  I'm late to the discussion of problems Outlook-iCloud. I have Windows 7, Outlook 2013. iCloud slipped all my elements of calendar and contacts and completely wiped out my mailing lists. All I want is to get rid completely of iCloud for Windows! I understood how to get contacts and calendar items back and reconstruct the mailing lists, all by hand in case of absolute necessity, even if many in this discussion suggested other ways to do it. My big problem is where all these visible items in Outlook folders are stored now. They seem not to be in the iCloud, and I was not able to determine where they are. Some are extremely important, and I can't afford to lose. Can someone tell me where the hell are they? There is a .pst file that is updated regularly. If they are there, how can I check this? I spent an hour each with a 'genius' of Apple and a technician in the Microsoft store, and does not have a clue! I have the latest version of iCloud for WIndows from 29/09/16. I'm syncing iPad Air2, v.10 and iPhone OS 5, not updated to v.10. Thanks for any help you can give me.

  I have a librurary of photo on my iMac. (don't have not yet updated for sierra)

  I would like to support this thesis / store the originals in ICloud AND keep them on my mac.

  SO I think that the obvious thing to do is select "optimize storage" in the settings of cloud photo which clearly says that they will be in the cloud and the computer. But here's the question...

  If my IMac is low on space will start serving the original photos so that they are FAIR to Icloud?

  If so, what is the threshold of how much space it starts to do this?

  and if I recover my space again once on the iMac will be the original re download back to my iMac?

  You may not use the setting 'Optimize storage' - select ' download originals for the Mac ", if you want than the originals, to be stored locally on the Mac and on iCloud.

  So that 'download originals to the Mac' is activated, all of the original will be kept on your Mac as well.

  It will not start original purge, as long as you keep "Optimize storage disabled".

  Optimization of the storage with the storage management is automatic.  Photos will download the originals if you need and remove, if more storage is needed. You cannot control this.

  iCloud library is no backup. It is a synchronization service to keep all your libraries on different devices synchronized and updated. If you accidentally delete photo from your library, it is not possible to restore from iCloud. Deletion can be synchronized to all devices and iCloud, so the photo has disappeared everywhere.  You need a backup separate from your library on an external drive, even if you use iCloud photo library.

  Go to iCloud.com using a computer, then settings. When loading this page, look down at left under Advanced and see if you can restore from there.

• Unable to sync Mac (10.9.5) to iCloud and iDevices but reverse works

  My problem is simple. I just added a calendar to my MBA (10.9.5) and attempted to share the calendar with my family.

  After that my family has not received an e-mail to synchronize with the new calendar, I watched my iCloud account. The new schedule is not on my iCloud account either.

  I crossed all basic and advanced troubleshooting guides on apple.com and other websites of third parties without result. Yes, my calendar is listed under iCloud.   OK, after an hour of frustration (my iCloud account is sent to push), I disconnected my iCloud account and then connected again. Of course the restoration did not understand the new calendar, so I imported my backup. The calendar now shows upward. This is a serious flaw that Apple needs to fix.

I want to iCloud on use as a conduit to get the photos to my computer, not as a large storage space.   Right now they are all in the pictures on the Mac, but I'm worried if I remove it from my iPhone/iPad that they will disappear from Photos on the Mac. I don't understand the new Photos app with all the missing features of iPhoto.

  You can not that's not how works iCloud photo library - it is not a conduit but a total synchronization service whose entire raison d'etre is to keep libraries connected identical - all changes made on any device (addition, deletion or modification) are made on all devices. For devices with limited memory, using optimized photos

  If this isn't what you want then use another service - USB import, iTunes sync, MyPhotoStream for example each do different things and everyone can move photos from one device to another

  And Photos lack a lot of features iPhoto form - in fact much more features than iPhoto including iCloud library there like a bigger and better editing capability and better external editing capability and so on

  I understand that you have purchased storage additional iCloud and your credit card has been charged, but you do not see that the storage has been added.  Have you received an email from Apple regarding this purchase?

  The first thing I would say is to restart your iPhone.  Then tap general > storage & use of iCloud.  In the iCloud section, the amount of 'Storage' has changed?

  ICloud is not in iCloud drive information includes Mail, Contacts, calendar, Photos, Notes, reminders, etc. iCloud Drive is a separate app or a section in iCloud.

  1 - get up-to-date - you say you have OS X 10.10.5 - you are six updates behind - the latest version is El Captain OS X 10.11.6 - it have many bug fixes and many new features

  2 communicate. us your iCloud and on Mac and on every IOS device status settings

  3 - iCloud is not a backup, is a synchronization service - you need a system with the downloaded original and a backup in addition to the iCloud photo library

  I save my photos from my ipnone in icloud. Today, I needed to free up space on my phone so I made sure the photos and videos have been backed up in the cloud, but when I removed them from my phone, they are now gone from the Cloud. Why?

  I thought that kept any cloud, so you can free your phone. What I'm doing wrong that will keep my photos and info on the cloud when I delete from the phone.

  If you have settings > iCloud > Photos > iCloud library turned on then all of the photos you delete from your phone will be deleted to iCloud and any other device connected to this library to iCloud.

  iCloud photo library as is currently is above all a method of synchronization between devices. It is NOT a backup, and it is not designed to be a storage cloud solution only.

  You can reduce the space required for the photos on your phone by selecting "Optimize iPhone storage" on the same above-mentioned settings screen.

  I had lost the data of three days because of a problem with the update (10.11.6) and damaged the last time machine backup. If I had recovered from the oldest. Now I want to synchronize photos with iCloud where are the most recent. But when I opened iPhotos app it starts immediately to download the entire library stored on my mac to iCloud. Why?   Photos will upload your library still frequently. Every time you have to compare the current local library for iCloud. It will download all the photos in your library, compare photos in iCloud, resolve the conflicts.  Once all potos miising upload, it will start ing to upload photos that are found only in iCloud.

  If you restore your library from a backup, move to another disk or repair library, or if the crash Photos, download again the pictures and you can't avoid it.  Try to avoid the reasons for the upload.

• Computer I have Sync'd with is death - can I now back up / synchronize with iCloud and still have everything?

  Pretty much like what it says. Previously synced 100% with laptop computer (iTunes, photos, videos, etc.) which now shows the blue screen of death permanently.

  You can activate the backup to iCloud and it backs up your phone as it is currently. See following information from backups for iOS - Apple Support devices for details of what is included:

  iCloud backups include virtually all the data and parameters stored on your device. iCloud backups do not include:

  I went to a Genius Bar appointment today where the genius told me I can't back up my devices iOS by connected directly to my Mac. He said that the backup to iCloud over wifi is the same thing and I need to do both.
