Identity columns Oracle 12 c in the entity of the ADF

Hello

All the PCs in my diagram have their values provided by the new identity column feature in Oracle 12 c. Previously, during backup with sequences and triggers, I would choose the DBSequence type for the attribute PK in my ADFBC entity.

I can leave Type BigDecimal, uncheck the required box and check "Update on insert", and then the PK is filled in the DB and the entity. However, it is a desirable solution at least.

How can I tell ADF 12.1.3 I use identity columns, so that I can undo a mistake 'attribute is required?

User, this feature is not currently supported in 12.1.3. As you have already discovered, you can create a table in 12 c with IDENTITY and use it in ADF (g 11 or 12 c). To some extent, this works. However, you cannot define a relationship master detail using the IDENTITY as PK feature will be created in the DB only after insertion. So in the EO attribute PK remains empty until you at least have published data and refresh the attribute to get the DB assigned ID.

For an insert master detail, this would mean that you must wait until the parent gets his id before you can set the necessary FK in detail. You can do this, but it's the work you have set yourself.

ADF uses the DBSequence data type for this kind of work. Here a negative number is assigned to the new line of master and as FK details until the transaction is committed. Then, negative numbers are exchanged by the framework with the now valid PK and FK.

    If we use the above sql scripts to create the tables and create the ADF BC using the above 2 tables, all 4 columns in table 2 are reported as the primary key.

    User, tell us your version of Jdev, please!

    You should file an SR with support.oracle.com for this.

    As a work around you can change the area of occurrence, and remove the check mark key pirmary on the unwanted columns. After that, it should work.

  • How to hide the column in a table in the adf.

    I created the table of the ADF and surround it in the collection of panels, the data in the table from the bean to support variable. Depending on the State, there are a few columns that must hide with the user. I used visible = "false", where the false value will come from backing bean. However the user to the table always have the ability to display the column. Is there any one to hide the column with the user at all times. Fixing the code example:

For row data, I want to selectively choose the columns that are left centered or justified. Do you have any ideas on what I'm missing.

  • Access and modify rich components inside cells in the table of the ADF

    Hello.

    This is my current problem with Tables in the ADF.

    I drop a simple VO in a page and create a table. Suppose one of the attributes/columns (named flagID, for example) may have specific values: 1 or 2.

    Next, I add another column that contains links to the ADF.

    For each line, I need it:

    • If row.flagID.value is equal to 1, then its corresponding line contains an ADF link with text '1 link' value and go to destination 1 (can be a page, popup, etc.)
    • If row.flagID.value is equal to 2, then its corresponding line must include an ADF link with text "Link 2" value and proceed to destination 2.

    My main problem is to customize each cell. I add a column, I add a link "ADF" in this column, but how can I customize the link and its attributes as I have explained, at the level of cells?

    How to access programmatically the cell, not its value, but its rich Component?

    Is it possible (programmatic or not) to do?

    Any help would be much appreciated.

    Thanks in advance. Best regards

    Try the EL Expression on the property of the ADF link text

    #{row.flagId.value = 1? {Link 1: link 2}

    If the link is to behave differently according to the text, and then create a listener of the action on the link and do the required action.

    Thank you

  • SQL Server Oracle Migration: semantics of the column

    I'm testing a migration to SQL Server 2012 to Oracle 12 c using SQL Developer 4.0.0.13 migration Assistant. The problem that I am facing is that all the generated table creation scripts have CHARACTER semantics for character columns. I wish that the semantic bytes. As the generated tables and columns are several thousand it is not possible to manually change the semantics.

    I can't find any possibility to change the semantics when generating. Anyone know of any option that I can set so that the migration wizard will generate all of the columns in the form of BYTES?

    If you need a multiple character string, such as '? ~', to delimit the columns, then the same basic approach works, but the regular expression is messier.

    Product is just another column in this solution. Can be NULL, and it doesn't have to be unique.

  • filling of datetime column SQL Server with the data in the date column oracle

    After a lot of "finangling", I think I have my link dg4msql works well between Oracle and MSSQL.

