Is iCloud duplication pictures library after I moved it?

Why iCloud download my entire library once I moved to its location?

I just moved my library of Photos on an SD card that is I installed on my Mac after following these instructions--> How can I move my library of photos on an external drive?

I agree with iCloud and my upload of photos was to the point of moving the library.

When I open Photo iCloud is now downloading all 5500 images and movies and says I'm going to run out of space and need to update my subscription of 50 GB to 200 GB.  My current library is about 34 GB as my machine is tied up now of course download 34 GB of files.

Any advice welcomed!  Thank you

Why iCloud download my entire library once I moved to its location?

Unfortunately, it's going to happen, when you move a library. You must enable iCloud photo library for the library again moved and iCloud will download all the photos in order to merge them into the library in iCloud.  There are many reasons for iCloud to download again the library and merge again with iCloud:

  • When you move the library to another drive.
  • When you restore the library from a backup.
  • When you switch the iCloud library temporarily to another library and return to your original library.
  • When you activate my photo stream for another library, for example an Aperture library and then come back.
  • When you repair your iCloud current library.

All these events will cause pictures to download the new library on iCloud and compare it to the current library iCloud in iCloud.

The last time that this happened to my current library with about 40000 photos, it took an entire week.  I had just temporarily turned on picture My stream for my Aperture library.

When I open Photo iCloud is now downloading all 5500 images and movies and says I'm going to run out of space and need to update my subscription of 50 GB to 200 GB.  My current library is about 34 GB as my machine is tied up now of course download 34 GB of files.

It will run iCloud storage, if the library is identical to your original iCloud photo library.  The download is to compare the files, and if it is discovered of duplicates, it will keep only one. But it's useless.

I transferred all my data from my old MacBook Air to my new MacBook Pro via a restore from time machine.

After the confirmation of this message Photos responds with a message telling me that it can't open the library (see screenshot in German language). The message to distinguish basically says Photos tried to fix the library, but it was impossible to open it.

  • What happens to iCloud library after you restore the old library on Mac?

I have known problems with iDevices displaying thousands of 'new' images, even if they are all already in the library of Photos on Mac and on iCloud photo library, I posted on here also.

Through the various attempts to stop these 'new' photos to reappear again and again, I found myself with several copies of the thousands of images in the pictures on Mac and therefore in iCloud (i.e. they synchronized). Rather than go to the library and find it manually and remove these duplicates, I would just return the photo via Time Machine library to its prior state of duplicates. After I restored the local library there will be no duplicates and have much less images than what is in the iCloud, photo library.

    My question:

'Local library restored' rule and the iCloud library will correspond to the now smaller local library? Or all of the duplicate to my local library files will be synchronized? Put an another passerby, did restore Time Machine also "informed" (impact) the library to match the local library restored iCloud?

Restores the local library AND remove all images in iCloud and then re-upload a 20 K library to iCloud the only way?

    Thanks in advance.

First, you will need to erase your iCloud library in iCloud, I'm afraid, Pope, prior to activating the library restored as a your photo library system.

I only tested once. After the restoration of the library of Time Machine, the library was no longer recognized as the photo library of the system, even in the same location on disk. That caused the iCloud photo library to deal with the library as an additional library must be downloaded to iCloud. The library was merged to the existing library, so older duplicates have been removed.

  • IPod Classic does not recognize Itunes library after updating 12.4.1.6

After (sigh, unconsciously and unintentionally) update my Itunes 12.4.1.6 Macbook Pro, my Ipod Classic is as it does not recognize the Itunes Macbook is the parent library. I made a few additions to the Macbook Itunes playlists, but my Ipod sync... at least do not unintentionally erase all currents (gulp, 157 GB of data) and re-import the entire library again. Is there a way to get around this? I did have this problem - at least I don't remember having it-advance updates to Itunes, where the Ipod no longer recognizes the Itunes Macbook as his home library. I ran a "check disk" on the Macbook and Ipod, and they are both clean, no sign of corruption. FWIW, I use the laptop on Mavericks, OSX 10.9.5.

Did you have to add your media to the library after the update? See the empty/corrupted after upgrade/crash iTunes library.

  • Delete all files in the pictures library, the app still occupies the same space

An attempt to free up storage space, I exported all my photos and then deleted within the app (Image-> remove all). However the Finder shows that pictures library takes up the same amount of space as before I deleted my pictures.

How can I make sure that everything is deleted and I get my free space?

  • If I had to restore my music library after a computer failure, if I sync my iPod I lose the music?

I had to restore my music library after a computer failure, but not all of my library was reatored. If I sync my iPod what do I lose music? I heard that

You can not sync music between the two if the iPod has iTunes has no music. I don't want to lose my entire library which is at this point on the iPod.

If you "restore" your iTunes library by adding your songs (and other content) to a new iTunes library (instead of restore full of backup iTunes library), your current iTunes library is treated as a different iPod iTunes library.  iPods can use Auto-Sync with one iTunes library at a time.  If you have set up the synchronization with your current iTunes library, the existing content of the iPod (from the old iTunes library) is deleted and replaced with the contents of your current iTunes library.  All the songs from the iPod that are not on your iTunes current library will be lost.

By design, iTunes sync is generally in one direction, from iTunes to iPod library.  You cannot use iTunes to transfer files of song from iPod to computer (with the exception of songs purchased from the iTunes Store).  However, there are methods and third party utilities that can transfer from iPod to computer.  If you do an Internet search on something like 'ipod music transfer', you should get a few links (including a CNET article on the subject).

Once the song on your disk files, add them to your current iTunes library.  After the confirmation of your iTunes library has all of your songs, you can configure synchronization with the iPod.

The iCloud library synchronization is a very slow process. Literary can take several days, or even weeks.

The application that prints photos in the photo library maintains its own set of settings of the printer, separate from what can be defined elsewhere.  Select a photo, click on print and then click on 'options' in the bottom right.  From there you should be able to select the appropriate paper type and color printing.

  • Files becomes locked after be moved. Help, please!

I am running XP Home SP3. I recently had to repair my OS of the OSDisk from my computer, because of an accident of BONE. Almost everything works fine now, except when I move any kind of file or folder (regardless of the means of transport [copy, cut or slip]). After I moved the file or folder, whenever I try to open it, it tells me access is denied, and I can't remove items without using external programs like FileAssassin.

Although I realize that there are many people who will say "go in safe mode and give yourself permissions... '. "That can allow me to delete THESE files, but it will not solve the problem and allows me to move files here on out.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would have to question the way that files have been placed on the disk after the accident of the OS.  It is possible that these files are still attached to the owner under the old system.  Even if your user name is the same on the new system, the owner as determined by Windows is based on the SecureID (SID) on the file, that will be different on the two systems.  My first step would be to go to the top of the page directory of these restored files and take possession of them to make sure that your new user has:

"How appropriate a file or a folder in Windows XP"

If this does not help, you can get some clues in this article:

"How permissions are handled when you copy and move files and folders.
