iCloud stuck on uploading

Hello

I decided to move the My Documents folder to iCloud by using the new feature of the Sierra. It is to save space on my Mac and have a backup with Time Machine. However, iCloud downloads the latest docs that I edited and it is stuck on uploading 82.4 MB.

I tried to restart my Mac or to kill the demon, but it did not help.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Thank you

Stefano

    Hi all

I let go a long day holiday tomorrow and I have a lot of pictures on my iPhone taking over of valuable storage that I know I'll need inevitable for the pictures and videos on vacation. I went into my iCloud > Photos settings and position "Optimize iPhone storage" and it is just stuck on "download of 1 063 items. The number has moved, but since I started this about four hours ago he did only ~ 200 at most.

I'm doing something wrong? I desperately need to move my 19 GB of Photos from my phone to my iCloud (I have 50 GB of space, 41GB that is available).

If it is downloading, you do not have something wrong. It is an extremely slow process.

What iCloud service do you use for this?  iCloud photo library?  iCloud drive?  My photo stream?

on Photos for Mac synchronization with iCloud goes two ways. If you enable iCloud Photo library or my photo stream on your Mac, download photos from your Mac to iCloud photo library and upload new photos to my stream of photos and other devices that use this service.

If you want to only download to your Mac, use the web interface to access iCloud photo library from the Web browser and do not allow any iCloud photo library on your Mac.

Open the web Page www.icloud.com and sign one of your iCloud Apple ID.  Then launch the Photos.app on this web page.  Now open the album pictures and click "Select". Select all the pictures, and then click Download.

To select all photos click on the first picture of the beach, hold down the shift button, scroll to the last picture and select it.

I agree with iCloud and my upload of photos was to the point of moving the library.

    Any advice welcomed!  Thank you

Why iCloud download my entire library once I moved to its location?

Unfortunately, it's going to happen, when you move a library. You must enable iCloud photo library for the library again moved and iCloud will download all the photos in order to merge them into the library in iCloud.  There are many reasons for iCloud to download again the library and merge again with iCloud:

    • When you move the library to another drive.
    • When you restore the library from a backup.
    • When you switch the iCloud library temporarily to another library and return to your original library.
    • When you activate my photo stream for another library, for example an Aperture library and then come back.
    • When you repair your iCloud current library.

All these events will cause pictures to download the new library on iCloud and compare it to the current library iCloud in iCloud.

The last time that this happened to my current library with about 40000 photos, it took an entire week.  I had just temporarily turned on picture My stream for my Aperture library.

When I open Photo iCloud is now downloading all 5500 images and movies and says I'm going to run out of space and need to update my subscription of 50 GB to 200 GB.  My current library is about 34 GB as my machine is tied up now of course download 34 GB of files.

It will run iCloud storage, if the library is identical to your original iCloud photo library.  The download is to compare the files, and if it is discovered of duplicates, it will keep only one. But it's useless.

  • Downloaded files iCloud

I have a lot of files on iCloud and they upload to my phone when I open them.  Is there a way to remove these download files to my phone, but always let them in the cloud?

Automatic downloads are practical, but they may not be right for everyone. On the one hand, if you have a Wi - Fi connection limited, automatic downloads can filter your internet and your battery. You can easily disable automatic downloads.

How to enable / disable automatic downloads for your iPhone:

Go to the settings on the devices you want to automatically download content to and press App and ITunes Store.

Press the toggle (s) next to relevant content (music, Apps, books or updates) to turn on or off automatic downloads.

To delete files from your device: (this is a tricky option)

You can disabe iCloud. But if you disable iCloud library in settings, you will be presented with the choice between download the originals to your device or delete them.

    • Hardware Acceleration (disabled)
    • I did a clean install and restored my previous profile (number still present)

Since the zoom, which forces a repaint, corrects the display at least temporarily, you can try to disable OMTC, a feature introduced in Firefox 33. Here's how:

    (1) in a new tab, type or paste Subject: config in the address bar and press ENTER. Click on the button promising to be careful.

    (2) in the search above the list box, type or paste the layers and make a pause so that the list is filtered

    (3) double-click the preference layers.offmainthreadcomposition.enabled to true to false

    Any difference?

Note: I read in a bug report at the time that this change causes problems with the YouTube HTML5 player, if hardware acceleration is disabled, then you may also force the Flash on YouTube if you keep this setting. You can use an add-on for this: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/youtube-flash-video-player/

  • On the right side of the br5owser, there is a scroll bar, the scroll bar is not no matter what a contrast and is almost invisible, can't find it?

Have seen other issues similar to mine and they can be on the same issue, but they say that the scroll bar disappears, in fact, it's still there but almost invisible. Try to click on it without knowing the exact location to cause the uncontrolled scrolling page. Other issues advised people to restore their browser by default, but that did not help at all. Had this same problem for about 6 of the latest versions of firefox, all say in the 1930s versions. I tried adding contrast high Windows as an experiment, but that did not help at all either. Been trying help for awhile and just now decided to ask myself a question as the other speakers may have given or answerers may think it is resolved.

In searching through help files it has led me to find a space based theme for the browser that I enjoy, but does not solve issue of course, so... all is not lost. Took a jpg of the image of the browser that shows the issue and am trying to upload it but looks like it is stuck in upload mode. Ugh "high speed" , anyhow maybe it uploaded and is not showing, the bar on the right is about 3/4 of the way down the side if you can see it, almost invisible.