    Now, what I'm trying to do, is fill a table in MSSQL with an Oracle table column values, whenever a new row is inserted in the Oracle table. I use a very simple trigger on the oracle table that goes basically like this:

    mware is dblink to MSSQL database, oracle col worth DATE and mssql col is of type DATETIME

    This is the relaxation: (edited to show only the column in question)
    ==================================================================================
    CREATE or replace TRIGGER < oracleowner >. INSERT_INTO_NVDB
    AFTER INSERT ON < oracleowner >. < oracletable > for each row
    BEGIN
    insert into '< mssqlowner > '. «< mssqltable > @mware «»
    (
    "load_date_time,"
    )
    VALUES)
    : new.loading_date,.
    );

    END;
    ==================================================================================

    Now, when you enter a record in the Oracle trigger triggers ok table but does not insert a date in the MSSQL table, the 'load_date_time' in the mssql table can have NULL values so I guess there just inserts a null value.

    When I activate the triggers on the table MSSQL, which then takes these values and inserts them into another table with values from other tables, inserting in the Oracle table fails because the relaxation on the MSSQL database tries to pass the date (which is empty) table MSSQL in another table where the datetime field is not null.

    I guess it's because Oracle date format is not compatible with MSSQL, which I think is "yyyy-mm-dd hh: mm:"- so I have to either convert the date format by default Oracle to match a MSSQL, or convert a char of the trigger value. (The developer of the side MSSQL says if I can convert it to a char value that should be ok too)

    I think that it is probably better to leave it in the date format, the best way to do this would be to put an "alter session set nls_date_format ="at the beginning of the trigger?

    Can I convert the date to char the trigger easily? If there is a better way to proceed in the way I approach it I'm all for it.

    Thank you!

    Hello
    Your best option is to explicitly convert dates Oracle in a format recognized by SQL * Server. It's more coding, but then you know exactly what is being inserted and you give more control, if anything changes. You can also code to handle null data.
    I'm not sure than to try to change the format of date to 'alter session... ". "do what you want.
    You can use "to_char" on a date into character data-

    To_char (, "HH24:MI:SSxFF of MON-DD-YYYY")

    and use any mask format supported.
    You also use 'to_date' to transform the character data in a date format, as well as 'to_char' and 'to_date' in combination.
    For example -.

    SELECT TO_CHAR (TO_DATE (October 27, 98 ',' DD-MON-RR'), 'YYYY') 'Year' FROM DUAL;

    This is all discussed in the documentation-

    Oracle® database
    SQL language reference
    11g Release 2 (11.2)

    where it also describes the different format masks.
    If you need further assistance on the use of to_date, to_char formats then ask in the forum SQL/PLSQL.

    SQL and PL/SQL

    where they have more experience.

  • Reset the value of the SQL Server identity column according to what is being inserted

    I have a SQL Server 2008 database with a table that has a field ID that has an increment and seeds of 1.

    This great work that each new record created automatically gets a number of new and distinct.

    Now when I insert some new records that I need to be able to make this value from 10001 and then next would be 10002 etc.

    But it's only for certain insertions.

    Is there a way to control the identity seed and increment, perhaps on the fly via a query?

    If some inserts would follow 1,2,3,4,5,6,7 according to what is being inserted

    and others would follow 10001,10002,10003 according to what is being inserted.

    is this possible?

    Make a different field.  Don't mess with your PK.

    Make sure you have a plan for when you get 10000 records in this table.

    First, export your Excel spreadsheet to CSV. It is much simpler to work with text delimited by a binary property. Place the CSV file in a directory accessible to the database.

    Second, create an external table to select the data in the CSV file. Outdoor tables are very neat, once you get your head around them: basically we can execute SQL queries against the OS files. Declare the external table with four columns, i.e. its projection corresponds to the structure of your file. Learn more about the outdoor tables.

    (You will need create a DIRECTORY object to do this, pointing to the OS directory where you put the CSV file).

    Now its to a cinch to insert data into your target table:

    insert into target_table (col1, cols)
    select c1 || c2 || c3, c4
    from external_table
    /

  • How to INSERT a SELECT statement with a GROUP BY clause on a table with an IDENTITY column?

    n an application, I intend to truncate and insertion on a 12 c Oracle database, but have found this problem with a IDENTITY column. Even if the INSERT... SELECT statement works on most SELECT uses I tried, if this statement was also a GROUP BY clause, it does not work, delivering a "ORA-00979: not a GROUP BY expression ' complaint. Some examples of code:

    create table aux ( owner_name varchar2(20), pet varchar2(20) );

    insert into aux values ('Scott', 'dog');

    insert into aux values ('Mike', 'dog');

    insert into aux values ('Mike', 'cat');

    insert into aux values ('John', 'turtle');

    create table T1 (

    id number generated always as identity,

    owner_name varchar2(20),

    pet_count number );

    select owner_name, count(*) as pet_count from aux group by owner_name; -- works just fine

    insert into T1 (owner_name, pet_count) select owner_name, count(*) as pet_count from aux group by owner_name; -- doesn't work

    The select statement works by itself, but it fails as an INSERT... SELECT statement.

