOS to overclock the system, it is not a good idea in a laptop because the cooling system is designed to cool the CPU at stock speed. Overclocking can cause the system to overheat and fail.

  • Limitation on Qosmio X 870 after overclocking

I wanted to overclock this laptop.

So I did a simple 5 mhz just to test.
Restarted the computer and now the touchpad is a little nervous every now and new and videos YouTube tend to break/butterfly to more short seconds, always annoyingly noticeable.

So I got the system to the point just before I changed the settings on overclocking.
But it's still a royal pain.

I; ve defragmented the system, registry etc with tuneup utilities, etc.

    What can I do else?
My Bios is currently the latest I think. Is it possible to re - install the same bios?

What else can I clean, difficulty or re - install when, with regard to the limitation?

    > I wanted to overclock this laptop.
    > So I did with a single 5 mhz just to test.

Sorry to say it buddy but something like that is really irresponsible
Any changes made to the GPU or CPU performance can damage the equipment.

    > What can I do?
    What about the Toshiba Recovery?
The laptop back to factory settings using the recovery of HARD drive and reinstall the system image.

    > My Bios is currently the latest I think. Is it possible to re - install the same bios?
No, if you have the most recent, you can't Flash it again
What you can do is to set the BIOS to default settings.
You can do this in the BIOS

  • Overclocking GPU on Satellite L750/L755

I have a Satellite L750/L755 with a 525 m GTX and whenever I try to overclock the laptop turns off immediately when starting a game. She even turns off when I bit overclock? Sometimes it turns off without reason playing games too, very rarely well.

Temperatures are slightly more than 68 degrees Celsius during playback, so I don't think it's a problem of temperature. Please help, im worried am I even supposed to be OCing at all?

I agree with Akuma. Overclocking on mobile machines is a very bad idea. The first in doing so you will void the warranty and in case that something will not Toshiba will do nothing for free.

Due to the specific design specifications have cooling system suitable for certain model and certain hardware platform. Overclocking will change this balance between the performance of the graphics card and cooling system, so the risk of damage GPU will be much higher.
    > Sometimes it turns off without reason playing games too, very rarely well.
There must be some reason, probably too high temperature.

When you play games make sure laptop sits on the desk and aeration (cooling rack) is not blocked. They should be free. Use power plan to high performance and remember that the method in advanced power of cooling options is set to maximum performance.

    Be careful with these things.

  • RAID 0 - size of the pagefile - MIPS - Overclocking - HD video Production

    01/06/10

    Hi HP.

Last month I bought a refurbished

    HP Pavilion Elite m9650f
    Product # NJO62AAR #ABA
    S/N [text removed for privacy]

Intel Core i7 920 Quad Core 2.66 GHz CPU
    Pegatron, IPMTB-TK, Truckee (HP) - UL8E, MB
    6 GB (2 GB x 3 sticks), RAM PC3-8500, DDR3,
    750GB, SATA 3 G, 7 200 RPM x 2, RAID 0, HD
    NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GT, 1.5 GHz, 512 MB GDDR3

After a rocky start, with many BSOD and updates of the
HP website and replace a bad stick of RAM, the HP is now stable.

    I tested this HP with Vista x 64 and Win 7 x 64 separately
and fine tuned for high performance and he analyzed several
time at PCPitstop.com with 'OverDrive '.

This HP will be used for HD video Production and computer animation.

Here are some questions that I wonder about:

    I tried separately from Windows Vista x 64 and Windows 7 x 64.

It seems that I get an increase of about 4,000 MIPS (CPU) with Vista on Win 7.

Is this a significant difference or not?

Does anyone know how a difference of about 4,000 MIPS
will or will not affect motion graphics and
    HD video production applications?

For HD video production, it is best not to let the divided page file
in 2 or more fragments or is it more important to have too large
a page as your RAM file will allow?

BIOS of HP does not access the Overclocking.
Have ideas on how to work around this problem?
[Pegatron, card mother IPMTB-TK, Truckee (HP) - UL8E]

Can you tell me step by step how to configure RAID 0?

I have two Association Seagate 750 GB, SATA 3 G, hard disks 7 200 RPM.

They are physically installed and I have too much Intel Matrix Storage Manager.

I tried, but I'm not sure that everything came together properly

and I want to do it again or see a second time to be sure.

Could you please tell me step by step how to set up a RAID 0 on this HP
and then what I should see when I look at 'Computer' (the desktop icon)
and the total GB of storage should I find, I see still two hard drives
and then in Control Panel / administrative tools/computer management/storage how
    Disk management should review, etc.

You have any other suggestions to improve this
HP for HD video Production and computer animation?

    Thank you for your time.

    Hi Big Dave,

Thank you for responding and for having responded to my ad in the hardware section too.

Until recently, I never knew RAID any so I backed up my hard drive

to try the fastest mode of 0, just for the experience and I can say that 113 MB per second is quite impressive.

In addition, I was not sure of the steps so I winged it is best that I could.  Now, I want to assure you of the steps.

Thanks for the link to install VISTA RAID that's just what I was looking for.

I know RAID 0 is too risky and I am ready to return to RAID 1.

In the two discs hard Seagate firmware is up to date.

Thanks for the links compare NIVIDIA and ATI video cards

and links to replace the power supply and the video card.

Yes the GTX 260 seems very interesting, and I'll keep it in mind when finances permit.

  • [S1670CDS] Updates for ACPI and Overclocking

    Hello

First of all, let me tell you how happy I am having found such a community; (O)

I used to participate in the "Toshiba Linux users' mailing list, but never had advice windows on it.