    Core-el,

    Thank you
Discovered it was my own question of system, but had to talk with others, before I realized how in the absence of mind my question was. Old system had control of contrast on the screen, and they have been set to 4 digits off the coast of 50 / 100. I wouldn't think that little would make a difference, because it doesn't have in all the other use of the browser, but he did. So was my system, actual physical hardware settings. Sorry for wasting your time but thanks much for all of your thoughts.

  • WhatsApp will not only restore to backup photos

Hi, I had to wipe my phone and I restored it to iCloud (ultimately what is the point of paying for it otherwise).

My whatsapp backup was 5 GB, including the media, but when downloaded, all the older pictures of one month show a '? ' instead of thumbnails.

I contacted the support of whatsapp and they say it's a question about iCloud saving... The thing is that if I click on the question mark, it opens in white but you can see the pictures in the small thumbnails, which makes me think not everything is lost...  Help, please!

Anyone know if I can recover my pictures? That's what I see:

Were the photos you uploaded in your photo stream Whatsapp? If it were, then they don't would not have been saved as photo stream is a function separate iCloud and don't use your iCloud storage. However, pictures Photo Stream are only stored in iCloud for the last 1000 photos or 30 days, whichever comes first, then when the phone is reset, only the photos of Photo Stream iCloud are re-uploaded.

You can have a lot more photos Photo Stream on your individual before a reset device, but once again, the photo stream (which is located in iCloud), will have only the last 1000 or the last 30 days of photos to download.

Photo stream is not an album of archives. It's an album of sharing, with the only intention being a common source for 1000 or 30 days of photos to be stored temporarily so that they can be shared with all other devices signed on the same account iCloud.

    Good luck

  • Can I create several libraries of Photos Apple?

I have thousands of photos of archives from different eras that I like to keep classified into separate libraries. Is this possible without complicating the iCloud automated Photo Upload feature that I use for the contemporary family photos?

    Yes

Only the a library designated as the library system participates with iCloud photo library

  • restoration

They gave me an iPhone 5 then I saved my iphone4 to icloud and then uploaded to the new. It didn't download my music, so I went back to an old backup I had on my computer and installed this one. I'll be back my music but it erased all the new applications of the iPhone 5 and is returned to the screen of the iPhone 4 and delete my messages and a voice memo that had only been done 3 days before and I wanted to keep. How to make a comeback? It restored my phone in March of this year I didn't.

You can use a backup on the device. So, if you are using the most recent, then you will need to explain the issue you had with the music a little more in detail. You use Apple music? iTunes game? If not, then the backup of the iPhone 4 that you restore from is the music you are looking for?

The previous backup will restore the device in the State where that the iPhone 4 was at the time the backup was performed, so if you restore an older backup, then everything that took place as the iPhone 4 after the backup will not be displayed on the new device.

    See you soon,.

  • iCloud Photo stuck library download

    Hello!

My iPhone 6 (iOS 9.3.1) a iCloud than on Library w / download and keep the originals. Problem is that he is stuck download 1 789 points (3.45 GB 7.90 GB)

I Upload to My Photo Stream & iCloud, photo sharing is turned off. iCloud has 200 GB of storage and plenty of space. My Mac OS and iOS are connected to the same iCloud account. Also, I have removed my recently deleted on all devices.

    Notes

I have red that upload works only via WiFi. I've been sync'd wifi even forever now.

    How can I fix it?

The iCloud library synchronization is a very slow process. Literary can take several days, or even weeks.

    Options:

    1. you can leave the long process and see what happens;

    2. you can go to settings > camera & photo > disable iCloud photo library, then turn it on again later.

  • Photos library download to iCloud: it is stuck or just really slow?

I am trying to load a very large photo library on iCloud and am trying to determine how far along is progressing or if it is stuck.

in Photos, I can go to preferences-online iCloud where he says: "now uploading xx, xxx files...". ».  However, this number is not changed and I said the process of downloading a couple of days. (I knew from the start, with ~ 50 000 photos, that the process would take time).

I tried pressing 'pause for a day', and then pressing "reactivate" to see if that would start the process, but it seems to maintain the same xx, xxx files number.

My photo library is on a portable USB drive, so I also wonder if the speed of this drive is causing the process to grind to a halt.

I was wondering if I could return the library the SSD for my MBP and repeat the process? (And if I do this, which causes gazillions of duplicates and other shenanigans in iCloud?

    Thanks for your help!

Maybe one, but probably very slow - my library 7000 point took ten days with the long periods appear nothing ask you - usually no youdo to speed up it will actually slow down or force it to start from the beginning - keep your computer awake and connected to the internet and let him away from churn

  • Sierra of MacOS - iCloud Drive Documents & Desktop keeps Getting Stuck download

    Hello

as stated in the header after activating the iCloud Drive to include Documents and desktop download stuck guard.

Since almost 2 weeks I started the task mean to ask iCloud to include above mentioned files. Total quantity was about 100 GB download. I have 1 TB of storage for iCloud. iCloud is always download and always get stuck after about 10 to 30 minutes to download. Then I have to restart after that it starts to load only from getting stuck again.

I was on the phone with Apple Care who had no idea of what might happen. They Said and I quote "we have no problem with iCloud download and your problem has not yet been recreated by others."

I find it very hard to believe that I can repro this problem on 3 different systems.

I have Cable speed of 400 Mbps downstream a 25mbit upstream. I have zero upstream of questions to dropbox or Spideroak at an astonishing speed. ICloud is the slowest I've ever known in my life but as I said after 14 days, it has yet to fill about 40 GB. This is ridiculous IMO.

If anyone has any ideas on what is once again wrong with iCloud, I would of course tips

Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time to post!