    Appreciate the help!

    Looks like a bug. You must open the SR with Oracle. Meanwhile, you could materialize select:

    SQL > insert into T1 (owner_name, pet_count)
    2 with t as (select / * + materialize * / owner_name, count (*) as pet_count to the owner_name group)
    3. Select owner_name, pet_count t
    4.

    3 lines were created.

    SQL > select * from t1;

    ID OWNER_NAME PET_COUNT
    ---------- -------------------- ----------
    1 John                          1
    Scott 2 1
    3 Mike                          2

    SQL >

    Keep in mind index THAT MATERIALIZE is undocumented.

  • The ADF table: filter on columns of stamp with a specific format in the indications of the user interface

    Hi all

    I have problem when filtering on af timestamp column: table.

    I have a table containing historical information (created_on and modified_on), it is mapped to an entity:

    Type = "Oracle.jbo.domain.date"

    ColumnType = "DATE".

    I've seen object mapped from this entity.

    I want to display created_on and modified_on with timestamp (hour and minute), so I add the tips of the user interface for these 2 columns:

    -Type format: Date Simple

    -Size: MM/DD/YYYY HH: mm

    I create a table based on this point of view. The table is filterable.

    The column like this:

    < af:column sortProperty = "#{bindings." View.hints.CreatedOn.name}"blockable = 'true '.

    sortable = "true" headerText = "#{bindings." View.hints.CreatedOn.label}"id ="c6">

    < f: facet = name 'filter' >

    < af:inputDate value = "#{bindings." ViewQuery.queryDescriptor.filterConjunctionCriterion.criterionMap.CreatedOn.value}.

    ID = "id2" >

    < af:convertDateTime pattern = "#{bindings." View.hints.CreatedOn.format}"/ >

    < / af:inputDate >

    < / f: facet >

    < af:outputText value = "#{rank." CreatedOn}.

    shortDesc = "#{bindings." VIew.hints.CreatedOn.tooltip}"id ="ot6">

    < af:convertDateTime pattern = "#{bindings." View.hints.CreatedOn.format} ">"

    < / af:outputText >

    < / af:column >

    When I filter on 2 columns (created_on, modified_on) I got an error: " java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: ADFv: could not convert the instance: 30/07/2014 09:51 type: class java.lang.String in class of type null oracle.jbo.domain.Date."

    Do you have an idea for me?

    Thanks in advance.

  • When possible in Oracle Forms to insert a second line based on 1st row, so why not in the ADF?

    Mr President

    When possible in Oracle Forms to insert a second line based on 1st row, so why not in the ADF?

    The user just enter data in the Module of sales in one line of a Bill as below

    and it is displayed in two rows in financial Module.like below how to proceed in the ADF.

    You can see that invoice line contains the sales tax and the gross sales amounts, then it is posted to the financial Module above two lines.

    How to make ADF

    Respect of

    What I realized, this is:

    -You have a table in you screen.

    -You call CreateInsert 2 times to create 2 rows at the same time.

    -You will enter value in a specific column (c1) line1

    Looking for the value that you entered in row1 can be completely copied in the same column (c1), but in line2. is this correct?

    If so try to do the following:

    1. in the table inputText (c1) column set autoSubmit = true and setValueChangeListener to a method in backbean

    2. in the inputTextValueChangeListener method to write this code

      public void inputTextValueChangeListener(ValueChangeEvent valueChangeEvent)
      {
        DCIteratorBinding tableIter = (DCIteratorBinding) BindingContext.getCurrent().getCurrentBindingsEntry().get("tableIteratorName");// write table iterator name from pageDef.
        for (int i = 0; i < tableIter.getViewObject().getEstimatedRowCount(); i++)
        {
          ViewRowImpl myRow = (ViewRowImpl) tableIter.getRowAtRangeIndex(i);
          EntityImpl entityImpl = myRow.getEntity(0);
          if (EntityImpl.STATUS_NEW == entityImpl.getEntityState())
          {
            System.out.println("New row found");
            myRow.setAttribute("AttributeName", valueChangeEvent.getNewValue());// write attribute name
          }
        }
      }

    3 - Add inputText id in the partialTrigger table

    4 - pageDef. Set of table iterator rangeSize = "-1".