    I own a 1670 CD Satellite, which belongs to the ' 1670 CD / 1690 CDT "series.

At the time, I want to overclock this pretty 550 Mhz machine, because it comes with a processor Intel Celeron Coppermine of good potential.

    I encounter these problems:
-Cannot get the temperature of the CPU / fan speed
    * I found a BIOS update to this URL: http://www.csd.toshiba.com/cgi-bin/tais/su/su_sc_dtlViewDL.jsp?ct=DL&soid=107294&ref=EV&BV_Se ssionID=@@@0242927038.1115376347@@@&BV_EngineID= ccceaddeieliiehcgfkceghdgngdgnn.0
But I already did a more recent update and then hesitate to apply this earlier update, since it could kill the machine.
What are the results of your BIOS up-to-date experiences (multiple applyings of a similar update, bad update timeline [2002, then 2000 and 2001, etc])?
Another strange thing is that the last update of the BIOS file, indicated by Sandra, dating from 2000, but on the site Web of Toshiba, this update is dated 2002.
I'm not sure that CPU and fan have sensors on the Toshiba 16xx series laptops... Someone who knows?
-Impossible to configure the properties of CPU (FSB) in the BIOS
    * Then I give great hope in this update of the ACPI, which could enable these settings. Someone installed an update to ACPI? He did allowed you these parameters?
I've read elsewhere that, even if the BIOS allows the processor settings, this can be done in Windows. I tried with the 'SoftFSB' utility, but he complained of PLL - IC data.
-Failed to get the name of motherboard manufacturer
    * Help overclocking utility in Windows XP, I need to know the model and the manufacturer of the motherboard.
I got with ' SisSoftware Sandra Lite 2005 "(monitoring software) is the following:". "

    # System:
    -Manufacturer: TOSHIBA
    -Model: S1670CDS
    -Version: PS167E-19886-05
    -Serial number: 80726155GþSS167-1988605
    -ID: 00000000-00000000-00000000-00000000
    # Motherboard
    -Manufacturer: Null
-MP Support: none (what's the point?)
    -Model: 888W1
    -Version: Null
    -Serial number: 0123456789AB
    # Chipset
-Model: Corporation Intel 82443BX/ZX/440BX ZX CPU to PCI bridge (AGP implemented)
-Bus: ISA AGP PCI PCMCIA CardBus USB i2c/SMBus
-Main Bus speed: 1 x 99 MHz (transfer rate of 99 MHz)
    -FSB / memory speed: 1 x 100 / 1 x 100 MHz
    -Width: 64 - bit

So I intend to wait your answers before you apply the update, because I don't want it crash.

I'll just search the forum, but could you give information and links to Windows software that work with Toshiba 16xx series (or other series, I'll test it):
-utilities for monitoring (which at least recognizes sensor of CPU, to manage temperature stability after overclocking)
-battery diagnostic utility (I found "BatteryMon" shareware)
    -anything that you think useful

    Thank you; (O)

Well, then, there is a problem with the flashing file I want to run on the laptop.

His name is "s167x_169x_v104.exe" and here is the link:
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_dtlViewDL.jsp?CT=DL&soID=107294&ref=EV&BV_Se ssionID=@@@0242927038.1115376347@@@&BV_EngineID= ccceaddeieliiehcgfkceghdgngdgnn.0

Some pages say it is intended for the CDS of 1675 and 1695 CDT models, but others explain that these 2 models are American and that the CD of 1670 and 1690 CDT are Europeans, and then these pages onclude both 4 models for the ACPI update flashing.

I never had problems with the other images flash (which uses Win Image Self Extractor) but this time (the ' * .exe "file is not linked with WinImageSelfExtractor like other flash drives and diskettes of good start that can be found on the internet, that's another thing), I get this message when I try to create the diskette:

"The current image format is not supported by the drive.

I run under WindowsXPHome, MS95 or 98 compatibility mode (if I'm not so, the ' * .exe ' file complains "Please do not run this utility on Windows 2000 environment".)

Early in the process, the disk has to be a "Formatted 2HD floppy Virgin ', 'empty' means a disk 'gross', as linux"rawwrite"utility performs?

I tried to run the ' * .exe "file under DOS, with a Win98SE boot disk, but" cannot be performed in the back".

The fact that the ' * .exe ' file was created with a too old version of WinImage is perhaps the reason why.
Perhaps this file is intended to be run under a 'real' Windows 98.

I did find a lot of information on this topic on the internet.

At the time, I try to make my disk known as "raw" as possible with the various public services.

Have you ever heard this disk problem?

I guess I'm not the only one who has experienced this problem, so if a nice person by the technical staff of Toshiba might help (method for the deals work, copy to convert the initial ' * .exe "file, or creating a new file pre-tested, using the same WinImageSelfExtractor than others), it would be greatly appreciated ;)

Since the 500-033el Pavilion is a class of consumer PC production offers a very limited feature set in the BIOS.

    Hello

Like many I know that this process could not on the desktop with the old Nvidia graphics driver. It is nice to hear positive comments, but in my opinion, it is quite risky and the result may be overheating, damage of graphics card or permanent ventilation of cooling running. I just hope that everything will be ok. You have done at your own risk, and if something is wrong you can expect pretty expensive repair costs.

In any case thank you for your report. Make sure that the ventilation openings are not blocked and the laptop can be cooled properly. Maybe you should put your laptop a little higher and make more distance between the desktop and your laptop. Place on four CDboxes or something similar.

    Good bye
