IE opens whenever I open Firefox
It is in the address bar: C:\Documents and Settings\General\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\1gxdayf5.default\GoogleToolbarData\components\suggest_window.html
You have extensions such as View IE or IE Tab using the program of IE to render the pages?
Start Firefox in Safe Mode to check if one of the extensions or if hardware acceleration is the cause of the problem (switch to the DEFAULT theme: Firefox/tools > Modules > appearance/themes).
- Makes no changes on the start safe mode window.

Whenever I open Firefox, it works as it is downloaded a file.
Whenever I open Firefox, a small box rises from the middle of the screen to the progress of the download arrow in the upper right of the Firefox window. I check the window of download progress and download anything, but everytime I open the app, it does. It's not use to happen. I use Firefox on a Mac 31.1. I've just updated to 31.1.1.
You can view the downloads folder in the downloads (library) to see if there are unfinished downloads.

As I said whenever I open firefox I get 3 additional tabs to the home page. After that, whenever I hit the home button I get 3 more. Very fast, I got 1 million tabs and capabilities. I went to internet explore and connected and I have no problem. The only thing I can get from that is that I have a problem with firefox. I have been using firefox for a couple of years too.
Thanks, Larry

Question
Recently, whenever I try to open Firefox, I get a dialog box: Exc in ev handl: TypeError: brw is not defined (JavaScript Application). Certainly, Firefox is my default browser.
After clicking on OK Firefox opens. You can probably get rid of it by disabling McAfee Site Advisor ending Firefox and then restarting Firefox and the reactivation of McAfee Site Advisor, ending at Firefox and restart Firefox. But it would probably be best to uninstall Site Advisor and reinstall (as opposed to the update)...
Please see the solution in http://kb.mozillazine.org/Problematic_extensions
"McAfee Site Advisor.(Windows): for best results, you need to uninstall McAfee Site Advisor from Control Panel > add/edit programs (programs and features). Restart the system. Then http://www.siteadvisor.com/ reinstalling and reboot the system. Installation of other waste (crapware) suggested applications.
Please mark "resolved" a response that will better help others with a similar problem - hope it was her.

How can I eliminate the amns.startnow page whenever I open firefox/google?
Whenever I open Firefox to my Google home page, StartNow is also in the toolbar. How can I stop this?
I could also say that research | Firefox Help is also there and is redundant when the 'help' is also in the toolbar above.
Launch of Firefox, navigate to a page, you want your home page, then open Options > general and click the button "use current Pages".

Ok. Then when I open Firefox, I go to my home page. Then when I click on the button Search (before entering), it brings me to a different window of an advertisement. I tried advertising blocker, but there is absolutely nothing to prevent it from opening. On each page, when I click on anything, whether it's up a different window of an advertisement. Now, my other problem is, when I play a video on YouTube, Firefox is not responding. But then the video plays normally. In this case as, EVERY single video I watch it on Firefox. Solve the problem.
And also, Shockwave Flash keeps "no answer / busy" almost on every page that I opened. other than YouTube and all related "google" pagesHi, sometimes a problem with Firefox can be a result of malware installed on your computer.
You can try these free programs to search for malicious software that work with your existing anti-virus software:
- Microsoft safety scanner
- MalwareBytes' Anti-Malware
- Anti-Rootkit utility - TDSSKiller
- AdwCleaner (for more information, see this other AdwCleaner download page)
- Hitman Pro
- ESET Online Scanner
Microsoft Security Essentials is a good permanent antivirus for Windows 7/Vista/XP, if you do not already have one. Windows 8 already has integrated antivirus.
More information can be found in the article troubleshooting Firefox problems caused by malware .
You must also update your Shockwave Flash Player (Ctrl + Shift + A > Plugins)

Lately when I open Firefox, a dialog box appears informing me that I had to upgrade. But when I press on install what I get is a process that goes on and on and never ends. I had this happen several times and each time I finished around the top of the box to close and ending the process. It worries me because I fear that at some point, my version of Firefox will be so old that it will stop working. What can I do to make sure that the latest version is installed. I have a Mac Book with OS 10.6.8.
