iCloud for Windows 5.1 problems

I am on Windows 10 and were finally able to get iCloud installed 5.1. With iCloud 5.0, I had a lot of difficulty to settle.

Now that iCloud 5.1 is installed, whenever I run "Apple Software Update", it shows that there is an update for iCloud 5.1. But I installed it. It there a way to get the update from the Apple software to understand that iCloud is installed? Everyone knows about this problem?

In addition, in Windows 10 "iCloud Photos" are added to my quick access in my exploring. I'm not here so I did a right click on it and select "remove from the quick access» However, the Photos "iCloud" is my quick access. Ugh! How to stop the spread upward?

Thank you

Mike

I have the SAME problem but I use Windows 7 Home Premium. After installing 5.1 Icloud, computer to restart. As soon as it restarts, Apple Software Update says that you need to install 5.1 Icloud. Tried UN-installing, re-start but always get the same question.

  • iCloud for Windows: authentication failure

(In fact, the message French that appears is "an error has occurred pendant authentication.")

I have re-installed iCloud (repaired) for Windows. I get my ID and password, and I get an alert "authentication error". I know the password is correct, because it is used with iTunes and if I remove a letter I get a different dialog box ("your ID or password is incorrect", actually "your Apple ID or password is incorrect").

I see several posts with a similar question, addressed none.  Help, please!

Looks like you're having trouble with the iCloud Support Tool on your PC. I know how important it is to have the synchronization of data between all the devices - I will certainly do my best to help.

The first thing I would recommend is the following the steps described in this article: iCloud: account troubleshooting while everything in this article resolve your particular issue, there are steps that you can use.

The next step would be check to see if you have a firewall activated through your Windows software or through any anti-virus/anti-malware software you have installed. Sometimes firewalls may prevent your computer to communicate with our servers iCloud. To temporarily disable your Windows Firewall if it is enabled, follow the steps described in the following link:

    Enable or disable Windows Firewall

Once you have the firewall turned off, try to connect again in the iCloud support tool. If you receive the same error, temporarily disable any anti-virus/anti-malware software that you have installed on your PC too. You can usually find steps on how to do this by visiting the software manufacturers web site. Test tool support once more to see if you get the same error to iCloud.

If the same error, with the firewall still disabled, then I recommend the following steps:

1 completely remove the decision-making tool in charge of iCloud, and then restart your PC.

    2. download iCloud for Windows and then restart your PC again.

    Take care!

I lost 135 MB of download capacity for iCloud for Windows, so I can participate in the program of sharing with my children, to see the miserable piece of software I have to first sign with an iThingee, which I did and refuse to buy.  This makes iCloud for WIndows USELESS!  Ther3e anyway for me to activate iCLoud for Windows WITHOUT either one) fouling up to iThingees of my children by making them sign me on my Apple account and then re - configure their machines to RETURN on their own AFTER I get iCloud for WIndows goes on my Surface or b) purchase of an iThingee that I refuse categorically to buy?

As you found, family sharing requires a Mac or an iOS device to start with. You can read this information on the use and configuration of the sharing of the family. Implement the family share - Apple Support  You can't use it on the Windows computer until it is configured on an iOS or Mac device.

  • Windows Install Error - iCloud for Windows

    Separated from this thread.

I am also having this problem, but it's for the iCloud on iTunes. I get a message saying there is a problem with this Windows package install, a program administered as part of the implementation was not completed as planned Contact your provider of personal support or package. I don't want to have to re install iTunes I might lose all the photos and music I have there. Apple tried to help, but apparently there are a lot of people having this problem and I was told that I have to contact Microsoft because it's the problem. busy bowlers.

I shared your question on the thread where you posted because that wire was quite old and linked to problems with a different application.

Apple's ITunes is a completely separate of the iCloud Apple for Windows program.  Uninstalling iTunes more than likely will have no impact on your current problem, but you should know that uninstalling and reinstalling iTunes NOT you will lose your music or photos.

According to this thread in the Apple support forums, the problem seems to be Apple rather than Microsoft, but it is very common for companies to point the finger toward the other in similar situations.  See https://discussions.apple.com/message/26647924#26647924

I suggest that you try the steps proposed by "droyls" in the above linked thread I have copied below:

Thanks jab336 - I had the same issue but was able to follow your steps on Windows 7 (32 bit) and now have iCloud 4.0 installed outside to not have to do a reboot of the system.

    Measures have been:

    1. login to iCloud.

2 uninstall iCloud - done that using CCleaner

    3. removal of content from C:/Program Files/Common Files/Apple/Internet Services outside of 2 dll Shellxxxx who says were used.

4 Ran Apple Software Update - found iCloud 4.0

5 installed iCloud 4.0 successfully - reboot required.

A major problem with the suggestion of "jab336" above in this thread, it's that I don't know where you can find iCloud 3.1 if you don't already have the installer for it on your computer.  "droyls" seems to have managed to install iCloud 4.0 without installing the older version first.

CCleaner, you can find here--> http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner it is safe to download them and use them, but please do not use the function "registry cleaner".  As with any downloaded program, be sure to read the fine print during installation and uncheck all the options to install toolbars or search engines or similar (you may need to select "Custom Installation" rather than "typical" to see these options).

Finally, it should be noted that, according to Apple, iCloud Drive will not work unless you have upgraded your iPhone/iPod iOS 8, although most other iCloud features work at least with iOS 7.

  • Halo 2 for Windows Vista compatibility problems?

I have problems of execution of Halo 2 for Vista after installing it on my Windows 7 installation.  Whenever I start it, it immediately goes to "No answer" as soon as it loads.  I tried to start with the compatibility options for all versions of Vista (plain, sp1, and sp2) but nothing works.  It seems to freeze at the part where it loads in the Games for Windows Live components.  I saw elsewhere that people have problems with this and that by removing completely all Games for Windows games and executives charge then reinstall them with Halo 2 first worked.  This has not worked for me, and after some further experimentation, I decided to check if it was a hardware problem, so I did a clean install of Vista and had no problem if he started.  All my drivers are up to date, but I can't find any more away.  Any suggestions?
